We had an amazing 2 night stay at the Smiddy.

We had eaten here before and the food was always exceptional, so. Was lovely to have an room for our weekend away 

The room was absolutely spotless, and a very comfortable bed for a great night sleep.

2 comfy chairs also to relax and watch TV.

Breakfast was excellent with produce that was evidently local and good quality.

We ate there both nights, as previously said we knew the food was exceptional, and good value for money.

Jasper is of course the most wonderful host. 🐕🐕🐾🐾

Top class

Myself and a small group of friends stayed here for an evening.  Only regret, not eating in the restaurant in the evening as the menu looked great!  

Breakfast was fab the following day and thank you Nicky and Laura of course in the bar - we had a great time.

Welcoming and very friendly

A beautiful family run pub (with rooms and restaurant) with a very friendly service! Nikki and Richard have been fantastic hosts and will do everything they can to make you feel welcome. The Rooms are very comfortable, breakfast will set you up for the day and the beers and evening meals will finish off the day. All in all a very good place to call home. Thanks guys, we look forward to returning.

Great service, Very friendly, Home from home.

After getting the opportunity to play at Gleneagles  golf course, we looked on TA for decent local accommodation.

The Smiddy Haugh had great reviews , so we booked in using Booking.com.  The booking was easy and communication prior to our stay was easy and quick through the app. 

We were met by Niki who welcomed us as we entered the bar, and explained where the best place to park was (round the rear of the property). She then showed us to our room and gave us details for breakfast the following morning. 

We had a twin room , with comfy beds, a decent shower and had good nights sleep. 

We enjoyed the evening in the restaurant / bar area , enjoying many pints of Ossian and starters of soup , and a seriously nice Cullen Skink .   Mains of burgers and Scampi were also good . Service from Rich and Niki was really friendly and swift. All the people in the bar were friendly and happy to chat, sharing tips for our day’s golf to come. 

Breakfast , pre-ordered the evening before, was hot, tasty and a decent size .

Overall this is a really friendly, cosy place to stay with great food and service, brilliantly positioned a couple of miles from Gleneagles.

Great base for Gleneagles

This is a brilliant place, I'm so glad it was recommended to us by the owners at whitemoss Pods. The pub is so cosy, welcoming, and friendly. Food was lovely and very reasonably priced. We stayed nearby at the pods and ate here 2 nights. Would definitely return if in the area. 

Amazing find

Had a lovely, leisurely lunch meeting up with old friends.  The Thai chickpea burger was absolutely delicious and not one of us left the table feeling hungry. 
Warm welcome and cosy space.
Very much recommend.

We arrived at the smiddy haugh to be greeted by the most friendly amazing staff that adore dogs, making our dog feel just as at home as us with blankets and treats!!  They made us feel right at home, being so kind and accommodating. We had a 3 course meal as celebrating a birthday and every meal was 10/10!! We enjoyed ourselves that much we had returned for a second night and the standards were faultless. Would highly recommend to visit.  

Such a friendly, homely environment and amazing staff

The friendly hosts couldn’t do enough to make our stay more welcome.  An excellent Breakfast was served at a mutually convenient time.  The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Free parking.  

Excellent accommodation and friendly service

My husband and I have just returned from a superb stay.  We wanted a totally chilled time and that's exactly what we got. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like friends.  We decided to have a drink first before heading to our room. We sat near the log fire and enjoyed our drinks brought to our table by Laura. Our room was large, clean, warm, with a large shower room and a VERY comfy bed. Large television with full Sky package completed the excellent room. The owners Niki and Rich were excellent hosts, and along with Laura, honestly made us feel like family; their service went above and beyond. Food and drink were excellent. Leaving the best until last...we LOVED meeting Jasper. The most friendly, beautiful dog...we fell in love with him. We were sad to leave and  shall certainly be back, maybe in the summer so that we can use the beer garden. Thanks for all you done for us, we were VERY well looked after. Shell and Chris xxx

SUPERB STAY 

Visited the area for a birthday trip to the local distillery. Super friendly local pub with rooms and restaurant. Greeted with a smile from the start, such a lovely welcome from everyone from the owners to the manager to the staff. We stopped 2 nights and were treated so so well!
Sampled the beer, cider and a dram or two then recovered with a great breakfast the following morning
