We booked over the telephone to stay at the casa sea shell hotel which doesn't exist we got a confirmation message the day before our stay to inform us we had to check in at maryport marras hotel as they had several hotels on the street we got there paid for our room and the hotel owner took us to our hotel which was the hangover/silverdene hotel as we got to the street there's a mattress on the street with children bouncing on it which was in fact cleaner than the mattress in our room the carpets were filthy holes everywhere looked like they has never been hoovered as we got to our room we didn't need the key to get in as we could just push the door and we was in the carpets were the exact same as the hallways the doors in the bedroom didn't fit in the door frame the bed sheets were stained the mattress had blood marks most probably from bed bugs we had nothing but a bed a sink which didn't have any hot water a TV bracket with no TV and bedsheets as curtains which hung on the windows in fact the windows were plastic the door handle you could spin around we had one toilet and a shower to share with rest of the hotel guests which were absolutely filthy as soon as I walked into the hotel I itched I was terrified to sleep in the place I didn't know what diseases I would be taking back home with me not to forget the main door didn't shut never mind lock the back street and front Street of the hotel were shocking as you can see in the pictures I didn't have enough time to take pictures as I wanted to get out before I did end up catching something we did then find another hotel which we felt like royalty in as it was spotless everything a hotel should have! We returned the keys and asked for a refund and told the owners we didn't feel safe and it was very unhygienic the owners were very rude and said they would be losing out if they gave us a refund which we lost our money plus had to pay for alternative accommodation I would advise for you to keep well away from any of these hotels!!

Devastating!!!

A group of 4 of us arrived to check in on NYE, upon check in we were walked round the corner about 500 yards, to our "hotel", first thing... The main front door was pretty much hanging off. After being shown to our room, the first thing to be noticed was the stench of dirt mixed bleach, yet the carpets we still dirty, window frames rotting and an astonishing amount of dust on the radiator. We are no snobs and didn't expect a lot for £25 per man but we did expect a bit of cleanliness, but how anybody could stay in here willingly is beyond us. We went to the car to get our bags and thought we would check to see how the door locks, and you guessed it, it didn't, so at that point we decided to find alternative accommodation, luckily there was a cancellation at the Merginn Hotel which was a significant improvement and was only £30 per man. How the two can differ so much is mind boggling. Rooms 9 & 10, don't bother sending the "cleaners" in, the room was unused. 

HORRENDOUS! HAVE ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH GONE MISSIG IN BLACKPOOL!? 

My friend and I spent a few days here it is in ideal situation near tower central pier beach shops ect it was once a thriving area but sadly now run Down!the owners have taken on a few hotels in the area and doing them up  our room was clean and it was quiet!  It is like hotels were in the sixtys  dont be snobbish and give it a go if you want a cheap place to get your head down

STAYED IN AUGUST 2015, AT SILVERDENE 
(we were booked into Casa Seashell hotel which doesn’t exist, we got put into Silverdene when we arrived, we were not pre-warned or given a choice. Beware if you are trying to book Casa Seashell hotel, it does not exist. Same goes for ‘York Street Hotel’ which it was called before that.)

Tanya R’s review is accurate, not an exaggeration, it is also what we experienced. Simply put, hell on earth, or worse. DO NOT THINK IT WILL BE OK. It isn’t.

We stayed for Rebellion Festival and would not have booked something we suspected may be bad unless we were desperate, but other accommodation plans fell through with only a week to spare. All hotels, apartments, hostels and b&bs get fully booked for this week in August due to Rebellion and the Air Show. We tried to avoid a £15 a night accommodation. I am extremely surprised that the owners open this accommodation at any other time of year apart from the festival when everything else is booked but it seems like it is, so please take heed.

Even for £15 a night, you are being completely ripped off – the hotel is shockingly revolting, but above all else, extremely dangerous and unsafe. Don’t risk it. You will be charged £10 for a key deposit upon arrival – this is not stated in the booking info – be prepared to pay the extra.

Upon arrival we were expected to pay the whole amount for a long stay, before we were told the place we were staying had been switched. We were not shown the place, we had to pay first, including the extra for keys. £10 per guest by the way, not £10 for the whole group.

Paying a deposit for a key is a bit of a joke considering the front door and the bedroom door locks don’t work. For most of the time the front door of the place remained wide open – obviously this is very unsafe. One night when we returned to find it locked, we could not access the hotel. ‘Joe’ had to be called, and he arrived with 2 crowbars and broke into the front door. This is not an exaggeration.

