We were there for a cycle event in Northallerton.  It was a great location - we could cycle to the start.  We were in room 1 - which had everything we needed and we could park very close to the room.  The only thing that could have been better was the bedside light - not bright enough to read by so you had to keep the main light on for reading.  The restaurant food in the evening was fantastic - ate there 2 nights and loved everything we ate.  Breakfast was good - nothing fancy, but did the job.  And all the staff were fantastic.  Really friendly and efficient.

Great place to stay for quick access to Northallerton, but in a great quiet spot

Chalet accommodation was quaint and just enough for what we needed it for. In a truly beautiful location.
Food is absolutely amazing, the choices are eclectic and the parmos were fab!
Breakfast, again was excellent. All meals came piping hot on hot plates, beautifully presented.
Kitchen staff should be proud of themselves, they're a credit to the team. Bar staff too.
Highly recommend.

Excellent food

Short stay whilst attending a function at the hotel.
Rooms are very basic chalet style around the car park.
A lot of the rooms do not have windows but a single skylight and can be claustrophobic.
Beds are not particularly comfortable and bedding and towels of a poor quality.
Food average fare nothing special.
Okay for a brief stay, can only describe as a budget hotel albeit £90 per night B&B.

We hired the small function room for our daughter’s 2nd birthday, and it was perfect from start to finish.
The staff were so helpful and friendly, and the food (a hot buffet of Sunday roast elements, Thai curry and lasagne) was absolutely spot on.

Perfect spot for an intimate function 

The room I had was nothing like the one pictured. It was not a cosy room!
The one bedside lamp was too dull to read with and the desk lamp didn't work.
No USB sockets.
I didn't have dinner there.
There were no "continental " breakfast items - croissants for instance.
I should have stayed in nearby Northallerton,  a lovely North Yorkshire town.

Disappointing stay

Ate here two nights in a row while on holiday in the village. It’s a big pub with lots of parking, but the welcome is warm and friendly from all the staff. The second time we went they had catered for two weddings, but they still gave the same personal service to those of us in the bar. Average prices.
The food is very good, with a varied menu perhaps leaning towards several different curries. Everything we had was delicious, the owner Donna, can certainly cook. There are some different dishes that you don’t often find in other places too.
A real asset to this very pretty village, we enjoyed our visit very much.

Good food and a warm welcome

I stayed in a room last night, it was disgusting. It was filthy and mouldy. The TV is the size of the air vent and although I’ve never been to prison, I envisage that this would be very similar to one. 

On the plus note the staff were friendly and the food was nice in the bar area. But unfortunately the room let the experience down. When I handed my key in this morning I wasn’t asked about the room and the lady behind the bar mentioned to me that there were ‘moaning customers’ so I can only presume other people were unhappy with the stay

Bar - Yes…. Room - NO!!!!!

A pretty location for this Inn, just by the village green. More of a restaurant with rooms than a pub. The food was modern, Bao Buns for example, portion size was large. Breakfast was good value.
The ten rooms were modern, recently built and overlooking the car park. The rooms were basic, but clean, with cheap interiors. Towels were thin.  No Wi-Fi in the rooms and intermittent in the dining area.
It was late summer and warm outside, but cold in the rooms until about halfway through the night. I hate to think what it would be like to stay there in winter. I don’t think there is a lounge for guests. 
Clearly a place for those passing through or for functions . That being said, it was good value for money.

Good food, basic room

We stayed in motel style accommodation behind the main building.  Rooms are basic but clean, certainly no frills.   We were told that the rooms are 20 years old and the shower cubicles in particular show their age and need urgent renovations.  But the price includes a good breakfast and the staff are very nice and friendly.  We also had dinner on two nights in the pub and enjoyed the food.  Overall very good value for money and perfect for a stopover on a long journey.

Good value for money 

Visited this place after a long long time and we were not disappointed.  
We will definitely be back. 
The menu is varied and certainly value for money.  
Two courses £15.  The portions were substantial.  
I was stuffed 😜
Very pleasant. Staff attentive.

Even a lovely choc with my latte.
Which is missing in many places these days.. sadly.  But needed as a nice touch to end the meal.
