Booked via Hotels.com for a birthday trip with my fiancé and brother as part of a trip to the Pleasure Beach. Paid £47 for the night - not expecting any frills - but, on trying to check in,  the owners had already given away our room. Long, rambling chat from the owner - not a single apology! - apparently blaming Expedia for double booking our room and apparently him not wanting to take single night bookings...I’ve booked 20+ nights with hotels.com around Europe and this is the first time there has been an issue. 

In the end, despite paying for a room which had gone to someone else, the owner expected us to pay for it again. Got a refund via hotels.com. 

Despite not staying the night (very thankful of this - place stank of mildew), my overall impression is that of incompetence. Surely, if you have your own business, then you can: 1) Manage your reservations; 2) Treat members of the public like actual humans. 

We stayed at another guest house called The Water’s Edge ( much better and the manager, Paul, was fair). 

DO NOT STAY AT THE KENBRY.

Incompetent

First and last impression was the owner who demanded we had to pay despite our email booking stating otherwise. After 10 minutes of disputing this we finally got him to realise he was talking about ANOTHER booking and he then denied all knowledge of ours. This was after we fruitlessly tried to explain that it was NOT booked under the name he kept using. He then stated he had no room for us anyway. Spoke to us as if WE were the incompetent ones and stating this was all Experias fault when we’d already explained multiple times we’d used hotels.com. This was on top of the pungent smell of urine that hits you as soon as you entered. AVOID.

Horrible.

Very good location near the pleasure Beach and yet far enough from any noise in the night. The owners are great hosts and we got amazing service. Good breakfast and they cater well for vegetarians as well. We would stay again for sure.

Good base for blackpool very friendly and helpful owners Nothing was too much trouble not a pricey place so its not the ritz Asked for a few things and they were done without any probs go there and enjoy blackpool

Wayne and dawn are very accommodating nothing was too much trouble , we arrived early and managed to check in which was a bonus ,quiet hotel and cooked breakfast in mornings . Very Close to water park and pleasure beach .
