I've been staying here for years, not every year but regularly. It's in a good spot, not too expensive and they take dogs. If it was smarter I couldn't afford it so I've continued to return even though it's maybe a bit tatty. 

This time the staff were great. They were cheerful and really helpful. Their attitude created a lovely warm atmosphere in the dining room. I don't think I've ever felt so comfortable eating on my own.

Excellent staff team

What a little gem the Arisaig Hotel was! We stopped for a meal on 15/09 and the food was outstanding. Lovely bar area that was very dog friendly and the gentleman who served us could not have been any friendlier or attentive. We have spent the last week travelling around the NC500 and this was by far the best meal we had. Would highly recommend and the gentleman who served us is a credit to the hotel - thank you! 

Great place, great food, great service!

Booked a meal same day for a large family meal including 2 vegans & the dog - very accommodating indeed - all food came out together & hot - Lovely server made sure we were all happy etc - Nice ambiance with someone playing guitar in the bar - The food was very good but the chips were off the scale! Very highly recommended - It was jam packed so would definitely advise booking

What a great find with the most amazing menu for everyone. Dog friendly and some good bands twice a week highly recommended. We are a large group but they are very accommodating in this busy pub. We didn’t use the hotel side. Good fish shop next door with lovely baked bread

A good find for meals and entertainment

We planned to be staying in 2020, but alas it was final 2022. They were so helpful in reschedule our stay, both times. We had visited 7 years ago but it was like we were there yesterday. Our visit is as great and we had an awesome time. The staff were fantastic, food great and a very good selection of beer. We will be back again.

We will be back

We stayed for 5 nights in the middle of this month (July 2022) & will be back! Staff fantastic - especially Gary, Paul & Lucia. View from room was amazing (Room 13).  Food in Crofter’s Rest was superb - would highly their venison dishes, the Hunter’s Chicken and the fish dishes. Only comment would be - the halloumi fries starter is extremely filling, & would make an excellent sharing platter to start or a lite bite/bar snack. We can’t fault quality or quantity! The restaurant fills up quickly vacancy/sitting wise, so make sure to book early. But, the hotel manager went out of his way to accommodate us on the one night we were stuck for food. 
They also put live music on, on a Friday evening & Sunday afternoon and this really is fantastic. A really nice touch. 
We will be back in future - the view from the outside seating/decking area is amazing, the staff made us feel so welcome & it’s Gary’s round next please!

First Visit - Will Definitely Be Back!

I don't know where those people stayed who posted such negative reviews but that has certainly not been our experience.

We have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed.  The room was good and clean.  There was a great choice on the menu even for my husband who is wheat-intolerant and myself as a veggie.

Staff are friendly and efficient.  We were particularly impressed with the speed of food delivery as the bar was very full with a band on and so we expected a wait.  And there was plenty of it - same for breakfast.

So I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Arisaig Hotel

Friendly, cosy and with good food

Room 13 - lovely view over the sea. Comfy bed good nights sleep - very quiet. The Bathroom shower is good but extractor fan on the ceiling needs a hoover, very dusty and shelving would be useful.
Breakfast fine - lots of choice. We saw a deer from the window in the garden.

A quiet nights sleep

We booked into The Crofters for dinner and we were greeted, settled and menu explained really quickly.
Food was good with lovely fresh fish and to be honest, my husband didn’t feel that he’d been charged enough for his starter, a wonderful smoked salmon mousse with lots of additional smoked salmon. The calamari was so tender, best I’ve had for a while. Mains of venison and fish and chips again didn’t disappoint. 
All in all a really great evening, with a shout out to Robbie, a friendly, knowledgeable young man. 
Definitely recommend but make sure you book to avoid disappointment

Fabulous and friendly

We came round to this place enthusiastically, but eventually.  The degree of online contact prior to arrival, after booking, was tiresome and impersonal.  Reception was bad and put us in a bad mood for several hours, the opposite of what it should do.  We had been asked to confirm our arrival time having previously advised it, did so, and arrived within ten minutes of our advised time and there was no one to greet us.  A sign pointed us to the bar to which we carried our heavy luggage.  At the bar the barman was busy but offered to find someone and then came back.  After what seemed like a longish wait a woman appeared and checked us in competently, but no apology for not being there, keeping us waiting, did not ask if we wanted help with our baggage and told us where our room was but did not take us to it.  The hotel side was empty.  This was very poor. What is more, having checked in we got an email asking us to rate check in.  We told them what we are telling you.

Our superior room was excellent and clean.  The sink plug had no chain.  Shower good.

The food -avoiding the necessary burger and chips food for the tourist trade- was excellent.  We had calamari, scallops and pana cotta.  Decent basic wines.  We ate twice at the Old Library and here's a surprise, the food at the Arisaig is better cooked and was served quickly.

The place had livened up by Tuesday and we had grown fond if it.

Fix Reception, it does you no favours.
