A gem!  Small inn on the shore of a loch.  The view constantly changes with the tide.  Very walkable area, although there is not a lot to do.  Close to Carrick Castle and Moses Well.  The single track road to get there was a surprise, but by third day we were traveling it almost like the locals.  The best host and hostess ever!

Perfect to really relax and unwind.

I stayed here recently with my wife . I can’t praise Billy and Liz highly enough for their unbelievable hospitality. The property is spotless throughout and has an amazing view over the lake especially from the dining room . Billy’s fish and chips are to die for as is the freshly cooked breakfast each morning. I can’t wait to stay at The Shore House again.

An absolute gem . Better than any 5 star hotel I’ve stayed in.

An absolutely beautiful property , spotlessly clean, amazing breakfast plus very approachable and down to earth hosts . Great location for fishing and the Goil Inn is a 2 min walk , Billy is an amazing  cook , my husband doesn’t like fish so Billy went out of his way to make him a curry instead , not many hosts would do that , plus Watson the dog …just so well behaved   We will definitely be back .

Anniversary Treat

It is located right on the banks of the lake. It has the best view of the Loch. It is managed by friendly couple who make the stay amazing. It is a must stay place. Lochgoilhead  is less touristy place, it is therapeutic and relaxing. Our Room was large enough and lake facing. They had provided basic toiletry , selection of coffee, tea and biscuits and shortbreads. They have their own bar too at ground level . Breakfast was freshly made to each person. it was tasty and filling.
   Loved our long walks along the lake. It can be reached by public transport from Glasgow or Edinburgh via Helensburgh. Journey is scenic too.

A wonderful couple of days at the Shore House. Liz and Billy were fabulous hosts, a wonderful place to stay. Our room was  extremely clean, comfortable and spacious with a beautiful view of the loch. Can highly recommend this lovely guesthouse for a peaceful break, it's quite special.

We recently stayed here as we were going to a family wedding, as I am in the hospitality industry and know it can be hard to please everyone this was breath taking the room was spotless and everything was spot on. But the thing that sold it for me above the stunning room and amazing views. This would be the 5* rating that this accommodation deserves the hosts Billy and Liz were second to none and nothing was to much. Even down to assisting me with a wee bit of dress altering for the big day. They are friendly and so welcoming and even their little pup Watson was a little diamond.  Truly thank you for an amazing stay, it’s one I will treasure it reminds me why I fell in love with Argyll all those years ago.  I wish you many years of wonderful guests x

Stunning accommodation with a 5* rating, spectacular hosts !

I’ve traveled a fair bit and stayed at all types of hotels; the Shore House is one of those gems which makes you want to go back again. Fabulous location right on the shore of Lochgoilhead which itself is great because it is far from the crowds of Loch Lomond. Billy & Liz, the hosts are just marvelous people; welcoming, warm and great to have a chat with. The house has all kinds of fun stuff like a ping pong table, a darts board, kayaks, a gin garden on the front lawn. We were just so happy during our short stay. Our rooms were well appointed with views of the lake. So much attention to detail. We are already planning our next visit

Wow! One of the best b&bs i have ever stayed at

We stayed at The Shore House for 2 nights to attend a family wedding nearby.
The location of the guest house is picturesque with a view you could never tire of looking out onto. It really is breathtaking. 
The Shore House facilities are excellent and you can tell that a lot of thought and consideration for guests comfort and convenience has been made by the hosts.
Speaking of the hosts, Billy and Liz, what lovely people!  Their approach to their guests is wonderful.
I would like to add a thank you to them for their wonderful hospitality.
The full Scottish breakfast is possibly the best cooked breakfast I have ever had and that alone makes a trip to The Shore House highly recommended. 
I sincerely hope that we make a return trip one day.

Perfect weekend break

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful four night break staying at the Shore House guesthouse in Lochgoilhead - our first visit to both. The location of the village is superb and is relatively remote, but easily accessible. The Shore House is only a two minute walk from the centre and is right on the waterfront at the head of the loch, but well away from any passing traffic. It’s a lovely property owned and run by the highly likeable Liz and Billy and the standards set are very high. They are very friendly and helpful and are genuinely interested in their guests. Also, everywhere is meticulously clean, which is so important in current times, and our loch facing room (no1) was excellent. Breakfasts were cooked to order each morning and were also of a very high standard. In summary, one of those places you visit and very much hope to return to due to its sheer quality and friendliness. Many thanks, Liz and Billy.

An excellent visit to Lochgoilhead and the Shore House

We stayed here as part of a Scottish road trip where everywhere we booked was chosen because of the views.  I won't go on about the view from the house up the Loch as so many others have extolled its virtue.  They were right.  Simply stunning.  I will say that the view from the loo is probably the best we have experienced.  Our room was spacious and comfortable and included some unexpected and welcome additions such as a Nespresso machine and an Alexa speaker.  This was the first time we have stayed in a guesthouse and we weren't certain sure what to expect BUT we loved it.  The welcome was friendly and genuine.  Billy and Liz seemed genuinely interested in their guests and the customer service before and during our stay was excellent.  We had the opportunity to eat dinner there one night which we thoroughly enjoyed.  We had roast duck breast and vegetables, perfectly cooked.  Breakfast was of a similar standard.  Great coffee - so important to me. It was a bit like staying in someone's house, there is no menu, they just ask what you would like.  New to me but I liked it.  I liked all of it and would go back in a heartbeat and recommend you do too.
