Excellent visit we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. In particular Adam who went out of his way to ensure we had a great time. Nothing was too much trouble. Adam and his staff are friendly professional courteous and made our stay perfect. 
The location and value for money is superb. The rooms are tastefully decorated and clean and comfortably. Breakfast was freshly made and beautifully presented with a good choice on the menu, along with a buffet option. 
Dinner in the evening was again excellent with a good selection of local produce. 
The ambience of the Three Crowns is every thing you’d expect on a cold January day with log fires and cosy seating. Thank you for making my birthday weekend a real treat.

Great Hotel friendly and welcoming  staff superb location. Highly recommend.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past a few times including New Year 2022/23 for a three day break and decided we would stay for their three day Christmas break with our furry friend.   The "doggy" rooms are large and in the courtyard which is ideal.    The staff were superb (as ever) .   But, the food was the highlight of the stay.   Excellent and the best Roast potatoes with Christmas lunch that I have ever had in a restaurant.   Ewan and Adam were helpful, efficient and pleasant as were the other waiting staff.  It was also nice to see the owner there working pretty hard.   Must mention the hardworking housekeeping staff.   Maybe that was the only little niggle that bath gel, soap, etc was not replenished over the three nights.   All in all, a wonderful Christmas.  Thank you everyone at the Three Crowns.

Would recommend the Three Crowns anytime of the year

We had a fantastic 3 day’s stay over Christmas: the staff were wonderful, and the food was exquisite. 
This hotel has 13th century features and was decorated beautifully with Christmas cheer and an always helpful and smiling staff team.
There was a murder mystery evening arranged for Boxing Day which was also lot of fun. There was always a roaring fire and lots of good cheer. I would recommend this hotel at any time of year, but as a Christmas stay it was extra special.

A fantastic Christmas stay

The Three Crowns has always been spot on for a Sunday roast and it didn't disappoint this time.  Fresh veg, excellent roasties, proper homemade yorkie, gorgeous gravy and a tasty cut of beef it really is not to be missed.  Coming from a catering/ restaurant background I'm pretty good at picking out a frozen meal from fresh and these guys have it down.
Well done Three Crowns, you need to get yourself entered for the best Sunday roast in Devon, Country Life magazine I think... could be wrong...

Excellence is Standard 

Excellent pie. My wife's fish and chips had lovely crispy batter and great chips. The mushy peas served with both meals were tasty.and minty. Not a bit like the tinned variety. Excellent sized portions ideal after a walk on the moor. Nice log fire.

Lovely food and good service 

Stayed in December 2022 - loved it so much we are going back next week; staff amazing - Raami - Cheryl - Sylvie - thank you for your attention, warmth & humour! Rooms comfortable - & warm - great shower after long walks - & best pornstar martinis ever ;) Location is excellent for walking / mountain biking  & Chagford has some wonderful shops too - & all dog friendly. Essentially park up - stay - walk - relax - there is no need to move the car again!

So awesome we are going again ... 

Had a good stay, beds were comfortable, the rooms were very clean and service for our evening meal was excellent.  I have to single out Scott - who was very attentive, looked after our party very well, including the gentleman who became ill during the evening - above and beyond.  Thank you - we will be back.

Thank you - a good stay

We have just stayed at the Three Crowns for 2 nights, Adam and his team could not have been more attentive and welcoming, making it a perfect break. Breakfast and Dinner were amazing. A truly dog friendly Inn and was a lovely stay. We will definitely be going back.

Lovely Inn & Great Location

This was our second visit to the Three Crowns.   Our food on our first visit was excellent but they have a new chef now and all meals over the New Year exceeded our expectations.  We eat in the bar or snug area as we had our dog with us.   We booked on a dinner/room and breakfast basis.   Breakfast was exceptional.  The scrambled eggs were to die for!!  Yes you have to wait a little longer but it is obviously cooked to order and well worth the wait.   Evening dinners were extremely good and being there on the Sunday evening they had roast dinners on the menu.   Well, the beef and trimmings were fantastic.   Just cannot praise the Three Crowns enough. All the  Staff are really friendly and helpful.   Sylvia is  a one off!!   She goes beyond the call of duty with her customers.  Ewan runs the hotel wonderfully.   Housekeeping is excellent with again friendly ladies "doing" the rooms.   Will definitely recommend and will be back.

Wonderful hotel in a superb location

Stayed for 1 nite with my wife and enjoyed lunch, dinner and breakfast. The hotel is in a fantastic location in the heart of lovely Chagford on Dartmore, The building is a charming mix of 13th century and modern, the thing we like most was the professional but friendly attitude of the staff which gives you a comfortable stay in a relaxed setting which for us is the perfect ambiance for a country hotel. We are not sure if we will come this way again however we wished to say thank you for giving us such a nice welcome and stay! We have to say having a couple of wines in the bar with log fires in the wonderful granite fireplaces is worth the trip alone and is an experience we will remember.
