What a rip  off

I naively booked this via another well known booking site based on their description and pictures. In hindsight I perhaps should have read few more reviews.

I paid my 2 nights on arrival and was taken to the room which bore no resemblance to the advertising blurb.
Wonky door handle, insubstantial lock and the room itself was dated 1970s cheap furniture and bed. It was cold , damp, smelled musty and the "sea view" was just about visible as a small strip in the distance.
The was no reception on the TV and the so called High Speed WIFI was non existent.

I've honestly stayed in better appointed truck stops in my time.

I decided there and then I wasn't staying  and asked for a refund.

Due to a clause on the booking site I was required to forfeit the first nights fee, despite having spent all of 10 mins in the room.

This is quite honestly the most gross example of misrepresentation and false advertising I have ever come across.
Part of me wishes I'd stayed the first night just to see how bad the shower, the bar and the breakfast would be which , going by other reviews would have been dire.

The proprietors should not be allowed to continue with this , it's disgraceful. 


Terrible place

Where do I start.....initial thoughts to the guest house when we arrived was it seemed to be ok but not brilliant like other stays we have had at other places cheaper than this place. First encounter was the loose door handles as we entered the room and then the curtains coming off the rail. Very dated room and decor but the bed not so bad. The room also had a very fusty smell about it. Shortly after this, we realised the water from the bathroom tap was cold but we managed and when we left for evening to go out, there was no one at reception to report this to. The following morning, there was no hot water from the taps and then the shower. I called reception and she advised they would look into this and come back to us. No shower and I had to heat up water in the kettle to wash myself at the sink. When we went down for breakfast, when asked was the issue was resolved, we replied that no one had come back to us. She totally ignored our response. Breakfast was mediocre, have had better. Dirty cereal bowls and very small selection of cereals, nothing like what is shown on the photographs. At check out, I stated that we were not happy with the stay at all and requested that we get some sort of refund. The owner I am assuming, said all the switches were on and working for the water but had no idea where the issue was but he was not open to any criticism  whatsoever and became very defensive. Offered a £10 discount to which I said was not acceptable.  He then said, well take it or leave it and left the reception area in a huff. What a rude man! Never have we encountered such behaviour and such arrogance. My advice to anyone who is looking to book this place, please avoid at all costs. Please check out his responses to unhappy customers in booking.com, this will reassure you. I'm not one for leaving bad reviews but in this case, it had to be done. The money was not an issue, it was the principal of the matter.

Worse stay ever!

We did not actually stay, however I thought it worth making an excellent review in the circumstances.  We had booked, but had to cancel our entire trip a couple of days out due to an acute family illness.  Despite being beyond the cancellation policy period, they agreed o waive the fee, I am guessing on compassionate grounds.  I therefore recommend this business as customer friendly  and ethical, which is not always the case, in todays world.  We intend to stay if we get to go to Northern Ireland in the future.

Loved our experience at Glenmore House.  It was easy to find, large rooms and very well kept grounds.  Options available if you have a camper or tent instead.  The host and hostess were well-informed of the local area and very friendly.
Breakfast was delicious and the views across the Irish Sea to the Mull of Kyntire in Scotland were amazing!

Comfy with great views!

We came across Glenmore guesthouse on our travels down the causeway coastal road. The staff were really welcoming and the facilities decent. We enjoyed the brekkie in the morning. If you stay, would recommend taking a walk to the seated area on the hill and watch the sunset, absolutely beautifil. Thanks for the stay x

One night visit to ballycastle

The rooms were basic and comfortable. However the whole place was run down and in need of redecoration. The House is also dealing with the camp site and rather overworked. 
The communal areas were not comfortable and not appealing
the breakfast was fine

Nice people, but could not recommend

Stayed in two different B&Bs at the weekend with Glenmore House been the most expensive and not half as good as the other. I always got the feeling the guests were nothing more than a necessary evil and never made feel welcome. The rooms were fine although they were cold and the shower was broke which meant the head had to be held in one hand. Breakfast was only OK.  I asked if the coffee pot could be refilled and was told it could but it never was. This wasn't an accident as about 5 minutes after asking I asked again and still nothing. Extra charge to pay by card is a joke. The worst bit for me a as when we asked if a taxi could be arranged to bring 6 of us into town and the owner contacted some neighbour with a clapped out Mondeo who was obviously not a taxi so not insured. These people only treat their customers as a cash cow and nothing more. 

Wouldn't stay here again

Great position right on the coast owners were running it very friendly had dinner there too met up with half a dozen American they loved it too
Very nice bedroom would stay up stairs next time as very noisey door in our Corridor
