Could not fault our stay, lovely hosts. Room was faultless well worth the money, really nice all round. Sea view is a must, bed was very comfortable, the fridge in the room was a rare touch. We will be staying again and again and can't wait to visit again thank you!

Brilliant

Just came back from a lovely long weekend,  crestwave guest house, was amazing, room 6, was lovely, had lovely day's out, and the thought of coming back to wavecrest, was amazing, we couldn't wait to go back to our room and cosy up and watching the sunset, and weather coming in of the sea. Loved our stay, highly recommended place to stay, thanks again 

Fantastic stay 

Yet again I returned to Wavecrest for a long weekend and this time I was in room 6. I've sampled rooms 1, 3 and 6 now and this was the best with a superb view of the sea and beach; worth the climb up two long flights of stairs.

There is ample parking just across from the house and if you are lucky then you get to park free on the street, otherwise you have to pay at the meter with coins or with the PayByPhone app on a mobile phone. No credit-card payment and over £11 for 24 hours; that's a lot of coins.

Room 6 has a shower with ample hot water. The room has a kettle and small fridge, good lighting, and a very comfortable bed. A front door key is provided and guests can come and go as they will.

Breakfast is not provided but the co-op is nearby, just over the railway lines,  and I stocked up there with cereal, bread, fruit juice and milk. It is open on Sunday but for reduced hours.

Be warned that Chris and Zelanie don't like guests to bring in takeaway foods for fear of grease stains. Fortunately the weather was kind and we were able to eat our (generous) Yung Chow fried rice from Good Luck, next to the Dragon Theatre, at the table in the front garden.

Room six was best yet

Just returned from a 4 Day stay in Barmouth, and this is the Perfect location. We’ve been coming to see Chris and Zellanie now for 6 years and their hospitality never seems to fail. We stayed in Room 10, which had an incredible sea view! The room was quite high up, but the views were definately worth it! Room was decent size, mini fridge, TV, shower, tea & coffee facilities. They have a small front garden to chill out and enjoy the beautiful sunset. Upon request they will go out there way and ensure your service is first class. Chris has vast knowledge of the area and always encourages you to financially support the local town, which I personally thought was brilliant. We’ve always enjoyed Barmouth and this is like our second home! Thanks Chris for being a great host and we will definitely be back soon!!

Brilliant Stay….. yet again!!

We stayed at Wavecrest for the weekend. I couldn’t ever fault our experience! We had a fantastic time and the hosts were amazing. They made it feel like home, we were so happy with everything. If you’re ever looking for someone to stay in barmouth, this is your place. We will soon be returning!!! We miss Dave the dog so much haha! 

AMAZING!!

On arrival, we were left on the doorstep as they had their own guests visiting, given a key to our room, advised there was no room servicing or fresh towels  for the duration of our stay but that a continental breaskfast would be delivered to our room each morning at 7.30.  Apart from a brief glimpse of chris in town and walking their dog at the beach - they were nowhere to be seen during our stay. 

Room -  Although our room was clean and included the use of a tiny fridge which you could barely put anything in - there was little more to credit this accommodation. The water for tea/coffee was not replenished so you had to refill from the bathroom tap.  The showerhead did not fit properly and was too heavy for the holder - it would not stay in position. The toilet seat did not fit properly and moved when used. Very strangely on the last morning, TV did not work (no signal) and the lights came on and could not be switched off ???? - think this was our hint to leave ???? .

"Continental Breakfast" was only delivered on two of the  three mornings with no explanation!!! It was of the poorest quality - consisted of the cheapest ingredients - a cheap prepackaged pain au chocolate, a carton of orange juice, an apple (only 2 out of the 4 were edible - the others were rotten/bruised), a cheap yoghurt and a kelloggs rice krispie cereal bar. In my opinion, they would be better providing quality products or reducing price of accommodation - there are plenty of other accommodations in Barmouth offering better quality bed and breakfasts for either less or same price.

We were looking to find another little gem to add to our places to stay but unfortunately this was not it ! What a shame!

Disappointed

I've stayed at the Wavecrest three times now and will continue to do so. The owners are Chris and Zelanie and are very friendly and helpful. There is ample parking very close and if you are lucky there is parking immediately outside.

Room 1 was immaculate and had a kettle, a small fridge, and a useful line-socket for my laptop and phone-charger. 

When I wrote this Chris and Zelanie were  taking covid-precautions by not providing daily cleaning and not providing breakfast. I was slightly taken aback when Chris told me this since it wasn't mentioned on the web-site, but it wasn't a great inconvenience. There is an excellent Co-op just the other side of the railway station and when I got back from there, stocked up with milk, orange juice, croissants and cheese, Chris popped out and offered a continental breakfast delivered to my bedroom door.

Tip: Be warned, the Co-op is closed on Sunday so make preparations on Saturday for Monday breakfast.

I can remember, sixty decades ago, sheltering from the rain because we weren't allowed in the B&B during the day. Wavecrest is nothing like that. I was given a room key and a front-door key and we are free to come and go when we want.

Tip: If you can't get the front-door key to work then try pulling the door until it clicks and is properly closed.

Tip: Don't expect to be able to buy a take-away and bring it back to eat in your room. It leaves a pungent smell and has marked the velvet curtain.

Lovely traditional seaside B & B first impressions count.  Friendly welcome from the owners and very informative nothing was too much trouble. The place was spotlessly clean. Will we return it’s a yes from us👍🏻. It’s location on front is perfect thank you for a lovely break and we haven’t left yet 😂

Arrived at this guest house and found a warm welcome from owner Chris. Room was very clean and made to feel very welcome. And would recommend. Not serving breakfast at this time which we were told before hand.

Weekend Break

My elderly parents have just stayed at this guest house. I'm discusted with how they have been dealt with. They originally asked for a room with no stairs however when they arrived they were put on a floor with 4 flights of stairs. They were asked to leave on the 2nd night for "breaking the rules ". This infringement was my mum leaving the external door open for my dad who has recently had an operation and was much slower than her. They had a phone thrust at them showing my mum leaving the door open. They tried to explain but as dad was so slow he wasn't on the video. I can't believe that someone could be so callous. Avoid at all costs!
