There was more than the one issue that made our stay an awful experience…
The place was contacted and didn’t care anymore than they did during the stay and so was booking.com (who it was booked through and they were useless with a lot of false advertising!!) these didn’t do anything to try and resolve so took it to others that say they can deal with these things so just so as you guys know what your in for if you decide to stay at this ran down nasty place here’s a few issues from our stay…

• Doors was all broken away with loose splinters 
• Cracks & rust in more than one area
• No head board just a silly painted fake one across the wall at the top of the bed
• Pull string above bed was missing
• Squeaky floor boards
• Loose thin windows that would rattle in the wind they weren’t easy to keep closed as handle was loose and kept opening
• No plug in sink
• Bed was like a water bed
• Shower had to run for about half an hour to become warm
• Toilet would NOT flush over our stay & despite the staff being told a number of times they done absolutely NOTHING about it they didn’t even care we were having to fill up the bin with water & having to throw it down the toilet! How vile to make you guest go through all this!!!

Awful place with awful service! Avoid and go somewhere that doesn’t treat you like prisoners!!!

Stayed for one night with mates back in November 2019. We wanted somewhere cheap to stay after the rugby so booked this place. Location wise, it's not too far to walk into town or obviously you could get a taxi.

Check-in was swift and the staff were polite and helpful. The rooms weren't bad - the bed was okay and everything was clean. The bathroom was functional - the shower worked and there was enough hot water. No toiletries provided, so make sure you take your own soap for the bathroom. 

I didn't make breakfast but one of the other lads did and said it was good. Overall, for a cheap place to crash, it was okay.

Pre-Covid rugby stay

Absolutely fantastic stay! Staff amazing!! Lilly and her cleaning team were super will definitely be staying again!! So close to the town centre literally a 5/10 minutes away walking,comfort is there clean and tidy very helpful and nice place to stay 

Fantastic 

I think I stayed in a Queen Deluxe room. The room itself looks okay. I didn't quite like the bathroom though. No hand held shower head. The flooring is a bit weird, kind of.

The matress was no good (thin and hard) and they are seperate, so it's a glip in the middle of the bed and it was squeaking a lot. The rooms are definitively not sound proof. Also, they wanted me to hand in the key while not in my room? I guess to prevent people from losing keys, but still weird. 

It is unbelieveably cold and drafty, especially in the bathroom. It was almost painful using the toilet because of the cold, so getting out of the shower was a nightmare. 
The room is equipped with an oven you can plug in yourself, so that is ok.

We stayed at this hotel on  Friday 29th November 
Rooms very clean and basic . 
But I have to say the staff Nathan (our little star ) and Di aka (Trev ) 😂 were very helpful and just genuine nice people . We would defiantly like to come back again 
Town centre is just a wall away.

It is what it is, a budget, basic stay. Old fashioned, could do with a spruce up, but was clean.  No bar , which was a dissappointment, due to change of name according to staff.

Room was a tiny single room, done fine for a night, not much hot water for shower tho.

As I said, fine for a quick stop to get your head down, bed was comfy. 

Quick overnight, before early train

Stayed here a week or so ago for a couple of nights as I was down to see The Lancashire Hotpots at The Globe. 

On arrival at the hotel I was greeted by a very friendly lady who explained how the hotel worked. It was great to met by someone so nice as I was soaking wet and late as my train from Tyneside had been cancelled.

Room itself was very cosy, plenty of storage, en suite bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities. 

There was a TV in the room but I found that I lost quite a few channels once it started getting dark. 

Hotel is handily located a few minutes walk from the city centre and the Millennium Stadium. 

Overall a short, enjoyable stay. Would happily return.

Nice Stay In Cardiff

Initially had difficulty receiving hotel confirmation of our booking via email. I spoke to hotel staff who were helpful about this issue and head office sorted it out. Pleasantly surprised with the room, was clean and comfortable for the price 

A pleasant stay 

The room was basic, but we were only there for a night and were in and out within minutes. just what we needed. The bar was quiet and a bit expensive so did not imbibe. About a 10-minute walk to the Pricipality stadium and the city center. Street parking only.

Single night stay.

I don’t usually stay outside of Cardiff city centre, but this trip I was rather late booking a room and this hotel was one of the cheapest available, so decided to give it a go! When I received my booking confirmation a few days before arriving, the name displayed was OYO CARDIFF CENTRAL, but I had booked for the Wynford Hotel, so I did some digging and found they had changed name - simple enough, but maybe a confirmation to guests from the hotel would have been nice. Everything was fine with the booking, so it was a-ok. 
Got to the hotel, and the chap at the desk was very welcoming. After signing confirmation papers, I asked about breakfast (I was staying room only) and that was £5 extra per person per day. Which is reasonable, but if you want to pay on the day there’s no guarantee the breakfast will still be out between the times of 8-10am. I was told that if it’s quiet, the breakfast isn’t kept out for it would be cold, so I’m guessing breakfast isn’t an option when it’s quiet!!
The rooms were up a small staircase. They were old fashioned doors to the rooms, with actual keys to open. That was one thing I didn’t particularly like about the room, but didn’t bother me too much. You have to keep your key at the front desk when you aren’t in the hotel - which makes me rather uneasy but I went along with it anyway. Walked into the room, it was a nice little room. Pretty basic but for just over £100 for 2 nights, not something I was willing to complain about!
The bathroom was nice, small but clean. Nice little corner sink. The shower was ok, the water pressure wasn’t great and it was very hard to get it on as the ‘on switch’ I guess you’d call it, was more of a cog with a smaller cog inside to change temperature. For the case of my shower, the temperature; you couldn’t get it right. It was either scolding or freezing. So a mix of both boiling water then freezing to cool me down was how I washed!!
The bed was very comfortable. I would rate the bed as a 10, but I didn’t venture under the duvet. I’ve, as a burden to myself, accustomed myself to doing the ‘four in a bed’ sweep where I check everything for dust, hairs and so on. I opened the nightstand drawer, to find an insane amount of dust and hair (didn’t keep it open long enough to find out what hair - I also didn’t want to know) so as a precaution I stayed atop the bed. It was a pretty warm room, so this didn’t bother me. 
If you’re looking for a quiet night, this probably isn’t the place for you. Wafer thin walls mean you can hear everyone traipsing back in between the hours of 2-3am, and then hear people leave and complain about the early birds at 8am - which was very ironic. 
Location wise, wasn’t far from everywhere to be honest. A stone’s throw away from the Principality and Swalec stadiums, and close to the Cardiff City Stadium. Ideal location to watch a match. 
Pretty rough looking area, but there were no issues. Plenty of kebab options for a saturday night!
Would I stay again? If there was no where else, yes. Wouldn’t be my first choice though. Overall though an ok place and bargain for Cardiff. You get what you pay for and that’s ok. Staff were all very lovely though I have to say.
