We booked in for the weekend and had a fantastic stay all the staff was so helpful nothing was to much trouble.
Our double room with on own private bathroom was first class and very clean.
We also used the pubs restaurant for our evening meals each night food was first class too.as for breakfast could d
not complain at all. The main Bar had lots of choice of drinks at great prices which I took full advantage of 
So in all we had a fantastic weekend thanks to all at the cornish Arms 

First class cornish Arms accommodation 

Went for a nice romantic meal and I was stunned!  Mac and cheese did not disappoint, my other half had a medium rare steak and was absolutely amazed how well it came out! Big thanks to Ebony behind the bar, kept us entertained and learnt a lot about the variety of ales and beers that are local around Cornwall. Would definitely recommend to everyone coming

Clean comfortable room, really friendly staff, great breakfast always a pleasure to stay here.  Great food and drink and well priced wine choices.  very welcoming place nothing too much trouble.   Love their new wine bar in Port Isaacs too Great vibe

Great Stay

The inn itself is in a really good position and the bar area has a lovely charm about it. It does not have a separate restaurant so you are eating in the bar area although there is one little room off the bar area which is quite nice as the bar can get quite noisy. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was not what I expected it has been redecorated and revamped but is quite old fashioned in a way and the colours would not be everyone's taste. The bed however was comfortable and the the room clean. We thought the food was good for the money especially the fish pie which was delicious. Breakfasts were lovely, freshly cooked and the menu had plenty of choice I might add the waiter was delightful. The rates are not cheap but then no where is in that region. We would definitely return if in the area.

Pro's and Cons

I've visited The Cornish Arms many times over 27 years for drinks and meals when staying nearby so it was the obvious choice when I needed a bed for 4 nights. I was working at a nearby Festival and out from 7.45am to late each day so I needed a comfy local bed. 
The room was lovely, nice bed, good facilities, very clean.
I checked I had been given a front door key as I'd be returning late and made sure which key was which before leaving for my first evening shift. I was not back until 12.30am - I had a head torch and the correct key. It turned anti-clockwise for a whole turn with no resistance but refused to budge at all in a clockwise direction. I tried for 15 mins, phoned the Pub (went to answerphone) and banged on the door. I checked the side door. I went back to the front door and tried again - no luck. In despair  I  phoned and woke up a friend who was in a holiday cottage a few miles away and drove there to sleep on the sofa. In the morning I returned around 7.15am and the door was open. I had a shower then looked around for a member of staff. The only person available was a very nice chef. We tried the key in the door and could replicate the issue I had by putting the 'snip' down in the locked position. 
That evening I returned early at 8.30pm but the barman said the Owner was out. I left a message which the barman wrote down, with my phone number.
The following days I was out from 7.45 til late and managed to get into the Pub with the Key. (The only people around when I left each day were chefs and the Pub was locked up in the evenings).
I heard nothing at all from the Owner after my verbal and written messages - I then messaged via Booking.com and received no reply, so emailed the pub and still no reply. Finally a reply arrived after I complained to Booking.com -  The Owner claimed that I had probably been turning the key the wrong way (I wasn't - I'm capable of turning a key both ways) and showing not a thread of concern that a lone woman was locked out in the middle of the night. What would have happened if I had been dropped off by a friend and had no car? 
I'm afraid I won't be giving the Cornish Arms my custom again and neither will my friends and family.

Nice room - if only I could have slept in it all the nights I paid for!

The pub itself is much more charming than the staff. The landlords were nowhere to be seen for an entire fortnight  despite living in the cottage next door. I did find “Lee” particularly friendly and forthcoming however. Lee made sure everyone was satisfied with the service and was quick to answer any questions regarding the pubs history. Top bloke that lee 10/10 for imagination

The bar maid was very vague and distant but lee more than made up for her lack of attention and service

Great Stay in Cornish Arms.  Always a lovely welcome, the open fire was lit when we arrived on a rainy day which was perfect.  We stayed again for 4 nights with our family booked in for birthday dinner ..all 30 of us.  The food for our stay was excellent but we were so happy with the management of our family group dinner.  Every dish was perfect, service was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.  We had vegan dishes particularly loved vegan chilli, vegan curry and veggie burger, fish pie excellent, steaks perfectly cooked, crab linguine.

Great Inn, great food, great value

We stayed at The Cornish Arms Inn for one night during a hike of the South West Coast Path. Room and service were absolutely fine, with the staff/owners being very nice and attentive. Food was great (a.o. Cornish Fish Pie, Knickerbocker Glory). The only slight setback for hikers: the inn can (and should) only be reached by bus - though the stop is really conveniently located right in front of the building.

Nice accommodation with great food

We were a large group and found the food disappointing. Mixed portion sizes, they had great variety on crab dishes and they were probably the dishes to go for, unfortunately a few of us allergic to the shell fish so did not try. Not sure the best place to go for as a large group.

Rather disappointing

Stayed at this amazing property for several nights. An old fashioned pub and hotel. Magical. The staff…Sam, Zayna, Paraic and Vicky were wonderful people and great ambassadors for the company. All were attentive and friendly during our visit. Great atmosphere. Food superb and great helpings. Will be back for sure.
