Arrived 11am from early flight from 10 hour early flight from Mexico . Taxi was pre booked and paid for along with Hotel . Taxi arrived to take us to Cresta. On arrival driver wanted £5 for to pay for his parking at airport . My husband informed him that our taxi was paid but he still insisted . Husband went into hotel reception to inquire and a very nice young man at reception was very helpful  spoke to  driver and resolved it . 
He told us room was not quite ready but would take about 30 minutes which was no problem.. He also asked us if we would like something to drink and brought us a much needed pot of tea...
True to his word our room was ready very quickly..
We had stayed in the hotel on 29th November before we left for holiday and like previous visit room was clean comfortable and cosy .
There were a few Xmas parties going on in hotel but we heard very little noise.
I asked room service for an iron and it took less than 10 minutes for it to be  sent to room .
All staff day and night were great very friendly and kind .
Will definitely be staying again if leaving for holiday fro Manchester and will recommend this hotel to friends .

Overnight stay 15 December 2017

Charged extra for car when arrived   but when I booked  it said 9 free parking spaces outside rooms very small only basic breakfast  it said it had games but didn't it said it had liceince  bar but didn't  good location

John the host tries his best but lacks the skills to run the bed and breakfast he would not turn on the heating insisting it stayed on the timer schedule even though guests were complaining of being cold it seemed to be on only for an hour at 9pm on arrival he charged an extra £10 per night for parking and despite the signs outside the hotel advertising a full English breakfast and licensed premisses these services were not on offer. The bar had no alcohol and was never opened and he served only a continental breakfast of toast, crumpets both of which you cooked yourself queuing for the one toaster. Cereal was served in what looked like tin dog bowls and orange juice served in what looked like old tea light glasses. He also offered prepacked danish pastries. It was almost impossible to dodge this fiasco of a breakfast as John was waiting at the foot of the stairs to usher you in to your designated table.(he didn't like it if you tried to pick your own seat )the coffee was the cheapest available and had a metalic aftertaste. The room was the typical small Blackpool B n B room with thin walls and tiny toilet but was a little better than I had expected from reading previous guests reviews however on talking to other guests at breakfast we seemed to have been lucky with the room we got. The room was very cold and I am glad I had spare blankets in the car. John also asked guests on arrival to cancel their bookings with booking.com he said to avoid the guest being charged I suspect it was for him to dodge the booking fees for using that site. Everyone checked out and left as fast as they could. We would not recommend this place at all.

Was not brilliant or Evan average but the host makes it by just been him self the rooms are dingy and can hear everything from the rooms next door the breakfast was a joke toast or crumpets but you get what you pay for I went sat 28th payed 50  pound for a night most hotels was double that we was only in the room from  2 am till  8  am so can't really complain. The shower kept going cold then went off had to wait 20  minutes for him to check the fuse box but other than that it was OK just

Not as bad as they say 

A group of friends decided to visit Blackpool overnight. We found south crest on booking.com with excellent reviews. Friend booked & paid for hotel online. She was under impression  it was full English breakfast which suited us .
But once we read trip advisor reviews we began to panic. Reviews on both sites were at opposite ends of the scale. 
We were kindly driven to Blackpool by a friend. We asked the owner of hotel if our friend can come in for 5 minutes while we put our luggage in rooms as it was blowing a gale outside. The answer was no visitors allowed!!
We were then asked for £10 deposit for each key which was refundable. 
We were shocked at the story John, the owner,  gave us. He went into great detail about losing keys. He even had tv remotes with him.
Then he began a long tale about why it's no smoking & we can't use a hairdryer in the room. Apparently someone in another hotel years ago was sadly burnt to a crisp.
As much as this is a sad story..did we need to know this?? And did we also need to know how much it cost him to put a fire alarm in?? Maybe that's why the hotel was dated...he had no capital to revamp hotel.

The room was smaller than a box room. Despite asking for twin beds we got a double bed which the headboard was under the window where storm Brian blew in.  No room for bedside table. 
Kettle didn't work & we had 1 teabag I coffee sachet sugar & whiter in a small plastic bag.
The bathroom had no room at all. 2 tiles between the sliding door & sink. Unfortunately I am overweight so I had trouble getting around the sink to the loo. 
As we stayed out all Saturday afternoon in storm Brian, accepted being totally drenched & freezing, we honestly thought the hotel heating would be on...err...no!!!
Room was so icy I was scared I would get pneumonia. 
Bed was uncomfortable & 1970s style.
Oh.. .continental breakfast instead of full English.
Found out at checkout some drunk had banged on everyone's door at 1am & tampered with heating hence why there wasnt any on. But we never heard the commotion & frankly no heating at 11pm when we came into hotel. 
I didn't feel it was necessary for John to criticise his paying guests .
Sadly I have not got anything good to say about the hotel.
He was friendly  enough but I felt he had no idea how to run a hotel despite taking over the family business.
There is a diner a few doors down which do breakfasts and yates's.
It is close to all attractions but I strongly suggest you look elsewhere for accommodation.
I really hope John will read these comments and learn by his mistakes. 
I do wonder what happens when a hotel gets so many bad reviews.
It's a waste of money and enjoyment. 
Going away should be a pleasant experience and a safe haven from the storms outside .
The parking cost £10 but as we had a lift that didn't apply to us.  Carpark very small & 1 car took up  a few spaces .
