Broken.
Carpets not fitted upto wall in room so lots of dust, hair and fluff.
Wood above bed splintering.
Smell of used dirty cooking oil as you decend the stairs.
Salt and pepper on table in dirty pots.
Obviously not impressed and they wanted £50 a night.
Overall disgusting.

Shocking

I booked a standard single and got a double bed, which was nice. However the room was so small that the bed took up the majority of the room. There was also a rickety set of draws that felt like they were going to fall apart when I opened a drawer. You have to share a bathroom, but luckily there were very few people staying when I was there. Also it would have been nice to know before I booked that they allow smoking in the bedrooms as I am an asthmatic and cigerette smoke is one of my major triggers. If I had known, I wouldn't have booked. My room didn't smell too bad but my symptoms did play up whilst staying there. The host is really nice, although he is apparently moving to another place closer to town in a few weeks. Overall, it was alright and manageable, I didn't feel the need to leave early but I probably wouldn't recommend it either

You get what you pay for

the photos are not what they seem , the room was small dingy with barley any room to unpack a suitcase . shared bathroom was awful with dirty marks all over the toilet and we were in the room right next to the toilet so we heard everyone doing there business and drunk parties coming in at early hours of the morning making lound noises ,you could smoke in the rooms as a smoker myself i did not want to do this as i thought it wasnt very nice for non smoker guests the smell of stale smoke hits you as you walk through the door , the location is also very poor in the middle of a rough housing estate with dogs barking all through the night and people shouting, overall i would stay well clear from this b+b !!

Stayed at the Brooklyn for 4 nights - had a fab time while we were there!

Craig was very welcoming and always available to answer any queries or help us in any way he could. He even catered to our awkward requests, and breakfast was nothing short of spectacular. Nothing was too much trouble for him or Hayley, and it's nice to stay somewhere where you can have a laugh with the staff and a bit of friendly interaction.

Rooms are cosy, warm and well kept - the Brooklyn is in a great location, quiet and relaxing but just a few minutes walk from the train station, the beach and the North Pier. I plan on staying here again and will definitely recommend! 10/10

Couldn't have been better!

Not impressed at all by this guest house, the shared toilet had no hand wasing facilites and was shared with at least 6 other rooms along with the shower room(that had no lighting as the bulb had gone and ther was no one available to change it) the room was far to small with only a open clothes rail that was impossable to use as it hung in the corner at the bottom of the bed. the owner smoked on the premisses and you could smell it when entering & ash trays were provided in the room with a request to use them.ther was no toilet paper after the first night and no soap in the shower room,the door to our room had been badly damaged and a poor repair had been attempted, we had to wait to be seated for breakfast as there were only 4 tabels available. Parking was a good 10 min walk away and the guest house itself seems to be in the middle of a housing estate with dogs barking and litter everywere. they say you get what you pay for, this was definatley not the case.If you dont mind sharing a toilet with 6 other familys with no hand washing facilities, waiting to be seated while other people finish there breakfasts before you can have yours and enjoy the smell of stale cigerette smoke then this is the place for you.
