We arrived back at 10:30 the Saturday night after our meal. Wanted to take a shower, but there was no warm water. We felt it was to late at night to bother our host and decided to tell him about it at breakfast. I was truly shocked at his responds. He did not apologise, but said as a quick responds( as if it is not a big deal) there were probably to many people that had just used water. 11 at night?? Then he said it must be the water supplier so basically NOT his problem. When we were not satisfied he finally gave a quick non care sorry. Not what you would expect of a place like that. Really shocking and disappointing. This was a weekend away with friends- their Christmas gift. 

Extremely diss appointing attitude to seevice delivery

Wow! What a great place, wonderful history, exceptional food and a special bedroom in the main building. We thoroughly enjoyed our 24 hrs at the Farm and the staff were so friendly and helpful. 
As a party of 20, the dining area was superb and it made the celebration feel very special. The food was delicious, the mains being all hot and a huge selection of vegetables. To do that in one serving was impressive! 
A special, unique and enchanting place. Would definitely return. 👍🏻👏🏻

Special in every aspect!

We have now stayed twice at Blackmore Farm in the Cider Press accommodation. Firstly just the 2 of us and our 2 dogs. Absolutely ideal as it has its own little secure garden. Fully furnished and kitted out with everything you need to be self sufficient. We then visited again taking my elderly mother. Again our hosts Ian and Ann were so accommodating and friendly. Excellent breakfast. We will be back again no doubt 

Excellent little get away

Host was rude, electrical outage continuously, no apologies. Warned not to have showers at same time as others guests as water would run out. It ran out, didn’t come back. Host knew this problem was there but still charged and made no apologies 

Very poor service

possibly one of the best breakfasts i've had you sit  in little huts  and there are animals for the little ones to go see there, is a very good farm shop selling gifts and all manner of different foods

I was lured by the roadside sign for the farm shop, which turned out to be the least of Blackmore Farm's attractions. As you can see from the photo, the main building is a lovely 15th century manor house, built in the local stone. There are two spacious gardens behind the house in which you can stretch your legs or just look out over the countryside.

We went to the farm cafe. The staff were charming. The range of cakes and scones was good, and the quality did not disappoint. The coffee was good, too. 

The cafe provides a variety of seating. There are well-spaced tables in the cafe garden (which also has a climbing frame/slide thing at the back of the garden) and tables inside what look like stable stalls.

The farm cafe also does lunch - paninis, jacket potatoes, soups - and advises booking for its Sunday lunch.

I was so satisfied by the experience that I went back and had an excellent onion & cider soup, followed by a piece of Somerset apple cake.

Portions were good and prices were fair. 

Lovely setting for a good meal or tea

This B&B was beyond accommodating. The staff was kind. The breakfast was amazing. We had a room with a twin and double bed which had a small kitchen space, a lounge and a little garden with chairs and tables. It was all lovely, and I would 100% recommend staying here!

The house was absolutely stunning, and the Dyers were warm and congenial hosts.  Beautiful property and delicious breakfasts elegantly served.  The rooms were exquisite and spacious—the building is a genuine with Tudor structure with everything from a garderobe  to a chapel.  We really enjoyed our stay!

Delightful Stay!!!

Blackmore Manor house is a stunning place to stay. We booked 2 nights in The Gallery and were really sorry to leave. Ian and Ann are the perfect hosts; friendly, generous and really enthusiastic about their beautiful house. 
Booking online was simple and we arrived to a warm welcome from Ann who provided us with freshly brewed tea and coffee and homemade cake.

The gallery is a stunning room in the old house. The room is more like a suite and full of character - the main bedroom downstairs with a huge lounge area upstairs, lots of space and decorated with tapestries and furnishings in keeping with the historic building. The higgledly staircase could be an issue for some, but we loved it.

A hearty breakfast was served in the hall, we ate amongst the collection of arms, a suit of armour and a grand fireplace. Delicious freshly cooked farm produce, lots of choice and nothing was too much trouble. A chat with Ian was a delight and he  happily explained the history of the farm and it's recent refurbishment.

Excellent value for money - can't wait for our next visit.

Positives first- The Rarebit was delicious; creamy, tasty, topped with lovely thick bacon and a gorgeous orange yolked egg. The side salad was tasty and well dressed. My mum's Stilton mushrooms were also well received. Our daughter and young son enjoyed the little play area which is a nice inclusion.

What needs work- Our very careful booking was lost. Thankfully there was a spare table when we arrived but considering the volume of customers coming in without bookings, and struggling to find tables, we were lucky.

A young waitress came to our table and was removing the high chair for our one year old without asking right in front of us. We had to ask her to leave it!

Dairy-free options were thin on the ground. My wife had to pay extra for her Ploughman's so as not to include cheese but still get 2 items. This needs a rethink please, especially when there's a paucity of other options.

The drinks fridge is at the back of the ordering area meaning it's hard to see what's available. My mum accidentally ordered a cider believing it to be non-alcoholic. The other issue caused by the non-table service system was that when there was a problem we had to join a long queue at the ordering hut to rectify it.

Wasps! Not directly the farm's fault that we were constantly pestered by wasps but considering how they were plaguing the outside area it would be worth investigating for nests. It was incredibly unpleasant trying to eat and drink whilst enduring the wasps bothering us, landing on our for and drinks.
