I've just spent three nights at Torridge House B&B and very much enjoyed my stay. It's centrally located in Appledore - just one minute's walk to the front - in a wonderful Georgian House. Everything worked well with good communication with the owner, Penny. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was excellent quality with a good range on offer and served in the conservatory. Lovely, large informal garden at the back of the house. Penny was friendly, helpful and good advice about the local area. A great place to stay.

A delightful B&B in Appledore

Just returned from two nights in this gorgeous b&b. Great location, 3 minute stroll to a very nice sea front pub. The room had everything we wanted, world of interior magazines for me and small music centre for him! 
The bed was very comfortable and good quality cotton bedding. 

The house is tastefully decorated with beautiful & interesting pieces from around the world and a warm log burner greeted us on arrival which added to the homely and relaxed feel of the house. 

Penny was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed.

Morning breakfast was taken in the Georgian conservatory which had beautiful potted lemon trees.  The food was all high quality produce and the homemade bread was a nice touch. 

As always I would book directly with the owner, you won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful B&B

We had a fantastic time. Penny was very welcoming and the breakfasts were to die for. All home cooked with lovely fresh ingredients. Nothing was skimped and nothing too much trouble.

The room was very comfortable itself.

Great little B and B in Appledore only a short walk from the sea front.

Would recommend booking meals out. Try the Flame Factory. Best pizza ever!

Perfect B and B

We stayed 2 nights and could easily have stayed much longer. Penny made us very welcome from the moment we arrived until the time we left. 

The bed was one of the best, most comfortable beds I have slept on, when away from home (and I have slept in many !) The room decor was lovely.

Breakfast was superb in quality and quantity.

Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Penny for being such a great host and giving us the much needed break in peace and quiet and comfort.

Gorgeous house with a lovely calm atmosphere and fabulous garden. Host is a friendly and welcoming lady. Breakfast is brilliant. Rooms are comfortable and well presented. Lovely cosy guest sitting room. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely B & B

We were absolutely delighted with our stay with Penny at Torridge House. Everything, from beautiful bed sheets, excellent comfy beds, good quality toiletries, to super breakfast delighted us. If you do visit, pop and see Penny's wonderful garden. Can't recommend a stay here highly enough.

Brilliant place to stay!!!

Torridge House offers truly excellent B&B. Beds are very comfortable beds and dressed with superb linens. Rooms are immaculately clean. Breakfast is superb - great variety, good ingredients, all cooked-to-order with care and style. Add on a welcome that is both personal and professional, and advice on where best to eat & visit from a hostess who knows what she's talking about. What more can anyone need?  Bob (stayed 9 nights). 

Excellent

We spent a week walking part of the South West Coast Path and this was the best accommodation we stayed in. After an arduous 18+ mile walk, we were greeted by Penny with a mini cream tea in the sitting room.
The accommodation is adorned with interesting artwork (you have to see the inane fish on the mantelpiece). There's a general relaxed atmosphere and Penny didn't impose herself on us but was happy to chat and interact with us - perfect.
Our room was superb, filled with great art, CDs (Dylan!), books and good-quality provisions too. Bathroom was nice with better-than-average toiletries.
Breakfast was fabulous with proper bread and a fine selection of cereals, fruits, pastries and cooked options. Top bacon sandwich :)
Given that there is a limited choice of accommodation in Appledore, you'd be mad to go anywhere else!

Top b&b

We have just returned from a three day stay in Appledore, we stayed at the Torridge House B&B and I have to write about it.  It's an impressive house full with character and creative furniture, its actually beautiful but incredibly homely and cosy.
Penny is a true star, she was very helpful, cooks a brilliant breakfast and has a fantastic garden. She was the perfect host and we had an amazing time.


Marvellous Memories

I was working in Appledore and arrived on a cold March  evening and was greeted with a homemade scone , excellent coffee and the woodburner in the guest lounge . Supremely comfortable bed with high end top quality egyptian cotton linen .   A well put  together shower room  cleverly squeezed into a small space.  Breakfast in the bright glass topped extension  was wonderful celebrating local or locally sourced produce - I had eggs Florentine . I can thoroughly recommend this place . if you haven"t been to Appledore for a while you will also find a wider choice of eateries  including the refurbished  Royal George with its amazing views  , although Sylvester's fish abd chips remains a firm favourite . A great host too
