Hotel staff, lovely, room was perfect, breakfast and dinner lovely,  very friendly and a lovely place to stay. Absolutely stunning views over the River. A credit to all the staff. Can't wait to come back . Never stayed here before, but felt very comfortable, home from home .

Visiting family

Another year passes of staying at the Embankment. Always treated well with great service and attention from the team. Always choose the same room if I can, well equipped and spacious, bath, freebie biscuits, tea and coffees. Me and Rob wouldn't stay anywhere else. Happy Christmas too all the Embankment and see you in 2024.

Home from Home

The staff were very very nice nothing was too much trouble, they passed messages on without prompt, they were attentive and seemed to be interested in my wants and needs. I was only there for one night and had drinks and dinner and i am very pleased with my stay and would be happy to stay here again, the rooms were more than i expected, clean, lots of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, the weather was cold when i stayed and the hotel and bar were toasty walm and inviting. it was a pleasure to stay here, i only wish it was longer. x x x

We stayed here for before park concerts which was within walking distance

Excellent boutique style hotel

The Embankment Hotel is in a stunning location on the river and only a few minutes walk into town. We were lucky to find a space in the car park & got a lovely warm welcome at check in.  Our room was small but very clean & comfortable with everything we needed - TV, tea & coffee, sockets, body wash etc.  We didn't have dinner in the hotel, although the dining room looked beautiful & cosy, but did enjoy a few cocktails in the bar later.  There's a VERY tempting list!  Breakfast is also served in the bar area.  The veggie breakfast was tasty but quite healthy with beans, spinach, mushroom & tomato. We could have done with some fried bread, hash browns and a couple of veggie bangers! Just be aware that the car park is very small and you may need to park off site.  Overall it's a great find, with lovely staff, in a super location - highly recommended!

Great location, friendly staff, good value

We had a amazing stay hope to.be back after Christmas we from Chesterfield well I'm originally from Bedford but came back down to see family  the embankment hotel was amazing with great food and services loved it 

Fantastic stay friendly staff and amazing food

Booked for the night before our gig at Knebworth as we had a long journey from Scotland. 
Booked 2 rooms and they were ideal for an overnight stay.
Not loads of space but it was very clean with a good hot shower.
Staff were very friendly, we got checked in quickly and our table we had pre-booked for dinner reserved for us outside while we took our bags upstairs after the journey down we all needed a drink and a bite to eat!
Service was good our drinks and food came out in good time and everyone enjoyed their meals.
Breakfast again was good and set us up on our way for our gig.
Breakfast staff again lovely and friendly.
All in all a good stay and would definitely return if ever down that way again.

Pre-gig stay

Stayed overnight and had breakfast. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very well-prepared and presented. The bar and terrace give pleasant views over the river. Overall very enjoyable and great value.

Enjoyable stay, great value

The customer service was exceptional.  Very accommodating to any and all of my requests.  This is a quaint hotel with a bed and breakfast feeling.  The rooms are a bit dated.  Excellent location right on the river not too far from towne center.  I would stay here again if in Bedford.

Outstanding Customer Service

On Friday 28th of july, after delivering a wedding cake to the Swan Hotel, Bedford, my husband and I fancied lunch, as wwe left the Swan, we saw The Embankment Hotel, It looked very pleasant, so we went in. The menu was very good with lots of choice, starter ,we shared was good, the main was a   beautiful.portion of  hake,  beautifully cooked in butter, with baby new potatoes,  and
Rocket, in fact this was my only disappointment, Personally I hate rocket, served with the starter,and the main meal, our preference would be some nice vegetables, runner beans , cauliflower, or even frozen peas. So many restaurants, now are using rocket ,inplace of side salads and vegetables. The staff were fantastic, our waitress was able to explain all the food as she had tried it  personally. Very. Attentive and supplied all our needs. We will be returning.


Very good meal, please ditch the rockett and bring back vegetables Pam and Rolande Howey
