Stayed for a family wedding at a nearby venue. Communication good and early check in arranged so we could get ready for the wedding. Rooms definitely dated and in need of modernisation, but bedding and towels clean. Good tv in our room and plenty of tea/coffee plus access to a shared kitchen. Bed comfortable, shower good but in a confined space. Overall cleanliness not brilliant, nasty smell when we arrived. Overall this place is fine for a single nights stay, but pricy and not good value when compared to the quality of somewhere like a Premier Inn these days.

One night stay for wedding.

My wife, my 2 Goddaughters stayed at Easton Guest House in Easton, Norwich from 23-25th August 2021. We had Apartment 6, initially, we loved the size of the rooms, it was spacious and layout of the apartment. However, upon closer inspection, one of the dining chairs, the spinal was broken, the stool in the kitchen area was very wobbly, and the toaster only toast the bread on one side. The shower is very powerful which is good but the shower holder was loose so hard to have a shower without holding the shower head. No locks on the toilet door. The floors throughout is very creaky. The beds were comfortable but the mattresses are hard but we liked it but not for everyone. The building used be a restaurant which still comes up on Google search. The positive are It is all self-catering, there is parking space for you, tea, milk, towels, bedding, dining area, breakfast area, kitchen  bin bags, washing up stuff are all supplied. You need to buy fresh milk, food for cooking especially for breakfast, pans, and kitchen utensils are supplied though.
Overall, despite some negative, it was good place to stay and would recommend if your a parent/single parents with 2 kids.  


Spacious and comfortable overall 

Lovely clean apartment, large airy and well equipped but absolutely no soundproofing between us and upstairs. The sound of footsteps and voices was bearable at reasonable times of the day - that is until 3.45am this morning when the occupants above the bedroom obviously decided the furniture configuration was not to their taste. For an hour and a half it sounded as if large pieces of furniture were being dragged, scraped  and banged across the floor above. voices and footsteps as clear as if they were in the same room.  Furious is an understatement when you’ve got over 200 miles to drive a few hours later and you’re knackered.

Clean but no soundproofing!

Check in was very easy by only using a code to unlock the door. There’re some doors inside this accommodation which seems like to be connected to different rooms or somewhere in the whole guest house. It might be my own issue, I didn’t feel secure enough to sleep in this ground floor apartment. 

The host provided breakfast boxes. That’s very kind. 

Ground floor apartment 

Good - Self service, code to get in, come and go as you please. Clean. 

Not so good - non existent taxi services around. Taxis have to come from Norwich as we were informed the apartments are ‘out in the sticks’ minimum £20 fare. Apartments very close together and you can hear everything!!! Pumping up tires at 6am/people shouting etc. The car park is noisy and right next to the rooms. Not much sleep was had!

Visit for a wedding - basic

Having read the previous reviews I was VERY apprehensive. My assistant had booked the room and when I was travelling to the guesthouse I read that I needed an access code as the property wasn’t staffed. 

I followed the instructions and clear details were provided. 

On arrival I wasn’t overly impressed with the communal entrance being unsecured and the view of two topless men chilling in their room but it was warm.

The property is accessed by a key code lock. No problem there but once inside you realise that this is the only lock between you and anyone else coming in (I don’t know who else has the code etc). To resolve this a bolt on the inside would have been appreciated and would have afforded peace of mind. 

Anyway I was on the first floor so minimum noise and the facilities were fine. I would have appreciated black out curtains and a tv in the bedroom but all small things that would help to increase the rating to four star.

I doubt I would return until an internal lock is fitted but other than that all fine. 

Last minute booking

Struggled to get entry code(which I didn’t know we needed) room ok. Over powering smell of cannabis coming from open windows of an apartment in the same building. Two guys were sleeping in a van in the rear car park ??? 
Discovered in the morning that there was NO handle on the large window. So was always unlocked and could be opened from the outside !! Thankfully we didn’t have to go out. Left early thd next morning. Plusses ?? Can’t think of any

Poor

Strange set up. No reception, you are given an access code for the room. Room OK, we were out most of the time so only used it mainly for sleeping at night. Sheets and towels were not changed for the 2nd day, not was there any more tea/coffee left in room. Noisy, with doors banging and loud guests. Ample parking. It is OK for 1 or 2 nights, but I would not stay there longer.

Okish

Room extremely outdated, very poorly decorated, shower room had a hairdryer from what seemed like the 80’s. No shower doors, just a curtain that does not prevent water getting on the floor making it sopping wet…

Sleep was ok and that’s the only positive, spent £52 on this room for 1 night and I wouldn’t pay more than £30 for something like this. No management on site, fire alarm went off at 11:30 at night for no obvious reason taking 15 mins to reset. Check in is via phone call to a management company…

This room is at a push worth no more than £30, only stay here if you are desperate.

Only reason it’s 2 star is we slept well…

Basic accommodation in need of some decorating and updating. The room was not very clean, especially the tea tray. The glasses were covered in tea stains and fingerprints.We had room 9 which is adapted for the handicapped. The high, uncovered toilet was so close to the hand basin you were frightened of dropping things down the loo. Not sure the room is spacious enough for a wheelchair?.Noise from the upstairs rooms is also quite loud. The positives are that it is close to Norwich, there is a fish shop nearby and also a bus route. The entry code worked well as there is no reception and there is parking.
