What a wonderful, full of character place to stay! We had a lovely long weekend with all our children and grandchildren, including 6 aged 7 and under. The children loved it! Plenty of board games to choose from, separate room with X-box etc but best of all they loved the fancy dress rail and spent hours dressing up as different characters. There is also a garden to use and sufficient off street parking. 

The house itself is quirky and spacious and is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need (including a high chair for the youngest member of the family). Plenty of communal space for the 19 of us and the 12 bedrooms were very comfortable. 

The hosts, Alison and Carl were very friendly and helpful, giving us tips of the surrounding area and answering any queries we had and then just left us to it. Thank you both once again. 

Wonderful Family Weekend!

Having Just spend a lovely weekend with all my wife's family, at one time there were at least 19 people staying here, what a lovely quirky place, we had a brilliant time, many thanks to the owners for allowing us too stay


Family get together

The house exceeded all expectations. Excellent facilities with a great entertaining space. Wonderfully decorated and lots of little extras included from a bottle of bubbly to a pint of milk. Trying to think of another reason to have a party to go back. 

Party weekend

AMAZING!! Alison was brilliant with all our enquiries before booking and the lead up to arrival- nothing was ever too much!
Was so excited for the house and once we arrived it was even better than we expected.
The personal touches made it so special from prosecco ready in the fridge to a fancy dress room.

Amazing!!!

We booked here for a hen weekend and the photos don't do it justice. A beautiful place to stay! There was everything you'd need and more. Fresh flowers, cake, chocs and prosecco all added a lovely touch. The views were lovely too. Will definitely be back!

Brilliant weekend at such a lovely venue

We booked this for a pre Christmas family get together and everything about it exceeded our expectations.  All the rooms are a decent size and the only one without an en suite is right by the main bathroom.  Rooms at the rear had amazing views of the garden and beyond to the countryside, rooms at the front overlooked the small park and row of shops.  The kitchen was very well equipped and it was so lovely to be able to seat everyone around the long dining table.  The hosts had put lots of beautiful Christmas decorations and left cake and other little things to make our stay perfect.  I can't recommend this enough.

Lovely venue for a family weekend

First visit to this hotel on recommendations. We ordered a sharing platter for lunch which was really tasty and plenty for both of us. Lovely setting, great service with a smile and reasonably priced.

A pleasant find

Stayed here last weekend for a hen do. 17 of us. Plenty of space. Bedrooms were all clean and fresh. Most had en-suite bathrooms. Kitchen was extremely well equipped and dining room table fit all of us comfortably! Garden was gorgeous too. Front living room was absolutely divine. Hosts were amazing, giving us a brilliant tour and had even left us a homemade cake for when we arrived along with some champagne! Such lovely touches. So glad we picked this place it was beautiful! Definitely recommend!

Absolutely fabulous!

I went to Southbourne Grove House as a surprise for my Hen Do with 17 others. The photos do not do the house justice, it is beautiful! Every little detail is well thought out, from the incredible lounge, well-fitted kitchen to the fancy dress area in the conservatory. The rooms are all of a good size and gorgeously styled. The hosts left us some lovely welcome presents, and (according to the maid of honour) were incredibly helpful throughout the whole booking process, giving recommendations on local places to visit, questions for guests etc. All of the guests absolutely loved the place and were incredibly impressed with the stunning property! Thank you for having us!

Amazing quirky venue, ideal for large parties

Had a lovely breakfast, lovely and hot, freshly cooked with toast and tea, very friendly service and didn't wait to long, very enjoyable indeed, have been before, dinners are very good as well with a choice of starters and desserts should you want one, well worth a visit.
