We stayed here for 3 nights in November. The room was lovely and the hosts were very welcoming and pleasant. We had 2 days booked at Alton Towers and this B&B was quite literally a 5-10min walk to the main entrance so it saved time having to either walk or take the monorail from the car park back down to the entrance. We would definetly stay here again.
The only downside was the breakfast, a continental breakfast is fine and what we ate was lovely....but we felt that some of the items weren't what you'd expect to see on a continental breakfast menu. We would suggest switching the toasted bagels and toasted crumpets for a choice of cereals and white or brown toast.

Amazing little place with welcoming warm hosts, comfy beds, nice shower which helps after a long day of walking around Alton towers, super clean and breakfast is toasty warm and delivered to your door, tea, coffee and  really nice quality couple of biscuits to dunk.

Will be back next year for our 4th year in a row.

Fantastic B and B 

Spent 3 nights here whilst visiting the park. Carol and Terry were marvellous hosts. I almost don't want to write this review, keep this place as my little secret! 

Literally 5 mins walk to Alton towers. So nice to walk back afterwards and sit in Terry's garden

Carol brought us our lovely breakfast tray each morning. There was tea/coffee and biscuits in our room. Such a lovely place to stay! Will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful retreat

The owners are incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are spotlessly clean and really well equipped. We had the self catering chalet and one of the rooms and both were just fab. Despite being self catering Carol still rustled us up a breakfast which went above and beyond.

The entry to Alton Towers couldn't be closer, not even if you stayed at their hotel. Lovely restaurants are a short trip away and you don't fancy driving give Mum's Taxis a call, they were absolutely spot on for us!

Perfect!

Carol was very pleasant and sweet and explained to us the covid19 procedures with how everything worked at the B&B such as breakfast and our towels due to covid19 restrictions. The breakfast was very fresh and light but filling. The room was clean and well presented, it has windows you can open which was very good. We stayed to visit Alton Towers which was just a few minutes walk away. Would definitely stay here again. Only one issue is if you're staying on the ground floor you can hear the people above walking about/talking however this is not a fault of the B&B and I brought ear plugs with me anyway :)

Lovely Pleasant stay over the weekend

My girlfriend and I booked the Ivy Trough last minute for a weekend down to Alton Towers. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the room was like a converted little apartment, very homely and comfortable with tv’s both down the stairs and in the bedroom, which was like a converted loft room. The location was for all intent and purpose at the entrance to Alton towers. 

Absolutely have to book this place if you are planning a visit to Alton Towers as the location is perfect for walking to and from the park in a matter of minutes and local amenities 5/10 minutes in a car.

Stayed here midweek for 2 nights. The place is beautiful and clean. Was just what we needed. About 3 minutes walk to Alton towers. It's the perfect location. Breakfast was a continental style with lots of choice. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Lovely

Had a long drive to get to Alton Towers and found this little gem! Owners on arrival were an absolute delight and made us feel very very welcome. All COVID policies and procedures in place with hand sanitisers available. Room was lovely warm and bed very comfortable. Great having a separate room with TV and sofa as well as TV in bedroom. Lovely continental breakfast, and full tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Bathroom spotless! If you want to get away and relax, and have a fun day at Alton Towers which is only 350m away, this place is a must!!!

A little gem!

We have just returned from staying at the Trough Ivy House. We really enjoyed our stay - being a few minutes walk from Alton Towers was really convenient, and Carol and Terry made us feel welcome. Terry emailed us helpful information before we arrived, and Carol was there to greet us and also brought breakfast to our rooms each day. The rooms were clean and there was a good choice of breakfast options. We would definitely stay again.
