Booked a weekend break Friday to Monday most of the park and the extra choices of things to do was fine but could not understand that the pool was only open Saturday am/pm and Sunday am then would be closed till during the week starting Tuesday which was pretty poor and felt bad for my grandson to have to tell him he couldn't go for a swim and if we new that we wouldn't of bothered booking all the other extras a made time for fun swim time .

Not much time for family swimming on your breaks

Started with us arriving 4 hours early and was greeted by a very smilie, helpful and understanding receptionist kerri. My wife needed to breastfeed so we explained can we get a site pass, find somewhere warm to have lunch and feed the baby. She understood and was quick to aid us. Our caravan wasn't ready yet obviously which we understood.  She said she would call us if it became available. She did end up doing this about 1 hour earlier than expected which for our situation was handy as 2 kids and a dog that needed unpacking. Dogs can go everywhere except anywhere INSIDE obviously.  We went to have a very average lunch which would continue the rest of the week. Its like a wetherspoons quality trying to be as good as a harvester but failing. It's a one page menu for adults and a 1/4 page menu with what u expect on it. Not that cheap either. The problem is I think atleast once if not twice a day they just wouldn't have something you wanted to eat and drink, day 1, no white sauvingnon,  day 2, no cider,  day 3 something else and so on. The last day was the final straw,  my wife ordered a mixed grill which is about 25 quid, when it got served 4 things were missing off it and the waitress, not the bar staff said ' we haven't got it all' if that's the case, why let me lay for it. The communication seems very poor in these places. There always seems about 6 people doing nothing very busily and one poor sod serving people even slower. Trying to get served from breakfast to lunch to dinner to evening entertainment takes an absoloute age, especially getting an alcoholic drink. Definitely use the app on site as it does shave half the time of actually getting something but be well prepared for some aspect of disappointment. The three take away food trucks/ the chippy on site isn't actually that bad food but if you don't wanna feel like you're living off take aways you don't have much other choices. We didn't want to have a mini break and cook all day and night but eating out/in proved to be a bad idea after £500 + spent in 4 nights/5 days. We are 36 and 34 with a 3 year and 3 month old, we also took our 8 year sausage dog. We was never out out past 8pm for this reason so I can't comment about the late late night side of things. The kids club from 5-7 my 3 year old absolutely loved and the crew/characters theme they have is spot on. One thing I wouldn't recommend is don't turn up to anything a minute early as you will end up in a 100 people pile up queue through an arcade which is just stupid and happens for everything. Day and night, activity pre booked or on mass. Silky system I feel. I can't fault the girls doing the activities for the kids one bit. It's a very small site so when raining it absolutely kills it. Not much to do unless it's another costly indoor activity. I don't think I'd rush back as day 1 we didn't even get any bedding, pillow covers bed sheet and all the pipes had burst under our caravan.  I will admit both problems were sorted within 20 minutes but an awful start. I think we need a site with atkeast twice as much going on and we only went Monday afternoon to Friday morning.  Location is spot on for the beach and the caravan size was absolutely shockingly acceptable and I thought that's what I'd struggle with the most. We certainly aren't snops in anyway but certain standards across the whole site are just poor or disorganised or slow or just constant bumps in the road which you just want on a small staycation. May have been better in peak sunshine but I don't think I could have done a full week with this standard.  I hope this gets read by someone from the park as I feel a reply is a sign of someone who cares and wants to improve. Doubt we'd return but saw plenty of other people seeming to have a good time and were certainly frequent caravan goers. Hope this was useful as it's 100% honest. Small spar on site which is useful.

Honest first timer review

Given an upgrade by Emma. It was beyond expectations. Emma was efficient, polite, considerate and understanding. We had an absolutely amazing relaxing long weekend. All staff on site were helpful and polite. Thank you all so much!! We will be back 👍 Mandy and Lesley.

Fantastic upgrade at Camber Sands

We paid extra to upgrade to a lodge I highly recommend this if you can afford it as the accommodation was fantastic and spotlessly clean. However the outside areas and the outside of the van really need a good jet wash, this is for the majority of the site.

The communal areas are very dirty litter everywhere there was a dirty nappy for 2 days outside the fish and chip shop a staff member must of seen it. 

The que for reception at 4pm is huge I suggest waiting outside at least 30mins early took us a hour before we could get to anyone but I must say the lady’s at reception are very good and must be commended for their customer service we saw on numerous occasions whilst waiting in line the level of abuse they get is not fair at all. 

We have a 10 month old so paid for a travel cot in our room when we opened it, it was covered in mould and mud within 10 mins of reporting it was replaced with a brand new one so again hats off to the team.

We actually came home a day early purely for not enough to do in the area which is real shame, there’s nothing at all in camber no where to walk to like a village or a town and no pubs bar restaurants everything is run down. 

I would agree with some of the other comments on here especially around security they just let anyone in at the front gates and we didn’t feel very safe especially watching parents consuming the amount of alcohol and have kids running around without supervision. 

We did have a nice time but I wouldn’t visit again.

Really needs a good clean up!

