Beddgelert is a great place to stay, for walking and relaxing.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, dog friendly hotel. 
Exceptionally clean and excellent breakfast.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great hotel, great staff

The hotel is cradled within the stunning beauty of Beddgelert, but is easy enough to be found by GPS/Google or Apple Map. Parking is rather limited, so try to arrive as soon as possible. Internet and cellular connectivity is limited, so this makes it a perfect spot to disconnect and fully relax, away from the hurly-burly of the world. 

It’s rather old-styled so please do not expect the latest luxuries. Be prepared to lug your luggages around, or dare use the lift, but be warned — it’s dark in there and requires a learning curve to operate.

Our beds are quite comfortable (yes, we did have a twin room, it’s highly recommended especially when having a holiday during a heatwave!), and enough power outlets. But be sure to download your favourite books or shows on your device, as there’s no internet connection whatsoever!

Dining in its in-house restaurant is a delight, albeit with limited options. Both of our entrées were quite delicious, we did enjoy them. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

We would definitely come back to the Royal Goat Hotel!

Perfect place to de-stress and relax.

The hotel staff were welcoming, and our room was comfortable and spacious. The room had a kettle with tea/coffee/hot choc and the bathroom had a good supply of toiletries. Bed and pillows were comfortable.
All of the staff were welcoming. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel both days, and can't fault the food. I am coeliac and was happy surprised at how well they were able to cater for my dietary requirements, even fish and chips were gf, and bread was available if I requested it. A good selection of cold food at breakfast, the first morning we didn't realise there was a cooked breakfast menu to come a little later so made sure to save room for a cooked breakfast the following morning. 
Easy to walk around the village from the hotel. There is a car park for the hotel, and bus stop across the road.
Perfect place to stay for doing the Watkin Path on Snowdon. 

Comfortable stay and good food for Snowdon Watkin Path

Room was dated but really comfy bed, it was clean and shower/bath was good. Breakfast was lovely but you do have to ask the staff for a menu for the hot food they don’t offer one. Juice and continental breakfast also nice whilst you wait for food. We had no issues with parking.

A nice weekend stay

Arrived tired on a very wet day in September. The welcome could not even been warmer. Room ok, food excellent, breakfast outstanding.  Easy access to the rest of Beddgelert facilities, Snowden, Hebog and Cnicht on the doorstep. Superb base for exploring the wider north wales. Anglesey 45mins. Will return and would recommend.

September 22 weekend trip

Excellent value for money, good Wi-Fi, excellent breakfast, comfortable room, free parking, a little tired inside, but added to its character, would stay again. Friendly staff, good evening meal choice. It’s in a good location for  walking, very central.

Long weekend away, good value

Lovely hotel. Great location. 
Yes the hotel is short staffed but the staff that are there are non stop. 
Slight mix up on arrival but quickly sorted. 
Room was great, breakfast and evening meal was good. 
People with negative reviews need to remember that places are still recovering from
covid. 
Would stay there again.

Great Hotel.

Very old hotel with lots of character so expect a little bit of wear around the edges. 
Staff lovely, socially distanced protocol throughout the hotel and lovely restaurant.

Perfectly situated and clean

We had a lovely 3 night stay at this hotel.
Some say tired I think quirky,!! yes  it does need a bit of TLC but the rooms were clean and the beds comfy. This hotel allowed dogs and I have to say that if you hadn't see the odd dog you wouldn't have known .
Yes, you did need to wait a while for food but when it arrived it was worth the wait !!  What's the rush you are on holiday !!
The hotel is being run by a fantastic group of young people who are doing their very best in difficult circumstances. They work amazingly well as a team and Max was an absolute delight who works harder than most I know at his age, always with a smile on his face and free for a chat.
The location is stunning with fantastic walks on the doorstep. 
Being such a busy location all the pubs were fully booked  every night for food due to staff shortages.
We wished we could have stayed longer and we will be back.

Polite, friendly staff lovely location

Such a shame that all the investment from ‘David and Valerie’ seems to have gone to the sister hotel - The Saracen’s Head. Sadly this seems to be the ‘poor brother’. It is clearly being run on a skeleton staff who are obviously doing their best in a hopeless situation. We only ever saw one member of staff at a time having to deal with check in / breakfast / dinner and as a result the standard of service was inadequate. The hotel needs a huge injection of love, attention and money to bring it up to standard and in line with the excellent Saracen’s Head. Positives? The staff that we did see were doing a very good job in difficult circumstances. The breakfast was ok. The room was clean and comfortable (although the bed was too soft). Housekeeping appeared to be good as the room was turned over while we were out. Dogs were welcome. The location is fabulous. Negatives? Service was dreadful, but due to lack of staff. The building was badly in need of maintenance. It smelt musty in communal areas. The lift light doesn’t work. The furnishings / fittings / decorations is very dated. Water pressure was poor resulting in a trickle (albeit hot) for a shower. 
David and Valerie - don’t neglect this beautiful hotel. We spent a lovely afternoon / evening at The Saracen’s Head. This hotel is fabulous, the service was outstanding, the decor / facilities are excellent, the food was amazing. It shows what you can do with the right investment. Please don’t neglect The Royal Goat any longer.
