Excellent place to stay with parking and very friendly service. Clean rooms and very COVID  friendly. Gorgeous location. Only 4 miles from Port Isaac which we walked into and taxi back. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choices. Will be back.

Well worth the stay

If you are looking for a quiet rest or a close location to Port Issac, this may be the B&B you want.
An excellent facility, well run, clean with good rooms.
A good breakfast menu is provided in a pleasent room.

A Great Place For A Quiet Stay

Out in the country side with great views. A lovely welcome, the room was very homely and comfortable. A really good choice of breakfast which was fresh and hot, will definitely go back. Plenty of parking

Jill made us very welcome and our room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The delicious cooked breakfasts and home made preserves were from locally sourced ingredients, and served in the sunny dining room.
We also had an excellent dinner at St Kew Inn on our second evening. 

Home from home!

After many years of working in tourism and travelling extensively I am a big fan of the great British B and B. Done well they can be a value for money delight and most owners work so hard to maintain high standards. So it is with Tregellist Farm, just outside Port Isaac, it’s clean and well maintained by its delightful owner and breakfast was a delight,  featuring local produce,  well presented. 

The room, however, could have been so much better with very little effort. We stayed in Honeysuckle, a small self contained double room with en suite shower room. It contained a comfortable king size bed with bed side tables, pine wardrobe and dressing table with a flat screen TV offering the very minimum of channels. We were only staying one night so the lack of space and limited TV was fine but, well, the magic word here is “de clutter”! There were dolls and teddies and bowls of pot pourrie taking up what little flat space there was on which to place our own belongings. The en suite was the same, one wash bag was perched on the loo cistern but there was no room for a second one or anything else!

There was so much that Tregellist got right: good quality decent sized towels; tea making facilities with fresh milk in the room; an umbrella in case it rained when you needed to go to breakfast in the main house; a tray in which to stand dirty shoes; a few biscuits in case you got an attack of the munchies; feather pillows and good quality bedding, etc. It’s sad that lack of black out linings in the curtains meant sleeping after dawn was a challenge and glaring room lights, some without shades, made the room look stark and unwelcoming at night. 

For £96 a night I confess that I expected better. One can’t do much about the thin walls, which meant that we could clearly hear everything happening in the room next door or the room size, but it would not take much effort to improve the illusion of more space by decluttering and making the best of the space available. 

Finally, they offer free WiFi, which is a bit on the slow side but they are out in the countryside, so this is to be expected.

This is one of many times that I wish Trip Advisor had a rating between average and very good as I would rather have awarded a “good” - it could so easily become better than average.

Decluttering!

Stayed for two nights. Location is very quiet countryside location but only 10 minutes from the picturesque Port Isaac. Gill was a very welcoming and charming host. The room was comfortable and well appointed with lovely china tea service. The absolute highlight was a perfect breakfast with everything sourced locally, plenty of it and very nicely presented. A great final touch was Gill presenting us with a dozen eggs on departure!
