My wife and I arrived at Carlisle Truckstop at 1am on Thursday 25th May following a late night ferry arrival and after staff at our booked hotel had forgotten our reservation, locked the doors and gone to bed. 
The staff at Truckstop were so kind and welcoming. The room was perfect and breakfast excellent. 
Very pleased with the service we headed off to start our holiday only to discover several hours later that we had forgotten our computer and phone chargers. An embarrassing phone call to Carlisle Truckstop and the wonderful staff parcelled and posted the chargers onwards to our holiday address. 
A first class service from the Carlisle team. You're stars.     

Excellent service

This place has gone downhill, my husband used to use it regularly before it changed hands , now it is a glorified staff canteen. We had been to Inverness to collect a vintage car and call ed there on the way back went in the lorry park then went for tea and toast, when we tried to exit we couldn't because the barrier would not open little did we know we should have got a ticket from machine on entry couldn't see it as it was high up for lorries and nothing to tell you what to do, went to the shop and an ignorant little man was extremely rude and came out shouting at him he eventually gave him a ticket to put in another machine at the exit you had to climb a ladder to get to it my husband has osteoarthritis and was having a job to do this when another worker came and opened the barrier for us. We will never go there again.

Used to be the best not anymore

Stayed here last night exellent food,clean, friendly staff however was woken up several times in the night with stobart trucks dropping and stopping trailers wright I front of my truck not a very good night's sleep. They have there own yard can they not do this in there yard so people can sleep.

Nice place how ever slight problem

It is what it says, but ideal for a stopover, convenient for through travellers. Two minutes off the Motorway. The room was adequate, clean and tidy. Toiletries and soft, fluffy towels provided.  Tea and coffee facilities with biscuits.  What more could you ask for the price? Would use it again.

A convenient stopover

We stayed one night on a trip back from Scotland. It’s basic and could do with some TLC,  but its very clean and the staff were lovely. It’s fairly difficult to find so make sure you go to parkhouse road itself. Towels and toiletries are provided and there’s a kettle with tea and coffee. You can order breakfast on the app and it’s great value, but go down as soon as you order as they are very quick. I liked that we could open the window to get some air in (as like all hotels it’s far too hot), on the negative side the mattress wasn’t very comfy and they could do with replacing them. There’s a little strip around the back where you can take a dog to and some big bins nearby for dog bags.

Clean, cheap and dog friendly

Quality of food is atrocious. Breaded plaice was a solid brick of breadcrumbs with a thin sliver of fish. The counter staff are very friendly and helpful but the person responsible for cooking the food needs to rethink the career path. Avoid eating here if you value your health.

Go elsewhere.

absolutely shocking. The standard of food is abysmal. My food got thrown in the bin after a lengthy wait, and cost be the best part of £10. Save yourself the disappointment and eat somewhere else. My lasagne would of been fit for building a house with it was like concrete.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGE 

It is now used like a warehouse so there are forklift trucks running all day and night if you wish to sleep find some where else there atitude is we are haulage first acomadation second and if you ask for a refund you are asked to go away

Stay away

You don't have to be a trucker to stay at a Stobart Truckstop! Who knew? Let me say up front that I have not actually stayed at the Stobart truckstop at Parkhouse Road, Kingstown Trading Estate, Carlisle. However, I intended to, but I had to change my plans, but not before I checked the place out before I 'checked in' as it were!

I had no idea, or that it was even a thing, that I, as a mere mortal, not a trucker, could even stay at one of these places, or that if I did, it would be such good value. Now, it's not the Ritz; and you may have to share a bathroom, but if you are willing to pay just a small amount extra, even that is easily fixed and you privacey is guaranteed. 

Stobart Truckstops are so easy on the wallet, one can afford to stay more that a few days and maybe a couple of weeks, and two can literally live as cheaply as one. A downside for families is that they DO NOT ACCEPT CHILDREN! You may find they'll cater for 13 upwards, but you'd have to ask.  However, a couple could have a really good holiday, using it as a base ideally placed for Scotland and the Lake District. As you were paying for 2 weeks anyway, what's to stop you, travelling to Inverness or Aberdeen, and staying in a B&B for the night, coming back the next day? 

They let me have the keys to a couple of rooms for 10 minutes to check them out for myself. You won't get that at the Ritz! To get the best prices you need to book well in advance, but you can cancel for free up to 2 weeks before and pay nothing! 

You Don't Have To Be a Trucker To Stay at a Stobart Truckstop#

Great value , clean flexible check in no hidden charge , dogs allowed free easy to find off m6 , plenty of parking . Friendly staff at check in , even though cheap no compromise on cleanliness .didn't try food so can't review.
