Stayed here with friends to climb Snowdon. Free parking and great location for this. Bunkhouse itself is basic, but fine for our needs and affordable. Staff were helpful and gave us some pointers about walks and scrambles. Food there (had pizza) was decent.

Great location for Snowdon!

At £25 per night my bed fellow were treated with a double bunk room with en-suite! Large room for two, loads of space to spread our gear out before and after are marathon. The bathroom was perfectly adequate, I managed to get a very cool shower which was what was needed after a day out in unusually hot conditions.  A little noisy in the evening with residents talking loudly at silly o clock and some goby sheep in the car park having a chat at 4am.. but out of control of the hotel! The only negative bit was the mattress were old and tired and I felt I was being massaged by a thousand springs!
You get for what you pay for! Central location, very cheap!

Spend there my christmas and used it as a base to go on hikes to Snowdonia.
very practical, in the middle of town with good access to shop, local walks, the lake and snowdonia, is quite basic but has car park and pub, i would have prefered if the heater was on, but was well prepared for cold weather.

Popped in to refuel after a long day. Nice ale on tap. Pizza definitely not made from fresh hand rolled dough.
Cheap and cheerful. Good size outdoor area for a nice day.

Don't expect anything fancy and you won't be disappointed. Clearly a decent place once

Rustic is the word

Booked this hostel for 2 nights for myself and my sister in law. We climbed snowdon on the Saturday evening (midnight trek), so it was just a base to eat and sleep. 
We had food in the pub Saturday, which was really nice. Got back from our trek in the morning (Sunday) and had a few hours sleep. The water in the shower was Luke warm, not a nice experience after a midnight trek in the cold rain. And there was no heating on so room was cold. 
We checked out and found a nice hotel for the Sunday evening as we wanted some comfort. 
I would say you definitely get what you pay for,a no frills base. Perfect location for snowdon. The staff were lovely and friendly. I’ve read some bad reviews but we didn’t find the staff rude at all, quite the opposite. 
If you are looking for somewhere to eat, have a few drinks and sleep after a good walk up snowdon (would recommend doing it in the day). For £25 a night, it’s fine.

Camping in Llanberis and there’s not much in the way of pub choices, this pub looked ok and offered real ales and rustic charm. So we stopped by for an evening pint before dinner, the glasses were dirty and the ale was bad (like the pipes hadn’t been cleaned in a while). The food looked good so we wrote it off as a bad experience and decided to go back for breakfast. 

I ordered a sausage sandwich (£5) then paid £1 extra for bacon and 80p extra for egg. I was frankly disgusted at what turned up. 2 unbuttered slices of medium slice white bread, 1 sausage cut in half, 1 slice of bacon and a fried egg. So for £5 you get 2 pieces of bread and 1 sausage that doesn’t even cover half of the bread. It was a rip off!!! The pot of tea was luke warm, like it had been made out the hot tap.

It’s a bit grubby inside and even at 9am the toilets were dirty.

Rustic = don’t expect much

Friendly staff and nice bar. However the bunkhouse rooms were very dirty. The carpets can’t have been hoovered in a long time as they were filthy, the toilet had faeces stains on it and the bathroom floor was dirty. There was rubbish in the bin in the bathroom from the previous occupants. This was the only bin available for used sanitary products so it should be emptied daily.

The mattresses were old and I could feel the metal springs through them making for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. I understand that this is bunkhouse accommodation and not a hotel but I would still expect a clean room. The local YHAs manage to achieve clean basic accommodation with comfortable mattresses for a similar price.

Friendly staff but dirty accommodation.

Hostel was grubby. Shower was covered in mould putting out Luke warm water. Beds were super thin and the bed cover looked like they had never been washed. During my stay, sleep wasn’t something i could get a lot of, it was really loud which kept me up all night. On the plus the food and drinks are quite good

Nothing to rave about

I don't normally write reviews , especially if they are bad but the bunkhouse couldn't simply just refund me the £35 for the night I didn't stay so alas here we are...

AVOID - IT IS A HEALTH HAZARD!

In the bathroom, the urine under the toilet seat had been there so long that it had turned to black mould. 

The shower hadn't been cleaned for so long that there were large fungus growths all over it. 

I don't know how long piss takes to turn to mould , our how long a mushroom farm takes to cultivate but I'm guessing it's a long , long time ! Disgusting! 

To make things worse, on the Saturday, they had obnoxiously loud dance music playing in the beer garden (I'm normally a fan but this was beige house stuff) with a bunch of drunken, over excited 18 year olds.

If after reading this and looking at the pictures you still decide to book. You can rest assured that if you do have a problem, the staff will do their best not to help.

HEALTH HAZARD - AVOID!

Over-priced. They call themselves a bunk house to get away with not providing anything such as bedding, hand soap in the bathroom, curtains in the bedroom or working wifi, yet they charge more than a good quality hostel. The mattress was so old I could feel all the springs sticking in my back all night. The room was dirty. I wouldn't have minded so much if it was cheap. YHA is like a palace in comparison and cheaper!
