One of our favourite places to visit ,there is something for everyone ,eating places all in main drag ,cinema ,restaurants pubs etc.lots of interesting places to visit in surrounding areas .good museum in town with good restaurant attached 

Weekend away with friends 

The guy Jonathan looked very like Orlando bloom, the actor!! really handsome. I had a great time there. I loved my stay. the pace was really beautiful. lovely room, lovely hosts. lovely dinning area. Highly recommend

Great spot

My bag had travelled ahead of me to Carlisle via Hadrian’s Haul, and rather than leave it in the lobby like the YHA, the George and Hunter had done, the proprietor had put it securely in the room I would be staying in. Just as well, as it was up 2 flights of stairs! 
Jonathan was very welcoming, and gave me his mobile number in case of emergencies. The hostel had everything I needed, and is in an excellent location.
The hostel was smaller than I expected (more like a large town house with a few rooms on each floor) but no worse for that.

Small, friendly and secure hostel

Great hostel ...Jonathan (the host) was so welcoming. Sorted secure storage for my bike (I was riding an end to end route) lots of advice....great facilities and nice people. Price was good. Beds were comfy. Shower was hot....don't hesitate just stay there!

Great hostel right next to city centre

Had a great stay at the Carlisle City Hostel - we booked the family room with a shower which was spacious and very clean. The hostel is a stone’s throw away from Carlisle Cathedral and the host Jono was very welcoming. Highly recommend.

Very welcoming!

The hostel is clean and has all the facilities you’d expect. It’s easy to find and the location is good. 
We stopped there as a family of 4 as we were attending a wedding  nearby. 
On arrival I was met with a warm welcome and a full run down on the hostel. All fairly normal so far…

When we returned home we discovered we’d left my youngest sons teddy at the hostel. A quick email exchange and 2 days later we had the missing rabbit back home!
Any parent will know the pain created by the missing teddy at bedtime so to have such a helpful and prompt service was Amazing! It was even addressed to my son, and who doesn’t like getting packages through the post!

Great hostel. Amazing service!

Located with Georgian townhouse, this family run hostel is both the epitome of minimalism and yet full of worth and Northern hospitality. The decor is clean, and sympathetic to the buildings character while still being playful. The bedroom proportions are surprisingly generous for a building of this size, with a kitchen, chill out room and breakfast room all located within the signal property. There are sizeable shower-rooms and the door is unlocked by keypad. But while location is key, situated within the old town, and cleanliness is a selling point, it’s the staff that make this place a true gem! Hard working, reliable and very helpful this above all is the reason I will stay here again. 

Hostel for Home

The hostel is clean and comfortable, with a self-catering kitchen and sitting room with sofas. The dorms are mixed, so it is best to book a private room if you don't want to share with people of the opposite sex. The beds were good and so was the shower. The owner is very friendly and provides cereals, toast and spreads for breakfast at no extra charge. There is plenty of tea, coffee and milk available. The hostel is right in the middle of Carlisle, close to the cathedral, castle and Tullie Museum. We were walking Hadrian's Wall, and it was just off the path by the river so no great detour was needed.

A good value place to stay right by the cathedral

Basic bunkbed rooms. Showers clean, plenty of room in the bathrooms and hot water. The host Jono was friendly and helpful and makes everyone feel like they are his best mate. He is not onsite all the time and the security?contact measures he has in place because of this are excellent. Self serve basic breakfast.

Cheap and Cheerful

Stayed for a night with kids. Great host and had everything we needed. We used the kitchen for dinner and breakfast. Clean and plenty of cutlery and cooking utensils. 
Would definitely recommend. We stayed in the family room with bunk beds which was perfect for us and our two girls aged 7 and 9.
