After trying to book a table for our family of 6 I received a lovely email from the Warersedge advising that they weren't taking bookings however we made the decision that we would still have dinner there.
Since it was hot and half term we fully expected to have to queue and wait for a table so when we reached the front after 40 minutes we were delighted that it was actually so quick.
A lovely member of staff came outside only to advise that she was sorry but it was drinks only tonight,  a decision which had been taken apparently by head office that afternoon. 
Why would the manager not have had the foresight when the decision was made to place a notice outside welcoming guests for drinks but sorry only food available for residents? Is a queue of 30 prospective guests not worthy of a member if staff advising of the situation?
I fully respect your decision as a business to serve residents only but with a captive audience of potential clients you have definitely done yourself an injustice. 
Possibly the worst customer service I have experienced for years.

Dreadful Experience

Sadly the white lion is only open to tech savvy people. As we do not have a phone to order or pay we were turned away.  Shame on u I was left feeling like a leopard. I was willing to give all my contacts details for tract and tract but they just wanted me to us a phone I did not have

We had a really lovely one night stay. The room was spotlessly clean and well looked-after. Throughout the pub/restaurant/hotel in fact, it was very clean and the team were making a real effort there. We had a good night’s sleep on a large, comfy bed with no noise from inside or out. Breakfast was nice and well-managed in this Covid era. Here again, the staff took a lot of care to accommodate our slightly chaotic table with our kids and their requests. Nice atmosphere and very pleasant, friendly, helpful and patient staff. Excellent central location and the added bonus of parking. Would definitely stay again.

The rooms we booked were spotless, everything felt very clean.
All the staff, from being greeted, check in, ordering drinks, cleaning etc. were smiling, helpful and made us feel welcome.
The meal we had and breakfast were very enjoyable.
Everything you did was just right. Will definitely look to stay with you again.
I did read reviews before we visited but all your staff we saw during our stay looked to have customer service at the forefront.
Special mention to the girl who looked after us for our meal Sunday. I didn't get her name but she also added really good humour, always a bonus in my book.

Excellent stay. Customer service was fantastic.

What a wonderful stay.
Me and the hubby had 2 nights.
The whole experience was really good from the minute we checked in until we left.
The room was spacious warm and very comfortable,huge bed which was great.
The bar area and outside space was great,a good selection of real ales and the menu was varied and reasonably priced.
We had a meal the second nite and it was piping hot well presented and very tasty.
The staff were warm friendly and very attentive this on top of finding out that day they had to close the pub due to coronavirus at the government's instructions
I would definitely stay here again and wish all the staff the best of health.

Great hotel

Not enough staff in the bar. (Including the chef who walked out mid service because he hadn't had a day off in 2 weeks). Rooms need updated and a lick of paint. Rubbish from the last guests left under cupboard. No bath towels in the room. Breakfast very disappointing. (Bowl of cereal and a cup of tea) Not worth the £100 paid for overnight stay.

Disappointed

Decent enough room. Staff we're friendly enough nice and cosy place. However we were awakened in the middle of the night by the fire alarm going off. When we went down for breakfast at 8 am nothing was ready. Not even any bread for toast. No butter,no hot water for tea or any coffee. An absolute shambles. In all my years of travelling I don't think I have ever experienced a situation where no food was ready at the stated breakfast time. The staff looked like they hadn't been to bed the night before and the people coming downstairs later than us for breakfast had to manoeuvre around the cleaning lady hoovering up!! Ok it was Christmas day and perhaps the staff had been having a few late ones the night before but you do expect bettrr service than this especially in a popular Lake District tourist destination. So glad we only paid £80 a night and not £200 like the poor old chap that joined us for breakfast. 

Faulty towers 

Stayed  for 1 night B&B, quite suprised as doesn't look anything from outside,the twin room was lovely, window overlooking road to the shops, ( tesco direct) being one, it had a table plus 2 chairs, very comfy beds, large bathroom, with an excellent shower, bath. The room was nicely decorated, and warm, as very cold at time of stay. The only fault was the breakfast, stated continental, but was only choice of cereals, toast and croissants, tea & coffee, you can pay extra for full English.
The staff where very helpful, hardworking, and polite, a credit to the hotel.

Decieving

Upon check in, the staff were very friendly and the young woman who checked us in gave us a tour so we knew what was what. 
With it being an inn, I wasn’t expecting luxury but did expect a certain level of cleanliness and comfort, especially after reading some of the other great reviews. Unfortunately, the carpet was stained, the sofa bed had a stain across it as well, there were large cobwebs in the bathroom and the windows didn’t seem block any noise from outside at all. Despite being on the 2nd floor, we could hear conversations outside, all the traffic and someone riding a quad bike past revving the engine. Deliveries then started at 7 am. The continental breakfast was a definite positive. It was well set out, everything was topped up and the croissants were fresh and warm! I have only rated it average due to the fact that the staff were welcoming and helpful and because of the central location! 

Disappointing accommodation but lovely staff! 

We popped in for tea, service was good , food was above average . Menu was sticky and dirty , table was the same . Didn’t use the toilets as my husband used the men’s and said it was disgusting. Place is in need of redecoration and new seating as that was worn and ripped .
