A 2 night stay was most enjoyable. Our room was warm & well appointed. Breakfast was brilliant & actually surpassed our higher priced stay elsewhere. The evening meals were equally good & incredibly good value. Nice wines at a nice price too. All the staff were very friendly. Emily & Hannah were exceptional. This privately owned hotel deserves every success.

Superb & great value for money

Stayed with friends for two nights in this charming Hotel. Lovely hotel made all the more special by the exceptional service of Emily and Evie. However all the staff we met were very friendly. Rooms comfortable with good facilities. Great location for walking the Quantocks.

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff

We are two couples who have just stayed two nights in this lovely charming small hotel during a walking trip around the Quantocks.  From the moment we arrived we felt at home and very comfortable, made more so by the lovely attentive staff, Emily and Evie, for which nothing was too much trouble and everything delivered in a professional/calm manner, complete with smiles. Breakfasts and our one dinner there were excellent and accommodation good, especially the bathrooms (great showers) - and lovely hotel staff who keep everything so clean. Some nice little extras which were a pleasant surprise and contributed to the warmth and ambience of this castle of 'comfort' ! Good car parking but busy road at times so would not advise starting walks from hotel as there are free woodland car parks nearby.

Now we know why its called Castle of 'Comfort'

A fabulous little hotel, brilliant food and a lovely comfortable atmosphere.  The rooms are impeccable and cleaned very quickly during the breakfast time  The staff were a delight and very attentive to the needs of travellers.
Better than many large hotels we have stayed in.  Very much one to return to.

Brilliant

We really enjoyed our stay here! We were guests at a wedding at Quantock Lakes, 2 miles down the road, so this was the perfect place to stay.
Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and had everything you needed with a few added extras - plenty of tea and coffee and toiletries. The bed was also very comfortable and we slept very well!
The breakfast was definitely a highlight - a good selection available on the menu and all cooked / prepared to order. We would definitely stay again if we returned to the area.

A charming period hotel

What can I say, the hotel delivers from the moment you arrive and are met with such a warm welcome - I have been visiting Somerset for many years and  more often than not and to say the food is amazing is an understatement.  The owner/chef cooks amazing dishes and all fresh and the ambience well it speaks for itself.  Returning soon and so looking forward to a bit of special where you can put the daily exercising and watching the calories on hold and just enjoy it all !! The pool is great too - Thank you all at Castle of Comfort xx

The owners and staff, nothing is too much to accommodate your stay

From the moment we stepped out of the Car We felt wanted...Meghan met us and showed us to our room...what a lovely lady, nothing was too much trouble...
Loved the feel and atmosphere of the Hotel and boy it didn't disappoint in any way !!
We had a bar snack and two pints with sandwiches in the evening after a full on day at our wedding.. The room was brilliant with views over the back.     Breakfast in the morning was beautifully cooked and well presented.    If I can make one remark that would make you stay here ..I thoroughly recommend The Castle of Comfort....You won't be disappointed...Give it a try..👍⭐💯

A fabulous stay

We arrived and parked at the side of the hotel. A short walk around the front to the entrance. We were greeted by Imogen (I think), who promptly booked us in and escorted us to our lovely room. A shower and bath were available. Tea/coffee facilities were also in the room, plus (a nice touch) a glass of sherry. The room was spacious and well laid out with some nice 16 century touches. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. 
We had a lovely English breakfast, which set us up for the day. 
Details of local places of interest and taxi contacts were in the room. 
Thank you to the staff of this hotel, including those behind the scenes, which helped make our short stay a success.

Wedding Reception Accommodation

After a long drive we were welcomed with a cuppa and cake, a lovely thought to the start of our holiday. We stayed at the 'Castle of Comfort' on our way to the West Coast. We were shown to our room which was very spacious and accessible. The shower was big and the room itself lovely. We booked in for a meal and I've got to say it was first class. It was nice to have a comfortable lounge/bar area to retire to after our meal. All the staff at the Castle of Comfort were friendly and very helpful. A lovely stay.

First Class

We've been before to stay, and for afternoon tea, and certainly recommend the hotel. Everything is top notch and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.  Rooms are super cosy, and room 8 in particular is ground floor with a lobby entrance attached which is perfect for cases and storing things you don't readily need.  The menu is a foodie's delight, afternoon teas to absoulutley die for!  In short this hotel is perfect.  We couldnt fault anything.  Top marks to all the team.  We will be back!
