A lovely idyllic place, beatiful views, away from the hustle & bustle, very picturesque. Paul and Louise (and Brad the cat!) were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was superb, room was perfect. Will be back again!

An absolutely delightful stay at this wonderful place, run by the best hosts, Paul and Louise. The place is extremely clean with high quality amenities, and a breathtaking views of the valley. The breakfast is surely one of the best I’ve ever had, absolutely delicious and fresh straight from the farm next door - menu options are better than any five star hotel in London. Would highly recommend staying here for a tranquil stay near Snowdon

The best stay near Snowdon!

Louise and Paul were very welcoming and accommodating. The grounds and gardens are beautiful with fantastic views. Room was very comfortable, clean and with everything you could need. Breakfast was also spot on with plenty to chose from. Would highly recommend.

Top class accommodation with stunning views. We stayed here for two nights. Had such a lovely welcome, we found Louise and Paul, to be the nicest of hosts. Great information given of the local area and about where to eat. 
Room and bathroom, immaculate. Superb breakfast. Looking forward to staying again.

A very relaxing stay, with the nicest of hosts.

Stayed here for the weekend. Can’t fault anything. The location, room and hosts all lovely. And the breakfast to die for. So good we bought some eggs from the farm next door to bring home. If you are looking for a luxury base in the heart of Snowdonia look no further. We will definitely be back soon. Thanks for a great weekend.

Fantastic luxury B&B with super friendly hosts

I have never felt so genuinely welcome at a B&B in my life; I truly felt like I was a personal guest, even though (blush) I was a very, very bad guest.  

I spilled coffee on the carpet. I made the rookie mistake -- after 30 years of staying in British B&Bs! -- of leaving with the room key and having to post it back. I can only plead that I was distracted by the fabulous breakfasts and the astounding view.

Paul cooks up eggs from the farm next door, and can do a proper poached egg, which isn't easy.  Louise does the rest of the cooked breakfasts, and together they put out a remarkable buffet -- the little arrangement of fruit on top of the yogurt-granola cups are little artworks.

The bed was extremely comfortable -- we were in 'The Loft', but don't worry -- only one flight of stairs. The bathroom in our room was out of a design magazine, and the view was out the front of the house, right down the Conwy Valley.  We had a couple of easy chairs but there was also a sitting room downstairs for guests' use, which we appreciated as we were a party of four; if we were going out, we had a place to gather and wait for a straggler (generally me, sigh), and if we wanted to talk over in the evening our plans for the next day, we had a convenient and comfortable place to do that, too.

So with apologies to Paul and Louise for causing them aggravation (and elsewhere in my life I rent out a house via AirBnB, so I know how aggravating these things are!),  I will heartily recommend Tan-y-Foel, the house "Under the Bald Mountain".  I hope I can stay there again.

5-star hosts; 5-star view; 5-star comfort!

The Tan-y-Foel Country House is perfectly sited for the view out over the Conway valley. The garden itself is a small thing of beauty, you could [and should] sit in it for hours. We loved the room, the breakfasts, and the Hosts were kindness itself. Not being  satnav persons, we found the place, tucked away in the tiny lanes, with a bit of expert map reading, and a small measure of luck ! More than its views, it is perfectly situated for Betws-y-Coed ["BYC" to the locals] and the out-doors shops, and in the other direction there is Llanwrst nearby, where we found one of the best Fish and Chip restaurants ever - worth a review on its own, that one !

Conway Valley Vista

We booked The Hayloft for three nights for our first visit to North Wales, as a base to explore the area and walk up Snowdon and what a good choice it was. 
Paul and Louise were so friendly and very helpful, the perfect hosts.
The house is lovely, in a wonderful location with amazing views across the valley. Our room was very comfortable, with everything we could need, and  we were spoilt for choice at breakfast.
We have had a really wonderful trip, and will definitely re book Tan y Foel for our next trip to Wales.

What an amazing place Tan y Foel is! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were blown over by the awesomeness of the place! The fantastic hosts did everything they possibly could to make our stay a memorable one. The warm welcome, knowledge of the local area and the pride, passion and dedication they both had really was second to none. 
The setting is stunning. The views down the valley towards Llanrwst and Llandudno are breathtaking. Our room (hay barn loft) was perfect and had every we needed for our chilled out weekend. 
The breakfast was delicious. We both went for a full English but could have probably had anything we could think of due to the high standard of service! 
Tan y Foel is easily one of the nicest places we have ever stayed and we will certainly be back! Thank you for a fantastic weekend!
