Lovely designed B&B in a beautiful landscaped setting. Comfortably decorated, large rooms. The owner/landlord is very warm and hospitable. We felt very comfortable there.

It's exciting.

Cruachan house was our last stop on our holiday and it really made us not want to go back home. Even though this place is not expensive at all we were not just given a room, but a huge bathroom next to the room. Basically it was more an appartment than a room. We enjoyed the bath with the complementary wine, and spend a relaxing evening in the beatiful garden.

Our host Hazel was great. We highly recommend letting her plan your day for you. You will tell her what you like to do at the great breakfast, and she will come up with some great ideas. We followed many of her suggestions and had some wonderful days as a result.

The area around New Galloway is great. Though we also really enjoyed the highlands, where we were among many tourists doing the same, the south part of Scotland will always have a soft spot in our hearts. It feels like the forgotten part of the country, and it really deserves more attention than it gets.

And if you go there, we highly recommend Cruachan house as your place to stay.

A great B&B

The welcome was very warm. The hostess withe mostest! The room was immaculately clean and comfortable. We slept very well. There was a great selection for breakfast. It was all served in a nice dining room. Altogether a very happy experience. Love Dumfries and Galloway 

Really recommend this guest house

Wonderful quality b and b
 Spacious immaculate bedroom and bathroom. Lovely property,gardens and location for exploring this very rural part of Scotland. Booking ahead for evening meal is advisable if you want to eat in the nearby area as currently limited availability of local eating places. We hope we can visit again.

Short Scottish break.

Our second time here. Arriving was like visiting friends we had known for years. Hazel is so helpful and cheerful. 
Room 2 is lovely, very spacious and comfortable. Wifi is good. Breakfast is superb! 
Thanks you for another lovely stay. We hope to be back soon.

Yet another brilliant visit

The house is a beautiful property and the owner was most welcoming. Comfortable large bed and a large bathroom. Room would benefit from having a small fridge. Cooked breakfast was good quality and very filling. The area is rugged but beautiful but you have to travel for an evening meal as there was nowhere in the village open. 

Welcoming and friendly 

A wonderful B&B- probably the best I’ve stayed in. Beautiful room, great breakfast and helpful, friendly hosts. I couldn’t fault it. All the little extras just made it that much more special. Many thanks for Roger and Hazel for such a great couple of days. I will definitely be back.

Without question the best B&B we have ever stayed at. A warm and genuine host, Hazel, cannot help enough. Good local knowlege. The breakfast is outstanding! Homemade jams & preserves too. Its the attention to detail on everything that shows they care. Access to the summerhouse in garden is a lovely added extra .Thank you Hazel & Roger

Perfection

I stayed for two nights booked through Absolute Escapes while trekking the Southern Upland Way.

I had a beautiful, large and light room. My first reaction on arriving was that this was a little wasted on me when my wife wasn't with me. It was just the luxurious room that she would absolutely love. It was a just a really great place to arrive back to after two long stages on the Southern Upland Way. I had two great nights sleep and the breakfasts were brilliant and set me up for the days walking. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and even brought forward breakfast arrangements for me on the Sunday as I had an early pick up to start a long stage of the trek. 
I just hope that I scored as well as a guest as they did as hosts, I had a lot to live up to!

Brilliant Two Night Stay

We were visiting an aunt in Dalry and were finding it difficult to book accommodation when we came across Cruachan House. We found it quite easily and there is parking available for all of their guests which is good, The house itself is wonderful and has been restored/maintained to a high standard.
The bedroom that we had was roomy with a very large bed and comfortable bedding. In fact every effort was taken to make our stay comfortable and we loved it.
Little touches included fresh milk for teas and coffee being left in a mini fridge nearby for us to take and Scottish treats as well as biscuits in the room.  The marmalade and jams served with breakfast - which was all cooked to order - were all home made and I particularly enjoyed the poached plums served with other fruits and yogurt.
We weren't there long enough to make use of it but there is a large lounge available for guests.