Meh.
We arrived a little early, about 20 minutes before check in time. The security team sent us down to the entertainment centre to wait. They were very friendly and helpful, as were the reception team at check in.
On face value the van we had looked clean, however on closer inspection there were a few areas of improvement required. We had a dog friendly van and my 10 month old whilst crawling around got covered in long black dog hairs (not our dogs - he is a Daschund).
The door that covered the fridge was hanging on by one hinge and actually fell off, nearly on top of my 10 month olds head. My husband had to pull it off as it wouldn't go back on at all and was a hazard.
There was grease or fat all over the oven switch.
We were a party of several families, and although this wasn't in our van I have to mention this. One of the families in our party found a ball of tissue, covered in semen, wrapped up in her daughters duvet on her bed. Utterly deplorable and shouldn't have even happened.
The tissue was still "damp" so it can't have been there very long....
They got a refund for their stay but not their passes or their linen, which is a bit of a joke.
The facilities are OK. Considering how busy the park was the entertainment centre was dead most of the time. The security team were very nice and friendly and put up with a lot of rubbish from the delightful clientele that appear to frequent this particular holiday park. It's very chavvy and I didn’t feel particularly safe or comfortable most of the time. The swimming system is very confusing, it says you have to book but when I attempted to it said there were no slots available, yet they allow people to just turn up for swimming so I don't know what that's all about.
There is a fair bit of parking albeit potentially quite far away from where your van may be, however when it was busy there wasn't enough of it.
There weren't enough dog poo bins on site so most of the time we had to put dog poo bags in the normal bins, which obviously isn't right.
The site is tired and untidy and generally needs some investment to make it look more inviting. The entertainment complex is tired looking and unappealing. Mostly everyone in our party had something wrong in their vans, like washers missing from the shower so it sprayed water all over the place, doors missing or fitted badly, holes in doors from where people have clearly punched the doors etc.
Camber itself is depressing, there is absolutely nothing around at all and the big empty shell of Pontins looms over the majority of the town. Rye is lovely and not too far down the road so that made up for it a bit, but not ideal for those who don't want to drive.
I wouldn't come here again. I much prefer Seal Bay in Selsey and would choose to go there over here any day. Parkdean has not inspired me to return to one of their sites at all.

Not Great

Asked to move original caravan too small told £90 upgrade which was willing to pay only to find upgrade was to a filthy caravan with holes in all the doors looked like someone taken a pick axe to it. Weeds and brambles over balcony. The day we left cleaner knocked on door demanding we vacate the premises surely they wasn't using 
the accommodation with pick axe holes in all the doors. Disgusting dirty place would never return. Staff rude and fear for your life they tried to kick 2 disabled women in mid 70,s out of caravan it was frightening. Head cleaner came and said if you don't leave we will call security this was 5 mins past 10. Won't ever return to such a disgusting place

Pick axe accommodation

Didn't realise that despite closing caravan front door properly, the mechanism didn't engage causing door to fly open under the slightest pressure. Only found this out as our one year old wandered over and pressed against the shut door and fell down three steps head first. Contacted the on site team and received no reply, spent approx 8 hours in A&E. 1 month later still yet to receive any outcome to my complaint with Parkdean despite liaising with team onsite and their head office, fobbed off at every corner. Caravan gas oven knobs were also easy to turn on with almost no resistance making it easy for children to play with. Realised once I needed to get something out of the oven that there were no ovengloves in caravan. Male swimming pool toilet was out of use on our visit with the disabled toilet locked with radar key leaving no easily available toilet facility.

Poor service throughout

We had a very upsetting and disappointing experience at Parkdean Camber sands!
We booked last minute to visit Saturday 30th September 2023 - Tuesday 3rd October 2023, we came because on the Monday it was our daughters 3rd birthday, our children we so excited when we arrived at 4pm Saturday on our suprise holiday, we stayed in Cedar Lodge bungalows, it was filthy, the cupboards had food and grime in them, we had to request new cups as every single one was filthy and stained and the entire room smelt of curry from a previous guest who had left rice all over the floor and there was dirt dust and hairs all over the bed and bedside cabinets. We have a family of 5 and there was 1 spoon and 2 forks in our room! Not that we cooked in there as it was too gross, instead we had to spend a fortune eating out everywhere.  
We enjoyed the evening entertainment with our children Saturday night and then Sunday we attempted to swim in the morning there was a 30 min wait which out baby was kicking off so we left and decided to return later, when we returned we we’re told the pool was now closed from 12:45 Sunday -Tuesday (so the duration of our trip) it was closed for our  holiday! Our girls were very very upset that they wouldn’t get to swim, then Monday our daughter was so excited as it was her birthday, we ventured out to find everything was closed! They told us it was change over day, there was no entertainment programme, no swimming, not even the chargeable activities were open! We had to leave early so we could go home and take our daughter out for her birthday, it was so disappointing l, the reception team weren’t very helpful we were told that the entertainment manager would open the golf, carts and trampolines on Monday and we would get to use them complimentary because of the hassle we had, when we spoke to him he said we would have to pay, he was fairly rude and fobbed my husband off. We also spent £18 for ‘messy play’ which was just painting on the floor for half an hour and the paint has stained all of our clothes! FUMING! Still awaiting a response from the complaints team regarding our refund/compensation! 
My advice is don’t waste your money it’s overpriced, dirty and everything there you have to pay extra for, book Butlin’s or haven instead!!! They should not take bookings for alternative days if they are only catering the entertainment and activities for Friday-Monday or Monday-Friday breaks

Disappointing Rip Off 

Staff in arcade are extremely rude girl with long dark hair and a man with long hair and beard were rude because one of their machines was broken, we asked them why and they said 'you shouldn't have come here then'

Lovely stay at parkdean resorts, Emma was very welcoming and helped us with our issue regarding swimming very quickly. Lovely lady! Great stay at camber highly recommend, thunderbirds is the best place to eat
