We had 
called in for a drink the previous week, and were surprised how friendly and welcoming the owners were, so we decided to call in for a meal yesterday. What  a good decision that was. We both had steak which was lovely, and the service and price was excellent too. Well done The Romany Inn, we will be returning soon.

SUPER.

We stayed for 3 nights, in a wonderful garden Room. The bed was comfy, and the food divine. We felt safe as every effort is taken with social distancing, alcohol gel etc, but still had a 'normal' relaxing stay. Little touches like real flowers on the tables, and in the bathroom; just lovely. Mike and Glynis are so warm and welcoming, and go out of their way to ensure a relaxing stay. We'll definitely be back.

Lovely long weekend.

We popped by for dinner as Christmas had left us tuckered out. We received a lovely warm welcome from the owner as soon as we walked in. Got a table in the window, ordered our food, and it was with us in no time at all! Absolutely delicious, locally sourced and very well priced. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a good meal in a friendly atmosphere!

Delicious food, friendly owner!

we booked the Romany inn with laterooms.com on the 18/07/2017 so that was nearly a months notice of our intended stay which was on the 16/08 2017, we drove up from Sussex (3 hours) and arrived at 14.00 which was great as that was our booking in time.
alarm bells started to ring when the Romany inn was shut and no lights on, we rang the inn but got no answer - being a small village we thought maybe they were some where about, we then went for a cup of tea in the local tea room.
at 15.00 we went back to the Romany inn and tried the doorbell and tried to phone them again - you guessed it no one was there, we phoned at 15.30 and 16.00 but still no answer.
we had no choice but to ring Laterooms.com and ask what was going on, they were very good and tried to get hold of the owner but failed, we were now stuck in a little village in Oxford.
Laterooms.com rang us back again but had no luck finding the owners so we were given directions to another inn at Burford called the HIGHWAY INN ( see this review).
we did come across and old gent who told us the inn does not open until the evening !!!!, this was not the welcome we were expecting, 
we have no idea what the inn is like or the rooms or food - we chose this inn because of the reviews it had got but we definitely won,t be trying to book up here again.
the only good thing to come out of this was Laterooms.com who were brilliant and rung us in the evening to make sure we were ok and settled into our new accommodation.
they finally got hold of the owner of the Romany inn and all he had to say was sorry !!
well a big thanks for that and the worst customer service ever.

Have no idea whats inside

We stayed here for one night to attend a friends party nearby. The owner was friendly on our arrival. He remained friendly but the room and facilities were not good. The room smelt of damp and decor is in urgent need of upgrading. The bathroom lino was peeling and dirty. The main fault was that the shower did not work at all and when I mentioned this I didn't get any kind of apology. All I got was a poor excuse that a button must have been pressed in at the back. No such button existed and the shower was definitely not functioning. No wifi. The cooked breakfast was basic, cold apart from the eggs, and included bacon that was simply cold, hard and flavourless. The price is £60 but with Air BnB as competition I can't see this price as attractive. A room with no functioning shower is unfortunately very poor and I would not recommend this at all. 

Rather a let down

Spent the weekend at the Romany Inn at Bampton when attending a wedding in the area. A lovely old pub with excellent character and atmosphere. The rooms were clean and well presented. The location is fantastic and Mike and his wife were welcoming and helpful. It's not the Ritz but it's not Ritz prices. Excellent breakfast and had and excellent steak in the pub. Can recommend 100%.

Lovely Pub / Hotel

Lovely quite location. Mike the Land lord was very helpful, friendly nothing was to much trouble. We stayed for 2 nights and the breakfast and evening meal was one of the best meals we have had. Will definitely be back.

Warm welcoming

Very welcoming and very comfortable traditional Gerorgian Inn-and in an excellent location. The owner is really friendly, the prices are good. You don't need chain hotels when independents are as good as this!! We'll definitely be back!!
