Just returned from Swiss House in Castleton and couldn’t fault it, spotlessly clean with excellent rooms equipped with everything you can think of. The breakfast was amazing and really sets you up for the day, that combined with the really friendly staff and first class service made for a very enjoyable stay and we’ll definitely be back again.

Brilliant place to stay in the Peak District

Swiss House Castleton is the only place to stay in Castleton. Rooms are very comfortable for a great nights sleep. 
Breakfast is the best really enjoy it every morning. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Lovely clean comfortable. Very happy friendly staff the rooms are lovely we had the best view amazing the shower was exceptional and breakfast was excellent for both quality and quantity would highly recommend a stay here

Excellent

This is a lovely little b&b. Room was small but clean and had everything you need. Breakfast was amazing plenty to choose from. Its in the perfect spot to go walking. I would defo recommend this b&b. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with anything. 

Perfect little b&b 

The B&B is in an ideal location for visiting the local area and right near a bus stop which was great as we were travelling by public transport. It has a private entrance for guests to the side and a welcoming cozy lounge that guests can use. There is also a shoe rack for muddy boots when you come in from a walk. The rooms are upstairs, ours was on the 2nd floor with a fantastic view of the Castle and Mam Tor from the window. There was a hook on the back of the door for coats and a large wardrobe as well.

The room was clean and well maintained with a large comfortable bed and all the amenities we needed (Tv/ kettle). The only thing that we felt let it down was the strength of the light bulbs as they were very dim. We ended up using the beside lights instead.  The bathroom fan was noisy when the light was on but there was also a motion light on the mirror to avoid having to use the main one. Bath towels were a great size and the shower was warm and had good water pressure. 

Breakfast had a nice spread of cereals and fruits that you could help yourself too as well as toast with a range of jams and butter. These were served at the bar along with fruit juice, with tea and coffee in the back room. Hot food was done by a member of staff coming to take your order. They were very accommodating with orders and although we didn't require it they did have vegan options available. The portions of hot food I thought were good and well cooked.

We didn't use the bar in the evening but it seems like they specialize in gins and it has a cozy seating area along with some board games. Again this was very clean and seemed quite busy one of the nights we were staying, no noise could be heard in our room. We did hear one of the neighbouring rooms in the morning but it was very breif and may have been as they passed our door which was opposite the stairs.

One thing to note is that it is payment on arrival so make sure to remember this when visiting.  I would happily stay here again if I were in the area.

Great stay

We visited the Swiss house for two nights in September. We were visiting Castleton for a friends birthday weekend. This B&B is fabulous. The view from our window was amazing. The staff are all lovely. The bed was very comfortable. We had everything we needed in the room. The breakfast was good too. Plenty of cereal, fruit, yogurt and bread for toast and you could pick what you liked from the cooked breakfast list. The food was lovely too. All fresh and locally sourced. One friend liked the black pudding so much and a friendly member of staff told him where they get it so he went and bought some from the farm shop. Excellent service. Only downside is we were on the 3rd floor so it was quite a trek after a few too many drinks lol. Overall fabulous B&B in a stunning location and I think we would definitely visit again.

Really easy booking and checking in.
Staff were the best part of the hotel, they were really helpful, accommodating and friendly.
The free breakfast was delicious, big selection of fruits and cereals and tailor made fried breakfast too.
The rooms were really clean and cosy too, and the beds were more comfortable than my own at home.
There is a trendy bar downstairs aswell with a wide selection of beers, with outside seating.
There is also a room downstairs named the dubbed 'the snug' where people staying in the b&b residents have access to, which was very cosy. 
We got a takeaway delivered and ate in that room. 

It was just a pleasant experience from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.

Fantastic b&b in castleton 

We stayed here as a group of 6 family members to celebration birthdays/anniversary in Castleton.  What a little gem this was, rooms were just perfect and had everything we needed.  I can honestly say I have never come across a more filled hospitality tray anywhere - impressive.  Beds were very comfy, loads of hot water and it was in an ideal location.  I would recommend and stay here again without hesitation.

What a find

We had a lovely stay(family of 3) . All the staff are friendly. Breakfast was lovely and very filling.  The bar was good (served real ales and usual lagers,wine,spirits and reasonably price (£3.90 for a pint of ale) children are welcome. 
It was ideally situated for a walk to Mam Tor and we did treak cavern & peak cavern.
We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay

We stayed here whilst walking the Limestone way. The room was excellent, really comfortable spacious and clean.  The staff were all really helpful and as we were walking 19 miles the following day we wanted to make an early start by leaving at 7am. We knew this would mean leaving before breakfast but the staff were very accommodating and arranged for us to have a packed lunch to take with us as a substitute. Really appreciated them doing that and would definitely stay again!
