The location is very convenient. But the street noise made sleeping or relaxing impossible. My room number was 111, and from approximately 6am the buses were constant. The shouting/yelling/fighting from people on the street below was also disturbing and actually distressing. 
I made the booking for my friend and I to stay in two separate rooms but didn't expect to be put on different floors. When checking in, I had to ask if our rooms could be changed to be on the same floor, which was sorted straight away. 
When we went to our floor, the smell of weed was very unpleasant and even more so once my friend entered his allocated room. Causing us to return to reception to request my friend could be moved to a different room. Again, this was sorted straight away. 

We left the hotel around 7pm and got back there around 2am to find my bathroom floor was flooded. We went to reception and informed them, the member of staff came straight to the room and said it was because someone had showered. I told them I had not been there all night and had showered about 8 hours earlier but they kept replying that it had happened because someone had showered.

There was also a bad odor, possibly from the drains in the bathroom from the moment I first entered the room.
Cleanliness and wear and tear is to be expected in a budget hotel.

Stay may have been better if room was on a higher floor rather than as close to the bus stops below as possible.

Ask for a high floor to avoid street noise

Hotel is in a decent level of repair generally and rooms are in the new style for Travelodge, it's a perfect location for New Street and Moor Street stations too - the staff were friendly and welcoming.

However there are better Travelodge hotels in the city centre - the noise from the street (drunks and loud people at the bus stop till the early hours, supermarket deliveries in the morning) disturbed my sleep, the local area was a little sinister after dark and my bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke. The door handle to the bathroom kept jamming and making me think I was going to get stuck in the bathroom.

I'd recommend staying at the branch in Jewellery Quarter instead, unless you desperately need to be as close as possible to the stations.

Not the best Travelodge in Birmingham

Stayed here last week for 6 nights whilst our child was in Birmingham Childrens hospital for surgery. We chose this hotel based on the many outstanding reviews of the ever so helpful staff and wonderful location.  Unfortunately to our dismay this was not at all the case that we had been led to believe, the hotel is definately central to all going on in birmingham, including the drug misuse directly opposite the hotel in full view of our window, to the forever shouting screaming delightful locals at all hours of the day and night, to the vocal beggers camped outside the entrance .  The hotel has a damp dog aroma throughout, the reception staff for the whole 6 nights were non existant, which made us question our security, the rooms are small and you can hear other guests through the door to the corridor like they are in the room with you, especially at night it can get quite frightening, I would not in all honesty recommend this hotel, I can now see that you get what you pay for, I just wish others would leave as honest reviews..

Awful Sinister Location,No Security, Smelly Aroma !

Very quiet room in corner of building. Bino was very friendly when checking in at reception. He helped us with our luggage earlier. The bed is very cozy and pillows are fluffy. Decent amount of sunlight through windows.
Bathroom is also clean and tidy. Few condiments and kettle in the room.
Very friendly welcome in this Travelodge. Thanks!

Great stag.

Had a really awesome night,  Katie on reception was awesome,  she had  a great smile and really helpful  pubs are really close and so is the shops.

Great location in the middle of the city centre (busy city centre across from a bus stop but windows very soundproof) clean hotel, staff helpful and friendly.

Excellent location

I had a very pleasant stay at Travelodge.  All receptionists were friendly and professional.  Room staff were accommodating and made the stay pleasant.  Location next to the exhaustive Birmingham shopping centre and close proximity to Moor Street and New Street stations made the location ideal.