Tanya R describes the place as something from a horror film and she’s not wrong. There were creepy, unsettling goings on the whole way through our stay.

Luckily, we had taken the precaution of packing sleeping bags, blankets, and our own pillows and towels. If we did not have these things I would have returned home as you would not want to touch the bedding. It’s that bad.

Nothing in the room apart from a bed, a window which you could not shut, a tv (didn’t try it out) and a sink. There was the welcome addition of bin bags in each room, which were good for lining the floor so you didn’t have to step on the carpet.

Rooms were horrific – deadly electronics with multiple plugs being run from other plugs. The mains sockets were at the top of the wall near the ceiling – so basically impossible to plug your electronic devices in anyway if you wanted to be able to reach them. We also had holes in our walls. 

Beds were revolting – sheets had giant worn patches and disgusting stains and marks, thick with grey bobbles from probably being used for over 20 years. Pretty shocking when you can get a sheet for a couple of quid these days. Someone had a peek under the mattress and it was COVERED in old cigarette butts. In the bed. Big flies were living in the rooms, circling constantly above the bed. The would land on the bed and leave their mess ready for you to sleep in.

When we arrived the sink in one room was being fixed from the last guests. We saw it, it stunk to high heaven and it was full of HUMAN WASTE. In the sink. 

Carpets were THICK with matted hair. Not sure how this would be that bad unless it was YEARS worth of build up. (see photo)

Windows were constantly open, you couldn't lock them or close them in some cases. Towels could be provided for extra charge (not sure why anyone in their right mind would) and there was no hot drink making facilities.

Toilets were shared with other guests. The toilets of course did not flush and were blocked the whole time. The flush handle just span round and round. We were confused at first to where the shower was until we realized one toilet had a shower inside the toilet cubicle. Using this was near impossible. We touched the shower set up and it all fell apart in our hands!

The lounge room was locked with no access. It may not have been a lounge, maybe there was someone there, no idea. You couldn’t see through the glass – pretty worrying.

Each morning we were awoken by a strong STENCH of cigarette smoke. Considering our friends were in the room below and didn’t smoke, we were concerned as to where this smell was creeping in from. The fire alarms were clearly there for show, they didn’t work. We saw someone smoking in the corridor on day, proving this point.

Tanya says the place is completely falling to pieces – this is literally true. Throughout the night / morning we kept waking to the sound of hammering, construction work, etc. We were surprised one morning to open the bedroom door to be greeted with a corridor full of rubble, dust and plaster. Not sure what was going on, we were too scared to investigate.

I did see a cleaner one day. Again, only conclusion is that she must have been placed there for show.

It is really sad to think that anyone puts their name to this hotel and a) lets people stay there and b) is not mortally embarrassed about the state of the place.

HORRIFIC, DON'T RISK IT

So me and 5 friends went for a weekend at the end of July 2015. 
We went for a booze get away weekend. 
We got 3 double rooms and paid £30 each for 2 nights adding up to £180.

We collected the keys from another hotel from a guy who looked homeless. He then took us to the worst looking hotel on the street. When we walked in I instantly felt like I needed a shower and when I looked at my friends faces we all just looked shocked! 
The lounge room didn't exist. It was locked and no one ever saw inside. 
The rooms where pretty bad, unsafe  electrics and in my room I didn't even have a cold tap. (Wasn't even plumbed in) so in room 6 you brush your teeth with HOT water...
Also my window was constantly open, you couldn't lock it or even hold it open... It just dangled.
The other 2 rooms we got also had its problems. Although they had a TV from from the 80's there sinks where blocked and beds looking pretty unclean. The carpets in all the rooms and hallways where horrific, looked like they're been there for about 50 years. That's not even over exaggerating! 

I'm not one to moan, at the end of the day it was a bed to stay in, but I can't even say it was worth the £15 a night we all paid. Towels where an extra charge and there was no hot drink making facilities. The main front door is constantly open, so anyone can walk in at any time, so make sure your room is always locked! 
The place is completely falling to pieces! If I didn't laugh about it, I would of cried...
If you're a family going to Blackpool then I suggest you DONT stay there, even if your life depended on it. If you're a hen or stag doo that doesn't mind staying in something off a horror film, then this is the place for you!
