Chris and Val were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Val had lots of great ideas for places to visit and even provided detailed maps. Everything we did while there was delightful. The breakfast was lovely every morning and the view at all hours was breathtaking.

Wonderful place to stay

We stayed at Roth Ach in end of Aug 2021.  Our room (blue room) had two large windows, one with a panoramic view of the sea.  The room was clean and comfortable.  The shower was a stand out - amazing space and water flow.  The breakfast was very good - and perfect coffee.  The hosts were warm and welcoming - we recommend this B&B

Wonderful hideaway

I spent a couple of nights here a couple of weeks ago.  It was a last minute get away to recharge my batteries, which it certainly did. 
It was amazing. I received a lovely warm welcome when I arrived.  Chris and Val are so nice and couldn't do enough to make your stay perfect.
I received a lovely pot of tea and a home made scone to welcome me to Roth Ach.
The house is beautiful and immaculately clean. The bed was very comfy.
It is in a fantastic location giving you a fantastic view of the sea from all windows. 
It is also a great location for exploring the surrounding area. 
Avoch is a beautiful little village with a small harbour and beach. 
There are fantastic sandy beaches very close by at Fortrose and Rosemarkie and Cromarty is well worth a visit.
If you are lucky you could spot some dolphins :-)
I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend a stay here.

A most enjoyable stay :-)

This venue is sighted above the Moray firth in the village of Avoch. The views  are spectacular and the house is immaculate in its setting and superb accommodation. Chris & Val are the perfect hosts and they are really concerned that their guests have everything they need and will go the extra mile to achieve satisfaction. The breakfast is truly scrumptious and the variety of food and drink  on offer is truly wonderful. For the price and overall customer satisfaction Roth Ach cannot be beaten.Book here and you will be glad you did.

The best B&B we have visited

Booked last minute and received a lovely warm welcome. Our room was beautiful, spotlessly clean... comfortable bed...delicious breakfast and really enjoyed the homemade shortbread. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable and welcoming 

We had a great three night stay at Roth Ach just after lockdown had been lifted in Scotland. Chris and Val were very welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay just right. Our room was comfortable, clean and bright and the view of Avoch beach was so beautiful and for ever changing. The bed was super comfy and the shower was great. Nice touch with the eco friendly toiletries. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection and lovely fresh fruit.  As a veggie I was pleased to get a decent portion of beans, mushrooms etc as sometimes you get the same as the meat eater but without the meat. The cheese on toast was the best I’ve ever had.  We went to see the dolphins at Chanonry Point twice a day and were lucky enough to see them 5/6 times. You always end up spending more time watching dolphins than you planned so we had very long days out. Val and Chris were full of helpful advice and even let us bring our take away tea back to the breakfast room. There were lots of lovely walks nearby and we had a great time. Thankyou both for your  hospitality and we wish you well for the rest of season.

Perfect stay - Remembering my descendants 

Spent three enjoyable nights with Val & Chris. Our rooms were immaculately clean and flooded with light. The window view over the Firth was worthy of any Scottish calendar. A warm welcome from Val and her detailed knowledge of local attactions was outstanding. The breakfasts cooked by Chris were varied and all were excellent. This is what you hope and dream that every B&B would be like. They have seriously set a standard that others will have a difficult time matching and Val & Chris have done so with grace and warmth. Thank you

Superlatives well deserved

We chose to stay here because the reviews were much better than the places nearer where we wanted to stay. 

Chris and Val are a lovely welcoming couple and their home is in a wonderful location. Both windows in our room had sea views and we kept our curtains open so we could enjoy the spectacular view when we woke up. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom, and the bed was the comfiest we have ever slept in. The homemade complimentary ginger shortbread was as delicious as the previous reviewers had said. 

I was a little nervous about all sitting around the one table for breakfast (there are only 3 bedrooms) but I needn’t have been. It helped break the ice and we got to know some lovely couples whilst we were there. There is a varied choice of breakfast and, again, there is a wonderful sea view to accompany the tasty food. 

Val is a font of knowledge about the area and recommended some great places to visit. 

We would highly recommend this place and are hoping to return next year. 

Home from home

Everything that everyone else has said is true--phenomenal hosts, setting, breakfast, and accommodations. Cooked-to-order breakfasts include a huge selection--eggs from a nearby farm, homemade scones and selection of jams, fresh fruit. One of my favorite extras was the ginger shortbread, made by Chris, that appeared each day in our room on the coffee/tea tray. 

We have stayed in lots and lots of B&Bs--this one is among the best ever.
