Rooms are great here. Spacious and modern. 
Great reception from the staff and a lovely breakfast.
If you want on site parking be aware it’s tight no more than ten cars maybe but there’s lots of free on street parking and I mean lots !
Would highly recommend

Lovely stay at The Wellington

The food and the service was excellent will definitely be going back again great atmosphere .The food was cooked to perfection as we all had steak each one was cooked to the way we wanted.A Hugh thank you to all the staff.

Great. Food.

A really mixed bag of poor service, nice food and meat only fit for the dogs.
We arrived and were seated quickly which was good.
Drinks were ordered quickly and brought to the table by a lovely server. This was good.
We ordered our food and then waited over 25 minutes for them to be brought to the table. This was bad.
The squid was soft and tasty and the scotch eggs were good and bad… one was really tasty and the other seemed like it had been left under the lamps too long as the yolk was congealed and the dusting of chopped herbs looked dry.
When I asked the small chap serving us why it took so long and if he had something to say his replay was mumbled along the lines of “that’s just how it is… we’re really busy and have lots of reservations”
You’ll see from the pictures how busy it was!
That was the first “ugly” moment.

The roast dinners arrived and things looked up. Great looking yorkshire puddings that were clearly home made, lovely stacks of meat and roast potatoes on each plate. Then came the veg in plentiful supply, all cooked beautifully and presented well. My only question here is why the braised red cabbage? (Nobody ate it.)
The pork belly was pretty good if a little bland but the beef was so bad we ended up taking the meat back for the dogs… it was like eating chewy jelly and very poorly prepared. I’ve yet to hear if the dogs turned their noses up.

Time to leave… we asked for the bill… the same rather short and rude server came with the card machine asking me how we’d like to pay… I suggested he might like to show me the bill first as I’d like to see how much it was… he wandered off muttering.

If customer service isn’t his thing then I suggest he finds a different career path.

It was then left to his colleague to bring us the bill and after a conversation with the manager he was very open to a reduction in the bill for the poor service.

Possibly too open as we’d already heard another diner complaining about the same thing.

All in all I wouldn’t go back as there are far better options locally and I’d suggest you look elsewhere too.

Probably best as a pre match pint and not a Sunday lunch

I will never ever write a bad review about this place as I come here regularly but tonight I feel like this needs to be said 
We have came in to watch rugby World Cup due to all games being on the big screen with sound 
Now I know they do Saturday night live music which again is brilliant but tbh putting that on by the big screen and turning the sound off is so sos bad because at least 15 people walked out due to that and then we all get pushed to the restaurant to watch the game which we should have to I feel this is really bad and I feel bad writing this review but THIS HAD TO BE SAID AND BE ACKNOWLEDGED 
There is more people for rugby than the Music tonight 
But on the plus side 
Great food great atmosphere and great staff 


Rugby World Cup UNHAPPY 

We have stayed a number of times at The Wellington and are always pleased with our stay. The rooms are good, the beds very comfortable, staff very helpful and the breakfast is just right.  We would not hesitate to recommend The Wellington to either stay or just have a meal and drink.

Another good stay

Absolutely lovely time had by all the family. Excellent service all the way through - weren’t left waiting or wanting at any point. Delicious food, quality drinks menu and great food selection for our 4 year old daughter - the kids play area in the beer garden kept her entertained between the main meal and pudding.

Delicious Sunday Roast with extras!

Emma and Daisy gave fantastic service during a busy Friday nights service. The Wellington was absolutely rammed and exceeded expectations with their food especially the Steak and Mussells. We had a family meal here and were really pleased that despite the low levels of staff we were not short changed on outstanding friendly and attentive service from Daisy and Emma! We had Vouchers from
a Bath Ales competition and this was an easy transaction, so strong omnichannel service. Great Food, great service and we will back!

Great roast

We stayed at the Wellington for one night for my husband's birthday. It's the perfect place to start a pub crawl. Our room was really comfortable and clean. The bed is comfortable with good pillows and I love the bathroom with a spacious shower. 
Great selection of tea in the room. 
The restaurant was jam packed last night due to the football match, but everything had quieted down by bedtime and in the morning it was nice and quiet. I would definitely stay again.

Great room and nice pub

1st class! We stayed with our dog who was treated like royalty, with treats, a ball and a can of dog beer (Proper Dog) there was even a bottle of Proper Job for me 🤗. The room was spotless and the service in the pub friendly and efficient. The food was well priced and good quality ‘pub’ food. We will be back.
