Another excellent value breakfast while travelling south .Open 24hrs so great for early morning trips .A welcoming oasis right on the A1 . Absolutely no complaints .Would recommend for anyone travelling on A1 for coffee /snacks or hot food 

Our usual breakfast stop 

Would definitely go back again. Staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic in the evening. Lovely little bar area where our dog was made welcome. Rooms very clean, nice deep bath and comfortable beds. Breakfast was very nice. Kids enjoyed it too. Great location if you want a base to travel around Northumberland. Very good price for a family room.

Will definitely book again.

We were in a minor emergency situation and only booked the hotel an hour or so before arriving! Fortunately they had a room and for 2 nights at a very good price, including breakfast. It is a lovely motel style hotel and our room was very modern and clean. No central heating but the heater was very good and the room warmed up quickly. The breakfast was lovely, the Xmas tree and decor very nice and we used the bar too during our stay. Parking ideal too…right outside the entrance. Would definitely return. Location perfect for Holy Island, Bambrugh and Berwick. 

Lovely accommodation 

Excellent stay at Purdy Lodge, it was a perfect location for our family weekend break visiting Alnwick, Wooler and Bamburgh. 
Freshly re-decorated throughout including our room and spotlessly clean. 
We all enjoyed dinner, my gluten free dietary requirements were well catered for and there was a  separate children's menu.
Breakfast was very nice with good choices. 
All staff were friendly and helpful. 
Our family room was at the end of the corridor and was so quiet, we didn't hear any noise at all. 
We were concerned that the room was chilly on arrival. The only heating is from an electric heater and there was no socket close enough to where it was standing to plug it in. We had to lift the heater and put it on the table under the TV which seemed a bit odd but the room soon warmed up it was easy to regulate the temperature. 

We would definitely stay at Purdy Lodge again. 

 


An excellent stay at Purdy Lodge

My wife and I stayed here after being let down by another hotel. Great views across the fields to Bamburgh castle and the staff were fantastic. They were attentive and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Thank you.

We stayed for 3 nights lovely clean room beautiful view staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble breakfast was really good especially the porridge and they even accommodated our friend last minute

Excellent stay

Great base for exploring that area, warm welcome when checking in, room warm and clean with a large bathroom. Lovely bar area and seating for restaurant and a 24hr 7 days a week cafe right next door serving a good range of foods and drinks. Breakfast was really good with all the usual that goes with it, the cooked breakfast was fantastic and you could tell it was made fresh with great local produce. Evening meal was of the same quality, staff were very good, friendly and helpful at all times.

Great short stay with delicious food.

Stopped here for food and a hot drink, the fisrt impression of this place was horrible.
Mens loo was rank and was smelly then i walked into what i would say was a mess and a freazing cold cafe the counter was a mess i counted 4 toasties out of date.
There was food and dirty utenciles on the tables. I got the impresionon that they are very short staffed. I got served by a rude and ill mannered young ladies on the till which are not  trained up well I then ordered my food and a latte which was cold and food i waited 25 mins i asked when i was going to arrive and the  the printer broke. I would rather starve or dehydrate then go back in to this messy cafe

One night stay on way to Scotland.  Very easy to find as on the A1.  Rooms all face to the rear, overlooking farmland, so it is very quiet, and you cannot hear the traffic.  Had a ground floor room, so easy access with cases from the parking area.  Family room was basic and quite small for 3 adults, but didn't feel cramped.  One double bed (not a king size) and one single bed.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. 
Had evening meal and breakfast.  Food was excellent; best steak and ale pie!

Stayed here for one night to break up a long journey.
Good location right next to the main road.

The rooms do need a bit of love and attention though 
Carpet was really old and very very thin 

The duvet was a high thread count but they didn't bother putting it in cover properly, and what's the point of the good quality duvet if you're going to have a waterproof undersheet?

Towels were thick and fluffy but one of the hand towels was dirty (had a piece of something on it)

Very nice view from room of a big field (you can even see the sea and bamburgh castle in the distance) and the curtains blocked out all light and closed properly which was great 

Nice soap in bathroom

Creaky floor boards, noisy flushing toilet and can hear neighbors bathroom, however there was no road noise or anything from outside the hotel at all.

Room size and layout very good. Like a slightly smaller Premier Inn. Plenty of shelves and hanging space.
Lighting was good and reasonable amount of sockets.

Check in was very good and friendly with the right amount of information given.

Breakfast was amazing. Very efficient staff. Had the full English and was a crazy portion! 3 bacon, 2 sausages,2 eggs, 2 hash browns and beans! (With self serve toast, cereal, croissants)
Would be good if they did a smaller full English for people that don't want to eat that much (and they'd save money as well as stopping some food waste)

Overall a good night's sleep followed by an amazing breakfast. Even with the tired rooms we'd still stay here again due to the location.
