I stayed here for 2  nights while working at Lindisfarne Festival at the end of August.

This place if well out the way, which I was in favour of! Ethel greeted me and checked me in and was very welcoming. The bed was comfortable, and there was everything I needed in there. The bathroom was shared but this wasn’t a problem for me as there was only one other room which was a single.

Breakfast was lovely, served with a choice of tea or coffee, and everything was fresh!

Would definitely stay here again if needed, my only recommendation would be to sort out the creaky floorboards at the top of the stairs and in the twin room.

HIdden Gem

A bit hard to find (even with GPS) - all the neighbours within 5 square miles knew there was a tourist looking for the B&B.  When I finally found it I was warmly greeted by Ethel, and a small flock of sheep... this is a working farm after all.  A beautiful place, with a lovely breakfast room in an glass-enclosed porch overlooking the fields below, and a large comfortable common room.  Up some narrow stairs to a small, but comfortable bed room, with a nice bathroom shared with just one other room on that floor.  This was a perfect base for my weekend of archaeology on the nearby Holy Island of Lindisfarne.  Ethel's breakfasts were wonderful: amongst the best I had during my two weeks in Scotland and Northumberland.  She makes a great pot of tea!  Close to Berwick-upon-Tweed and Beal, it's not hard to find places to eat (if you're driving). ). Very reasonably priced.  I’d stay there again.

Stunning location

Arrived to a pot of tea and a slice of fresh homemade cake which was lovely. The rooms were basic but clean and functional, the shared bathroom was fine and everything was just as it should be, the views outside were fantastic, as was the breakfast, full English with eggs so fresh they'd probably just been layed. The owner was very friendly and our time there was very nice, it's basic but we only wanted to rest our heads so perfect for us, would definitely stay again and recommend to others

Lovely quaint little B&B

Had a friendly welcome from Mrs Broadbent when we arrived. A cup of tea and slice of cake was very welcome.
We had an en-suite room which was comfortable enough along side a large shared lounge which had TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
It was a beautiful warm afternoon and the views across the Cheviot hills were stunning.Another plus was the peace - so quiet and only a couple of miles from Berwick .
We slept well and had a very hearty breakfast all freshly cooked and served quickly.

Overall not a bad stay, might stay again if we wanted to break our journey North.

Stunning views

I was disappointed with my stay. The whole place was freezing. The room wasn't en-suite as stated but had a shared bathroom. Lucky for me the other room wasn't occupied so I had the bathroom to myself. The bathroom was carpeted ewwww and the shower over the bath with a curtain was mouldy. The room had only a bed and a chest of drawers. There is a skylight in the room what means that you could watch the stars without getting outside but in the summer that must mean being woken up early with the light getting in.There was tea/coffee facilities in the lounge downstairs. The only TV was in the lounge as well. No access to WIFI. The breakfast was lovely but not very big. Only one egg and one bit of bacon with some fried bread and a grilled tomato. This was served in the conservatory with beautiful views but again it was freezing in there. I noticed loads of slug tracks on the carpet in the conservatory....

cold and dated

This B and B is in a lovely location. Views of the cheviot hills in the distance. We got a warm welcome from Mrs Broadbent when we arrived and the offer of a cup of tea. Our room was fine and we had use of a sitting room with coal fire,tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits.
Our full English vegetarian breakfast was great too. 
If you like to sleep in a dark room I recommend taking an eye mask. I woke early because of the ceiling light having no blind.
