Our 2 night stay was excellent.  The room was warm, kettle, hairdryer & wall mounted TV. We had a side facing window so no view, but not a concern to us. Good over bath shower and wall mounted shower/hair shampoo bottle with another mounted at the sink. The bed was very comfortable,  good sleep both nights. It's an old building, therefore,  creaking floorboards and noisy door closing in the corridor.  Again, not an issue with us.  Lift to both floors. Due to appointments etc and departure times we didn't eat at The Townhouse but it's a very busy hotel and plates looked fabulous and plentiful. There were many families in for lunch or dinner. We didn't hear any noise from the hotel bar at all. All staff members extremely friendly and attentive. Apologies I didn't get any names. They were all great. Lovely lady who checked us out Monday about 9am. Breakfast available. Free car parking in public car park behind the hotel in Hill Street. Some street parking available. Minutes stroll from shops and shopping mall. Visit the Signal Museum which is free. Loved the free earplugs.....the gulls can be noisy. (Apparently) We didn't hear a thing!!!

Great stay.

We had the macaroni cheese and a ham and cheese salad,  size of portions are quite large but can be reduced in size,  tasted really good enjoyed by both of us,  staff were very pleasant   tidy nd looked happy in their workplace.  Highly recommended.  

Excellent place . Recommended 

Was going to a comedy show at the Arbroath theatre, popped into the townhouse hotel for drinks and food, the cocktails were brilliant and had a variety of starters which were also very tasty, really enjoyed the place and will definitely be going back, the staff were very nice too. A big thumbs up 👍

Great cocktails and food with a nice environment.

Been here twice before, always been fine no complaints. Seemed  fine as usual on arrival, lovely room and friendly service. Unfortunately the lovely staff didn't mention to us that the sex olympics were taking place in the room next to us. The "opening ceremony' began at 11pm and featured at least 2 current Olympic champion shaggers whom i suspect were maybe on performance enhancing substances. The batton was passed over several times and there was maybe even a tag team event on.After a near 2hr marathon session showed no sign of slowing down nor did the wailing which resembled a 1970s Yoko Ono album and was building in both frequency and volume we phoned reception to help. Maybe we should have phoned the police, the fire brigade or even a vet. As no action was taken we decided enough was enough and packed up to head home to Glasgow. Fair enough the staff did offer us another room but we just wanted home at this point. Also i fear the banging headboard could be heard in Dundee. No fault really to the hotel but if the cast of Pornhub are staying its not much cop if you want a sleep.

This beautiful accommodation and absolutely amazing restaurant served us such exquisite food. The staff were so warm towards us and bed was so comfy. Will definitely be back soon.

THE BEST PLACE FOR US

Spent 4 nights here with my 17yr old grandaughter. What can I say, excellent hotel clean,comfortable. Food was amazing and excellent value for money. Very well located for shops, harbour and local landmarks. What gives this hotel the edge is its excellent staff, helpful, outgoing and always eager to ensure we had a positive experience. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Excellent hotel 

The food was amazing, thoroughly enjoyed the chicken with peppercorn sauce, would highly recommend it. The staff were most helpful, polite and friendly, they could not do enough for us, credit to your hotel. We will most definitely be back, the cocktails were also fab.

Out for a meal with my friend

Delightful stay. Nice, clean comfortable room Hotel in a good location to go sight seeing. Staff were very nice and helpful. Lovely food for breakfast and dinner. Popular with locals. Handy for the theatre. There is a good bus/train service to be able to sightsee further. 

Great hotel.

We attended a friend’s wedding in Arbroath and stayed at The Townhouse for 3 nights.  Quite possibly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.  From the moment we checked in, nothing was any bother for any of the staff - they all are an absolute credit to the Hotel.  We ate in the hotel bar the first night, no complaints about the food and certainly none about the beer and the cocktails!!!  Breakfast was delicious as well!! Would certainly recommend this Hotel to anyone and we’ll certainly be back!! 

Great Hotel!

Enjoyed a mid week 2 day break at this hotel. The room was basic but had everything that was needed and was incredibly clean. Ate in the hotel on our first night and was very good. The thing that stands out about this hotel is the staff. I don't think I have ever had such pleasant and cheery people that went out of their way to make our visit so great
