Booked a table for three and had a lovely meal with really friendly service and helpful staff. The portion sizes were good and the meals were all very well made and very tasty. Two of us had pudding which was very good but we thought the churros should of come with a dipping sauce but thats not a slight on the pub its just our preference. Would definitely return for another meal

Lovely litte pub

Most excellent Country pub serving meals. I booked a table for my friend and I on-line, not knowing what to expect. There was one real ale available, it was simply superb. My friend had the Venison and Pheasant Pie ( with a proper shortcrust lid on it ) and I had their Fish Platter, both were excellent. The Gents toilets are outside, buy we didn't see this as an issue. The ambience was quaint but very good, we declined the piped music and the star of the whole show was Hannah the barmaid, waitress and general factotum.
A most agreeable experience. 

Excellent Place for Lunch

Very friendly staff. Comfy bedroom if a little small. Dinner good. Excellent atmosphere. Pretty village. We stayed here after visiting Waddesdon Manor and were en route to Cheshire. We enjoyed a stroll round the pretty village the next day before moving on.

Good little inn for a stopover.

I really like it here and I had a third visit already. I loved the Sunday roast, I’ve had a fishfinger sandwich which is worth travelling for!

The two gentlemen who have taken over the running of the place are doing a remarkable job . And it’s a proper country pub with a nice vibe and genuine sincere service.

A lovely country pub with a very personal service

Stayed for one night. Lovely bar & garden. Quaint village - peaceful and so picturesque. Food is superb - both evening meal and breakfast, and great chatting with the owners over a few drinks in the evening. Really enjoyed our stay. Will be back in the future.

Absolutely lovely place to stay

We visitedThe Fox Souldern for a birthday meal today. We received a very warm welcome. W enjoyed the wine from the new wine list. The food was superb and the service was suitable attentive A great experience. Would definitely recommend. 

Great food and wine.

I had to be at Bicester Heritage early in the morning (a 10-minute drive), so I stayed here the night before. It's under new management, although the excellent chef has been incumbent for a few years. The car park is small, but I arranged a space in advance. It's not secure parking because the car park is open, but Sourden is such a quiet village, I wasn't concerned. The room was very comfortable and well-equipped. I picked up that updates are planned, e.g. new beds, but mine was perfectly comfortable. The food is outstanding. I had the homemade steak and ale pie with seasonal vegetables and a lovely full English breakfast the next day. The management is very conscious about waste (food and bedroom consumables), which is refreshing.

Ideal place to stay when visiting Bicester Heritage

We received the warmest welcome upon visiting this pub today. The staff were so accommodating and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. Nothing was too much trouble.  If we lived closer it would definitely be a regular favourite. A  hidden gem that’s definitely worth a visit. Recommended on every level. Thank you John and team.

A real hidden gem

Had a second great meal at this pub in the space of two months. It’s equidistant between London and Herefordshire and a great place to meet up with family. Staff are so attentive and helpful and the food is excellent. We will be back. Thank you.

Post Christmas family lunch

Cheerful welcome, well kept real ale and very reasonably priced lunch.  My fish finger sandwich was on fresh bread and had a choice of soup or chips to complement.   I chose 'home-made' soup and and it fabulous.
