Out with friends and wanted somewhere cosy to sit for a few drinks. Hadn’t been to the kings arms in a while and wanted to give it a try. Greeted by the lovely bar man Josh who was entertaining, attentive and gave us a laugh. Drinks were reasonable although you needed to have some Baileys in (after all is it Christmas 😉). I’d come back again definitely!! 

Warm, cosy and entertaining 

We stayed at the The Kings Arm hotel for one night to celebrate a family members birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted by the receptionist at the bar who was kind and informative. The main bed was very comfortable and clean. However, the spare bed was a little uncomfortable as there wasn’t much of a mattress. I must say our room was huge - there was a lot of space and plenty of storage. At breakfast there was an amazing selection of foods as part of their continental breakfast and it all tasted amazing! The waitress was very polite and kind! The hotel is very close to Bicester Village. I’d highly recommend staying at The Kings Arms hotel.

Lovely Stay!

The rooms are just as you’d expect for the low cost, they could do with a little refurb but extremely clean. The beds were also very comfortable. Now onto the breakfast!! Fantastic choice! Even freshly baked pastries with all local creams, butters, fruits etc.

Continental breakfast!!!

I stayed here recently and it sadly did not meet expectation's; having stayed here last prior to lockdown. Stair carpet looking very tired and worn. 
Room was spacious and clean, but bathroom not the best. No door to shower, so you could not enjoy a shower without worrying about flooding the bathroom and potentially the floor below. Toilet also not the best, limescale and over a few hours backflow of brown water.
The shower was slow to drain and when looked at closely it was clogged with hair and other unpleasant elements. 
Continental breakfast had a good selection but could do with more than just marmalade as a choice, a few jams or honey etc would be nice too.
Staff are great, nice bar and restaurant area. Great location.

In need of updating

I stayed at this hotel a few years back and loved it so much so we decided to go again and it has since changed management and I have to say the place has gone downhill, not only has it lost its charm and character, it needs alot of work doing to bring it up to a standard that people will love, Rooms are dirty, cobwebs everywhere so the cleaner isn't doing her job right, things are broken, the tiles on the bathroom were missing pieces and some broken, to the point it was dangerous, something was leaking from the ceiling into the bath so it looked like someone had passed urine in the bath,  the Internet is poor, they have smart tvs in rooms but you can't access the Internet to even watch anything, there was only light bites to eat when we stayed which was poor as the items we wanted wasn't available.. I'd be embarrassed if I was the manager running this place, no care and attention and the prices don't reflect the low quality your getting so I'd recommend people staying in the bicester area to look elsewhere.. Clearly just a money grab now

Not the same as it once was, poor

We have stayed at this hotel 12 months ago & had a full English breakfast, however 12 months later this has been replaced with a continental breakfast (which was perfectly adequate) but the room was horrific, the staircase carpet to our room was filthy - can’t have been hoovered in six months, behind the bed was thick with dust as it stood proud from the wall! The receptionist didn’t have a clue & when we got back about 10.30pm the place was in darkness! This place needs a serious makeover!

Tired

Booked one night as we were at a wedding nearby. Parking is easy. The room wasn’t great, very small, carpet about 2 inches off the gripper so had to watch bare feet walking into the bathroom. One of the cups was stuck to the saucer it was so dirty. Bed was comfortable though and sheets were clean. Breakfast was quite poor, they no longer offer a full English. Cold soft boiled eggs were awful but made do with toast and jam. Hubby was offered a bacon butty though which was okay. Was okay overall if you’re looking for a bed to sleep in and nothing more.

Not the best

I was very disappointed with our stay at the Kings Arms and annoyed with myself for not checking  reviews properly and allowing myself to be taken in by its excellent trip advisor rating and the great pictures of the deluxe room I had selected on the website. When we arrived and checked into room one we though it looked spacious and well furnished though the the carpet was a bit shabby but on going’s into the bathroom we found the toilet bowl full of brown stained limescale and the shower door completely missing meaning there was nothing to prevent the shower spray from flooding the bathroom. I complained about this by phone to the manager as I wanted  a room with a decent shower but was told all the other rooms were taken and I should either have a bath or put towels on the floor around the shower to collect the spray. I persevered and we were given room fifteen which had a reasonable shower but wasn’t a deluxe room like we had paid for and was reached by a tight winding staircase covered by dirty worn carpet. Breakfast in the bar which we shared with one other guest was very basic and barely adequate. I love quaint pubs but there’s quaint and there’s tired and scruffy and this pub has seen better days and needs sorting out. I definitely would not recommend it.

Desperately needs a makeover

Lovely building, great parking, and outside seating areas.  Room was also a great size.  That's where the 'good' ends.
The room was filthy - sheets were clean, but cobwebs and thick dust everywhere.  Small fridge in the room which was also manky.  Even the tea cups and milk portions were dirty.
Broken bath panel which has been duck taped many times.

Breakfast was continental as kitchen is beimg refurbished.  This would be fine, but it was absolute rubbish.  Cheap white bread, sugar laden cereal bars and stale, pre packed croissants.  How hard would it be to have fresh produce?  There's a bakery literally across the road!
Even without a kitchen, you can provide fresh continental breakfast - fruit, yoghurt, fresh bread.

We left without making toast as the toaster was filthy - hair and grease stuck to it.

Just no care taken over anything.

Shame as the building itself is great.  It was just run by people with no attention to detail, or even basic cleanliness :(

Such potential, but sadly dirty

We stayed in this hotel 3 years ago which is why we went back but oh my, what a drastic change! It’s become very shabby. They don’t serve breakfast anymore. There are no reception phones in the rooms as, to be honest, there is no one on reception after 5. The restaurant closes as well as the bar. What’s that all about? The room was clean but stains on the carpet, walls grubby. The only toiletries was an all in one bottle of shampoo/conditioner/body wash. No face cloths. Had a strange man climb up onto the roof and attempt to get into my room. (Not the hotels fault but none the less it was scary)  I find it hard to say anything nice really, it was like you are in the hotel and they just shut up shop and leave you all night until morning. It was all very bizarre. Carpets throughout were worn and dated. Faulty towers comes to mind. So no, I would definitely steer clear of this Hotel. Consequently I will not go back there.
