Centrico hostel at a very affordable price for the dates I travel (final of the champions league) the staff was very attentive and the rooms were comfortable.

Centrico is the centerpiece.

I had a great time at the Safehouse hostel and met some very interesting people. The staff was very helpful, I even ended up staying for an extra night as I enjoyed it so much. It's a great location, close to the city centre, right by Cardiff Castle, shops are there too and there's a bus stop by the door.

Great value for money - even a guided tour is available!

I wasnt here for long (!)....all but a few hours having spent the day travelling from Arran, and arriving late at night, to have to leave to get to the airport by 4am!  But...what an amazing place.  I was so looking forward to my stay on the way back, which would have been more leisurely and longer than 3 hours (!), but in the end did not need to stay and sorry that I couldnt contact the hostel to let them know.  The building has a very interesting vibe, with a colourful kitchen area where free breakfast is served downstairs, and huge huge dorms....with a fire place (!)...albeit containing an electric fire.  Facilities were very good, and I used heaters to dry a massive electric piano which I was to take on a plane to Africa the next day .....and it worked :) 

It was quite when I stayed, but I have yet to come across a more spatious dorm anywhere!  Had a great vibe as I said, and very central to town.  I hope to be back :)

Probably the best hostel i've stayed in UK...

Firstly the location was great, we parked for free of Cathedral Road and walked 10 mins to the hostel which was so close to the Boxing we was attending at the Principality Stadium. And close to nearby bars and restaurants. 

We Really enjoyed our stay in the 6 bed Luxury room based on the first floor. The room was roomy as stated online and it was great to have the sofa in there instead of having to lay on our beds when in the room. Beds really comfortable and shared bathroom was great as the showers were always free and always warm with enough power. My only quibble was that it was a little cold in the room although I think I was furthest away from the heaters!

The staff were great and let us check out a little earlier than normal, they also let us keep our bags there as we arrived before check in and when we went for something to eat before heading home after we checked out.

Would definitely recommend to others when staying in Cardiff.

Great Trip in a Great Hostel

It's a lovely little hostel, just a short walk from the main stadium, Cardiff city centre and pubs/restaurants. It's perfect for a few days of city tour and party. It's clean, very friendly and welcoming staff. The rooms are secure and the common rooms are spacious.

All right, all right.

I recommend this hostel right in the centre of Cardiff opposite the stadium, good bed and breakfast, everything was perfect, 24-hour accommodation, shared bathroom, earplugs in case.

Stay in Wales

Myself and two other friends stayed at the safehouse hostel for one Saturday night, after returning home to London five days later we all break out with bed bug bites! Mine being the most severe I have to go to the doctors for advice on what to do. 

Obviously extremely dissatisfied from receiving bed bugs from this hostel I emailed them, explaining what had happened with photo proof of the bites, for them to email back and make up every excuse to avoid taking responsibility. 

I shouldn’t be surprised as when I looked up reviews and after seeing another negative review the owner/whoever is in charge of social media replied back to the negative comment in an extremely unprofessional and nasty manner. 

Not only does this place have bed bugs there’s no WiFi, no food or drinks in your room and the beds are far from comfortable. 

I highly recommend avoiding this hostel at all costs.

WORST HOSTEL!!!!

This hostel meets my main two requirements for an ideal place to stay -- location and cleanliness. Its location is perfect: one block from Cardiff Castle and great shops, restaurants and arcades are within 2-3 blocks. It is also equidistant from the Kingsway bus stop (Megabus) and Cardiff Central rail station. 
My room and the water closet on that floor were spotless, as were the lobby and common rooms. The linens were not faded or frayed and looked almost new. The kitchen was as clean as a shared kitchen could be.
My four-room female dorm had a charger for each bed but was missing a small light over each so bring a flashlight/headlamp if you don't want to disturb others with late night reading. And unfortunately Wifi is only reliable on the ground floor. 
Helen and Corinna behind the desk were helpful and cheerful (how could you not be with a great job in a great hostel in a wonderful city). Breakfast was your choice of porridge with toppings, cereal, toast, tea and coffee in a quaint common room that was not dark or under-lit to hide the lack of cleaning like some hostels I've stayed in.

Location and Cleanliness!

It's a nice staircase to go back and forth, a warm welcome and a quiet climate, an ideal location in Cardiff city centre, a well-equipped kitchen for cooking.

Warm welcome and excellent location in the heart of the city

Well-mannered staff, excellent location in the centre, close to everything, a pity for the surface cleanliness, the soft mattresses and the rudimentary single-dose cereal breakfast, not very environmentally friendly... but it's still ultra convenient to stay next to the best beer bars and attractions!
