It may be there is a better B&B than at The Old Deer House, but you would be hard pressed to find it!!   Louella and Robin have a happy knack of welcoming their guests as though part of the family, which continues throughout one's stay.

Bedrooms are extremely comfortable, with little extra touches, and breakfasts will easily set you up for the day ahead. 

Above all, both are excellent converationalists, whether about the many places they have visited or, probabaly, on almost any other subject you may care to suggest!

Such a beautiful location and great hosts. We stayed 3 nights and were so pampered. We had a great day at the minions and another in Boscastle. Tried out the pond at the old deer house and it was great. So sorry to leave.  Thank you Louellla and Robin 

The best place to stay in Bodmin  Moor

What a find! Really comfortable bedrooms  beautiful location and the most hospitable hosts. Louella and Robin are such genuinely nice friendly people. We definitely would recommend staying with them. 

Beautiful location. Fabulous hosts.

Robin and Louella gave us a wonderfully warm welcome. Delicious dinner, washed down by generous amounts of good wine. Then a fantastic breakfast after an excellent night's sleep in very comfortable beds. Entertaining conversation, amusing anecdotes - altogether great fun. And all this in an exceptionally beautiful location, with a magnificent view. Highly recommended.

A wonderfully warm welcome - thank you

A wonderful stay.  Louella and Robin were the perfect hosts, warm, entertaining and so welcoming.  Very comfortable stay in the romantic garden house.  Delicious breakfast.  Very kind with my 95 year old uncle who stayed in the house and reported it was the most comfortable bed he had ever slept in!  Highly recommend.

Magical stay.

I have been staying in B&B's throughout Ireland & the British Isles for over 55 years. This is the best one I have ever stayed in. Countryside location/views were outstanding. The room could not have been more luxurious with excellent linens & a terrific shower.  Louella and her husband Robin are incredible conversationalists as they have traveled the world all of their lives. Be sure to take her up on any offer for her to prepare dinner as she is an excellent cook.Have never had a better over night experience. Cannot recommend it highly eno

Best B&B ever

Wish we had more days to stay in this beautiful, cozy, relaxing place where every morning is such a blessing to wake up in an amazing view of greenery, lotus pond, horses, rolling hills and lovely friendly dogs. 
Robin and Louella are such a lovely couple and great hosts. Had a great time exchanging adventure stories with them.
Food is superb and the rooms are just lovely - clean bathroom, lots of clean warm towels and the softest bed and pillows.
Will definitely go back and recommend to friends

Definitely coming back!

We have just spent 2 days with Louella and Robin at their beautiful home. We visited with 2 friends, and all agreed it was wonderful. Our hosts were so friendly and the stories of their very interesting life was an added bonus. The room was lovely , glad we had a step to get into the beautiful 4 poster bed as I’m quite short. Being lucky with the weather we were able to enjoy the panoramic views across the countryside. Breakfast was served in the conservatory and was scrumptious. We look forward to going back, and spending another memorable break.

Wonderful experience

For us, The Old Deer House and the hosts Louella and Robin were actively part of a very happy experience and not just a base for our trip to a wedding in Cornwall.  The setting is splendid and the house both comfortable and beautiful.  Louella and Robin were generous and attentive hosts who from the point of our initial booking onward (and despite us having to make numerous changes to our plans) took first class and very thoughtful care of us. The breakfasts were delicious.

Our party consisted of my wife and me, our daughter and her two daughters (11 and 9) and a very elderly dog and all of us, including the dog, felt we had made an excellent choice in coming to the Old Deer House.

An excellent experience

I can’t speak highly enough of Louella and Robin (L&R). Louella was so attentive before I had even gotten there (saving me a lot of time and money through her suggestions). She made sure I was able to get to and from the wedding on time and had thought of everything – I was extremely grateful as a solo traveller to have someone giving me advice and keeping a caring eye on things. 

Quickly upon arrival, the house felt like a home as L&R really do open it up to you and welcome you warmly. Drinks for arrival, beautiful rooms and a lovely tour of the grounds (well the garden, the grounds would take far too long!) and a hot water bottle for the evening. Breakfast was first rate too. The conversation was interesting, open and refreshing. I’ve not stopped raving about this gem of a place since I’ve been back and set on coming back yearly, with friends and family, if they’ll have us! 

This was a chance finding and far exceeded every possible expectation. Truly a perfect place to experience a home away from home, with the finest company in a beautiful spot in the world. What a treasure. A credit to L&R for how they run the B&B.
