Why would I look any where else!!! When the Shanklin fills all my needs, welcoming, clean, quiet along with an awesome location, just a short walk from where Nation Express drops off so no need to take the car (If you do want to take you car well there is ample parking in a paid carpark at the end of the road).

This time we stayed in room 007 which was full of James Bond memorabilia which for sure this is far better than those boring hotel locations.

The room is ensuite, which is always good.  

Wow did I sleep good, was it the sea air!!! no it was the comfy bed oh my what a peacefull nights sleep I got, and that was with the window open.

The Shanklin Hotel has amazing hosts who will give you a warm welcome when you arrive, as always I will let them know when I will be arriving, if the time changes, well they will be the first to know, just remember these guys live in the same hotel and probs organise there life around the hotel, I know I would hate to have my dinner disturbed by a guest who turns up 2 hrs later than the time they stated they would be checking in.

Yes as everyone says It is in an awesome location with a short flat walk to Coral Island, bars and food outlets.

Would I stay here again Yes YES  Y E S and I have many times.

Up There With The Best, top marks all the way

Very close to coral island so was a perfect location in the extremely hot weather. We was able to nip back to the room and shower and change throughout the day whilst watching the air show. We had a Harry Potter themed room on the very top floor so obviously with it being 32 degrees there was just no air in the room at all. The owner did put a little fan in the room for us but it didn’t really help but the weather cannot be blamed on anyone. Room was clean and comfortable. Owner is very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again.

Perfect location

Really enjoyed our stay here Fri-Sun. Welcomed by the owner on arrival who was very friendly and helpful, he could not do enough to ensure you were happy! The beds were so comfortable and the room was very clean and tidy and smelt so fresh. The hotel was very nice and quiet and perfect for us with 2 children. We had a lovely surprise when we opened the curtains in our room and saw the Blackpool tower lit up looking beautiful. The location is absolutely brilliant and just a quick short walk to coral island, Blackpool tower and the pier etc. There are also shops nearby and a chippy about 1 minute walk away. We will definitely be returning and hope to try out another themed room. This time we tried the Game of Thrones room and loved it!

Stayed here with my son while we were in Blackpool for his birthday, on arrival the owner was extremely polite and knowledgeable. The room was basic but comfy and had all we needed. Would recommend this hotel for a break in Blackpool as it was quiet and clean

Great little gem

Hotel is in a convenient location and staff were friendly, however they’re the only positive points that I can make.
The room itself was very cold, the central heating wasn’t working and it was very draughty. It had an oil radiator but this was so small it was ineffective compared to the draught in the room.
The shower didn’t work properly and the adjustable handle was broken. If you were lucky to get any hot water from it then it wouldn’t be for long as it soon turned cold.

Location great. Room poor

On entering the property there was a distinct smell of damp... not a good start.  

We were situated in room 007 (yes, really, a themed room...) which was not remotely as dynamic and slick as the character himself.  

So....a toilet in a tiny cupboard two steps away from the bed,  a small shower which did not provide hot water unless you requested cold (?!?!), the sink in the bedroom which had back to front taps, by this I mean you had to turn them the wrong way to get water out of them... the window wouldn't shut as the handle was broken - good job it was on the second floor so no one could get in - not great for a freezing blasts of air at 3am though.  

At least our door shut properly though, other rooms on the same floor looked like the doors were falling of their hinges.  

Overall, dreadful - I would not stay here again.  

Needless to say, the pictures on booking.com are not representative of what you actually get!

Dismal.....

The room was Harry Potter themed which was very strange for a couple pushing 40 and we had no idea about this until we got there. The bed was lumpy and  very uncomfortable and was next to a wall with a radiator down the side. The lighting was awful meaning that its impossible to do make up etc. The tea/coffee had also been there a long time as the UHT milk sticks were as lumpy as the bed!. Absolutely dreadful hotel, would not recommend as you will not be able to sleep unless you are incredibly drunk.

The worst hotel ive ever slept in

Truly awful. We paid £140 for one night on an extremely old, lumpy mattress on a knackered old divan with a metal headboard leaning against the wall behind it, in a bizarrely Harry Potter themed room. Everything was powered by extension leads plugged into extension leads that hung over doors and behind radiators. The UHT milk was even lumpy - not sure how that was even possible. It was so bad I managed to sleep from 1am to 3am, then waited until the first train out of Blackpool to go home to actually get some sleep. Inexplicable.

Nothing like the pictures or reviews!

Paul is one of the friendliest kindist people iv met, after travelling due to a family loss we checked in early and ended up staying a week after booking for 2 nights. You definitely get what you pay for and more. Thank you for everything Paul

Lovely hotel and amazing owner

Stayed here whilst attending the magic convention for the first time. 
Found it an ideal location for the winter Gardens where the convention was held. 
Weather was not good as storm Dennis hit but my room was warm clean and comfortable and a great price

All round I was very happy and will certainly want to stay again next year when I will most likely be back in Blackpool.
