Afternoon tea for two. A beautiful location with stunning panoramic views. Food was plentiful and to a high standard - tea was really good and loose leaf - service friendly. The experience could not have been better. Really glad we went and will definitely return.

Fantastic Afternoon Tea

We had a family reunion last weekend and all twenty of us stayed at the hotel. We had an amazing time thanks to the great staff who were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and service was great. The rooms were clean and lovely as was the rest of the hotel. Really nice setting and the area is perfect for a relaxing getaway. There are great walks withing a short drive and beautiful Lyme Regis is also just down the road. We will definitely be back and will recommend to friends and family!

Fantastic stay!

After having watched the TV show, this hotel reminded me of the show.  The owner in particular could have played John Cleese’s role.  He was very welcoming to our small group tour and made us feel welcome.  Dinner was delicious and flowed at the perfect pace.  I did notice that other guests at the hotel had to sit at certain tables assigned to them and a few of those guests feathers were ruffled more than a little as a result.  Breakfast was average.  On the tour we had had better selection elsewhere.  It would have been nice to see the garden, but the weather was not very cooperative.  Bed was very comfy and yes there was not much room for your suitcases.  All in all a good stay.

Fawkty Towers

We stayed during October.  We got a very warm welcome from the landlady, very welcoming and very pleasant.  We got shown to our room. Which was a pleasant room, nice and clean with tea and coffee facilities.  We had 2 nights of pleasant dinner meals and breakfasts.  On the first night I found our room cold, but did not mention this as felt it could have been my fault for not turning the radiator on higher.  However the second night was just as cold even though the radiator was turned up to high. I had however found a fan heater in the cupboard, but its not ideal to leave this on over night. Our stay was pleasant and all the staff were friendly. Our stay could have been made much nicer if it had not have been for the grumpy landlord. Both my husband and I felt that he was unapproachable and made us feel like he was doing us a favour, whenever we ordered anything or asked questions. He came across as though it was an inconvenience for us to be staying in his hotel. 
However, what did make the stay worth while, was the fact that we met a really nice family and they made our stay really enjoyable. 

Lovely landlady, Grumpy landlord

Stayed here on a tour, Room was very small,not much room for  2 suitcases,shower only let out a treacle of cold water, we had to use the bath. Toilet  moved on the floor when you sat on it.
Breakfast was very basic.The owner was very rules based and everything had to be done on his timing & his way. Including when you paid for your drinks just as we were leaving. He was very business like & serious.I think he is lucky we didn’t arrive till 6.00pm, ate dinner, slept & left by 9.00 am. Or maybe we were lucky.

I’ll Do It My Way

Just back from a superb afternoon tea in the hotel’s Laura Ashley tea room. Lovely sandwiches, tiny warm quiches, smoked salmon croissants, excellent scones and some very naughty chocolatey treats. As it was our wedding anniversary, we added a glass of fizz too. The food was excellent but what made it extra special was the genuinely warm welcome. We felt very looked after. It’s a beautiful and tranquil spot, with gorgeous views and is dog friendly - something we love. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

Superb afternoon tea 

I was recently in the area to visit friends who live very close to the hotel. One of the nicest places I've ever stayed. The setting is beautiful and so peaceful and the staff were exceptional. Room was clean and comfortable. I didn't have dinner there but the breakfast was first class and I could find nothing to dislike about the whole experience of staying here. I'm not sure if I'm likely to be in the area again but if you find yourselves visiting I could wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

Recent visit

It was our second visit to this hotel,and a great deal of refurbishment had been carried out since our last visit.
We had a very pleasant room overlooking the garden.
Food was extremely good as also was the service,a brilliant waiter Aron who was always on hand.
Will we return to this hotel....Yes most definitely.

Enjoyable Easter Break

We have visited this hotel on five different occasions over the past nine years.  We are always met with a friendly welcome at this family run hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean.  We always know that the food is going to be excellent and as usual booked on a dinner bed and breakfast offer emailed by the hotel.This year they have a new chef and we weren’t disappointed with the menu, quality of produce or the actual cooking. We ate over looking the Dorset countryside witnessing some superb sunsets. Each course was beautifully presented and our personal dietary requirements were catered for. The hotel is a good base for Lyme Regis, west Dorset, east Devon and south Somerset. We look forward to another visit in the not too distant future.

Another great visit to this hidden gem

I have just spent a few very relaxing few days at the Fairwater Head Hotel this is a return visit and have always enjoyed my stays at this dog friendly hotel the staff are always brilliant and cater for all our needs. This year the experience has been enhanced by the arrival of a new chef and an new exciting menu and wonderfully cooked food. As we stayed four nights were able to sample the delights of the menu and enjoyed all of my choices. I hope to be returning soon so I can further indulge myself in the food and service provided.
