Had our  Christmas  night away at Busta. We had  fantastic  night. The food is always  perfect.  Grant, Joel and all their team provide the best service. Nothing is too much trouble. The service  is professional and friendly.
Would  recommend  bedrooms  Foula and Linga. Both have recently renovated  and are stunning.
There is something  special about  cosying up with either a warm drink or a dram un the long room in rhe afternoon and after dinner.

The perfect  place to stay in Shetland 

We have travelled widely through Scotland, the Hebrides, the Orkneys and the Shetland Islands and a week at Busta House was the high point of trips over a number of years. Beautifully restored and maintained, the hotel still captures its over 430 year old history. Looking out over the water towards the town of Brae, the hotel is well placed to explore the whole of the Shetlands. A double + for us was the friendly staff and what must be the best restaurant in all the Shetlands. Busta House was special and unique and we highly recommend it for a short or lengthy stay.

Lovely, helpful staff who are attentive at all hours of the day. Delicious food served throughout the day and a great selection of whisky. Also room was very comfortable and one of the best baths I've had at a hotel in a long time.

A gem on Shetland

Such a lovely setting, from the drive up to the building and the layout of the building. You can tell it has a lot of TLC to make it look as welcoming as it does. The room is a mixture of classic Scottish Decor but has your mod cons like a new bathroom and Smart TV etc, so a mix of the old with the new to make your stay pleasant. Even if you don't stay here the restaurant is a must, I had the most delicious lasagne with garlic bread, veg with a Red Wine and then Sorbet with a nice Baileys Coffee! Staff are very friendly and welcoming. It is my first time in Shetlands and here for business but if I end up back here I I will definitely be booking here again for hotel stay and restaurant. 

Beautiful Scenery and a Warm Welcome and Stay

What a privilege to spend two nights in this gorgeous hotel, and in such a stunningly beautiful location.  Busta House oozes history and charm, while remaining warm and comfortable.  Our room had a view of the water, a comfortable bed and a modern, spacious bathroom.  The corridors are narrow and you feel drunk walking along the floors.  Or maybe that's just due to the effects of the extensive whisky collection in the cozy and delightful lounge.  The hotel has a lovely garden and we were lucky to spend some time exploring it before the weather kicked in.  We were treated very well by the friendly and helpful staff.  A special nod to Grant who was very generous with his time.  This place is very special and well worth your while.  And no sign of Barbara - just in case you are wondering about the ghost.

An historic gem

I actually won this night in Busta House in a raffle, which they had very kindly donated. 
As usual, everything was just perfect. We were in the Vementry room, which has a lovely sea view. The bed was lovely and comfortable, and massive lol.
Our evening meal was excellent! We had the prawns for a starter, my husband had the haddock, which was HUGE, and I had the steak, which was cooked exactly as I like it. The Bailey's cheesecake was to die for. 
Full Scottish breakfast set us up for the day. 
Full marks for the staff. Everyone was polite, attentive, helpful, and smiling.

Perfect Shetland retreat.

The warmest of welcomes at this quaint outpost of the truly magical island of Shetland.  The staff are exemplary.  The food is plentiful and delicious.  The rooms comfortable and in keeping with the age of the building.  Not to mention the biggest selection of whiskey ever

Exemplary service

This was a return two-night visit after our first one in February 2021 and if anything service was even better this time if that were possible. Staff at Busta House are very well trained and extremely attentive. Our room this time (Muckle Roe) was unexpectedly large and very comfortable with excellent heating and a very comfortable bed. The menu and food served were nicely varied and always of a high quality. Service was very quick and efficient at every mealtime and it was easy to see why so many locals had booked to dine here each night of our stay. The building has a lovely atmosphere and great character.

Another welcoming visit to Busta House

Busta House Hotel is a fabulous atmospheric building with lovely comfortable rooms, some with sea views. The food is excellent and the staff are so accommodating. Love this place, will be back again soon

Fabulous experience 

A fabulous few days at a beautiful hotel. Fantastic food, amazing wine, gin and whisky lists and absolutely incredible staff. Nothing was too much trouble- even organising a last minute taxi to Up Helly Aa. 
What a great team of people - we were sad to leave and will definitely hurry back. There’s nowhere else we would rather stay in Shetland now!
