A really spotless, well decorated and welcoming establishment with excellent hosts. 

Our room was very comfortable indeed and the en-suite bathroom was clean and sparkling!  

Our breakfasts were very tasty with everything freshly cooked to order. Now we are back home, I am missing those breakfasts! 

There is plenty of free parking at Southernhay and we also took advantage of the complimentary wifi connection throughout our stay. 

My wife and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Southernhay Guest House, Bournemouth. We give it 5***** ratings in all categories! 


You won't be disappointed!

The guest house is situated about 15 mins from Alum Chine beach and 200 yds from Westborne town centre. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable.The hosts were very friendly and welcoming.Breakfast was an extra £10 per person but was worth it as the food was , good and freshly prepared to order. There is no evening meal served but there are numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants in Westborne town centre. There is plenty of free parking on site .Some people who have mobility problems  may find the steep set of stairs to the room a problem. The  guest house is situated on  a bend in the road so exiting the car park  safely can be a bit  of a gamble. Perhaps a mirror could be placed across the road  to aid the driver's vision of the road. Overall a very pleasant place to stay in Bournemouth.

Superb Guest House.

Amazing b and b, lovely and clean amazing rooms, the breakfast is also brilliant. Really enjoyed our stay again. The third time we have been and will certainly go back again. So close to the town and the lovely beach.

Brilliant

Very comfortable and clean. Close to Westbourne town so many decent restaurants to select from. Plenty of easily accessible buses to choose from. Plenty of parking and relatively quiet. Good value for money.

Worth a visit

We set off from Nottingham  to Guernsey for a honeymoon.To cut a long story short we missed the ferry  , no rooms anywhere, Southernhay saved us. .The guest house is beautiful..excellent..thanks both 

Honeymoon experience

Beautiful, spotlessly clean room, comfortable beds and tea/coffee facilities too . Walking  distance to beach and Westbourne town centre. Our hosts were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Ample car parking and delicious cooked breakfast. Can definitely recommend and will be returning again in the future.

Perfect location to explore Bournemouth. 
Set in a very quiet location. Room clean and comfy. Slept really well.
Breakfast was served by the owner Darren who is a cracking host. Very welcoming. Plenty to choose from and a cooked breakfast aswell. 
Will deffo stay here again.

Great stay and perfect host

We stayed here for 5 days as we were attending a family wedding close by. We cannot in anyway fault Southernhay. We had a warm friendly welcome on arrival and thought out our stay. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was first class with plenty of choice - cooked breakfast, cereals, fruit ect. The location is perfect - restaurant and shops a few minutes walk. The beach a 10 minute walk though parkland. The beach is beautiful and quiet compare to the pier which is an easy walk away. We all really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay in this beautiful area

Great place to stay

Nice guest house, good service and friendly staff makig the stay very pleasant. Good base to do a little exploring, close enough to go to the town centre on a bus, electric bike, or scooter, far enough away to have a quite night's sleep. Will stay here again.

Pleasant Stay.

Great little B&B, run by the owners who are hardworking. Lovely breakfast, room (and whole house) nice and clean. Shampoo and body wash dispensers in your en suite should you have forgotten your own. Would definitely stay here again.
