This was our 2nd visit to the Dalston Hall and it didn’t disappoint. Our room (room 3) was immaculate and had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty to choose from.  Lovely staff and a gorgeous venue. We will definitely return for visit number 3. Thank you to all of the staff and the resident ghost for our good night’s sleep.

A Gorgeous Place to Stay

What a great place to stay best place we have ever stayed. Room was large with period features. The hall has period features through out beautiful grounds . Staff friendly nothing to much trouble.  Breakfast was quality evening meal on another level can't wait to come back

Out of this world 

My daughter got married here and I have to say we couldn't fault it from start to finish. Everything went without a glitch, the day was perfect. The place and grounds are stunning. The food was lovely. Thank you to everyone at Dalston Hall for making my daughters wedding so magical. Nothing was any trouble. 

Truly spectacular place 

Just returned from a weekend break at Dalston hall hotel. 
Room was amazing with the view overlooking the grounds. The room was huge it had a king sized bed a chaise long , an open fireplace and you still had so much room you could party lol. The bathroom was huge as well with a bath Which was so deep you could just laze in it and a huge shower cubicle, there was also a double sink.
Food was exceptional, included in our stay was breakfast- the choices were unbelievable. I had eggs Benedict which was absolutely delicious on the first day and a full English the next. Dinner you were spoilt for choice I had prawn cocktail the first night and fish and chips (this was more like whale and chips) my husband had the creamy garlic mushrooms, followed by vegetable wellington. The 2nd night I had pate followed by beef burger and my husband had game terrine followed by chicken stuffed with chorizo wrapped in Parma ham. The deserts sounded fantastic but only managed to try the cheese board one night as we were too full. We missed the afternoon tea on the Friday due to travelling up so the boxed up an afternoon tea for us to take home. 
The staff were all polite and professional especially Sam who did amazing job to cope with us all staying there and making sure everyone was happy, fed and watered.
All in all this is a fabulous venue and can’t wait to go back again.

Weekend away

Beautiful grade 2 listed building, with lovely large rooms, in keeping with the history.  Got this deal as a present via travelzoo, and it did not disappoint.  Breakfast, Afternoon tea and Dinner were all excellent, and the service, from a small team, was friendly & fantastic.  Couldn't recommend this place enough for a quality short break.

Wonderful midweek break

We visited Carlisle for a wedding at Carlisle Racecourse and booked into Dalston Hall for two nights. The building is stunning and beautifully kept. It’s primarily used as a wedding venue and there’s signs of this everywhere. The building is so lovely I’d be tempted to marry my husband all over again just to be able to hold the ceremony there. 

There’s a copy of the Ghost Stalkers II book earmarked with the ghostly activity in Dalston Hall, but we didn’t witness anything. We stayed in the infamous room 13, although we didn’t have any spectral visitors that we know of. 

We must say a big thank you to the night porters, Terry and Ben who looked after us incredibly well. 

Even though we live at the other end of the country (Wiltshire), we would make the journey to stay here again. Highly recommend Dalston Hall, not just for the ghosts and architecture, but also for the staff and great welcome that this place offers.

Great welcome and best customer service, lovely Grade II listed building, beautiful!

We stayed here for 1 night as a stop over and what a beautiful Hotel with stunning grounds. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous bed is very comfortable as are the pillows, plenty tea, coffee hot chocolate etc in the rooms also. Decent choices for breakfast which was served efficiently and was piping hot. Julie who checked us in was very friendly and a lovely lady, she also served us at the bar and had time for a friendly chat and help with local restaurants and amenities. Would definitely stay here again and recommend. Ideal for weddings also.

Stunning hotel and grounds

All staff were extremely helpful friendly and attentive.

The room was clean and comfortable. 
A selection of cooked breakfasts were available. The full English Breakfast was good.  

The grounds and building are beautiful.

Well worth a visit

Booked via Booking.com £126 for a double room and breakfast (Friday night). Arrived and nobody at reception, complete silence. My partner eventually found the receptionist who checked us in and had conversation. We were taken to our room, unfortunately this was not the room advertised by Booking.com. I returned to reception to a now three strong workforce. I explained my disappointment and was told that the room I had assumed I was getting was being used by a bride due to marry the following day. Well ok she is a bride. The receptionist looked very disgruntled that I would prefer the room I had assumed I booked. I asked could I see any other room that may be available. I was shown to room 4, which unfortunately I agreed to have. The bed was like sleeping on lumpy mashed potato, creaked so bad we were afraid to move. Cups provided were for Darby O’Gill and his little people, shower curtain filthy (as per my standards). Breakfast on the other hand was excellent, served with a smile by a happy and accommodating male waiter. The only off put regarding breakfast was the fact the wedding party were also eating in the dining hall. A few of the female party were semi naked in scantily clad Primark pyjamas, displaying all (far from delightful )and rather loud. I spent the previous night at the Ibis budget (Manchester Airport) and could not praise it highly enough £85 well spent, fantastic welcome, fantastic customer service, really good breakfast and what a bed! All in all 4* does not always mean 4*, lacks class, possibly more effort applied for wedding services but definitely not for standard B&B guests. Treat yourself and go to a 2*

DISGUSTED

Great experience staying at this hotel. We stayed in room 1, which was a really good size, big four poster bed, jacuzzi bath. 
Can't say enough good things about the staff; Terry and Ben the night staff, were brilliant, really friendly and knowledgeable and always offered to help us carry stuff up to the room! Jenny, Debbie and Marc were brilliant also, and they couldn't do enough for us. Marc took his time to get to know us and he also entertained our toddler which was appreciated!
