TERRIBLE! The sheets had clearly been slept in and there were hairs all over the bed and on the pillows. The bedspread was badly stained and looked like it hadn't been washed for a very long time. We complained and the man assured us that he had put clean sheets on, but said he knew that the bedspread was stained!. He said he'd put some different sheets on it we stayed. I didn't want to stay but we said we'd go for something to eat and then decide. As we had paid and it was a long drive home we went back to see how clean it was. The host seemed really surprised, he was rude but said he had changed the sheets. I lifted up the pillows which were the same ones and found the same hairs and stains so clearly he hadn't expected us to return and was leaving the same dirty sheets for the next person. Trapped in the other pillow was a really long dark hair. We left, there was no way we could stay in such a dirty horrible room. We had to pay to book another room as the journey back was too long.

Great couple of days away, host was a lovely gent & couldnt have been nicer,  place needs a bit of sprucing up & as for the spiders thats  another story. PS, Blowfish, we hope your partner is ok mate.

Spider lady

This looks like an out building turned into a few rooms with an en-suite. I’ll be kind as it looks like the owner lives on site and he’s alone. The room at first glance looks nice and clean, however, after my asthma played up, I discovered a lot of collected dust behind the beds. I didn’t even move the headboard to see. I read a review in 2019 of a customer staying in my room. She showed a picture of a rail that was rusty in the bathroom. At first I thought it was covered in sh1t. It’s not but very off putting. There’s two of them and still there. The toilet, you need to be a contortionist to sit on. 
Then there’s the spiders. Good job my missus was not with me. There’s was 3 large ones sharing the bathroom with me. Another guest said she woke with one on her! After again reading reviews about the breakfast, I thought I’d play it safe and went for scrambled egg on toast. Toast was as thin as Gandhis flip flop. 
In all it wasn’t the best place to stay but for the price I paid, it was average to get my head down.

Spider-Man would love this place

Enjoyed my stay in the chalet-style room in the rural setting and was served delicious breakfast in the chalet-style dining room. Will definitely come back again.

(Just heads up - The Cottage B&B in Marsh is actually quite nearer to Axminster station and not Honiton one.)

Comfortable stay in a rural setting - very pretty.

Seemed to be the only one there only saw an older man, rooms seemed to be made from out buildings and not part of the house had some heating in the evening but nothing in the morning wouldn't want to be there in the winter,  tried for half an hour to have a shower tried everything was either freezing or scalding nothing in between couldn't find a hair dryer,  breakfast basic but okay cheapest B & B I have stayed in for a very long time but is true you get what you pay for did me for a couple of nights which was enough, no where near Honiton is in village of Marsh too small to be on a map !!

No bells & whistles just basics

Accommodation clean and tidy...perfect if you need a budget motel stopover for the night. Make sure you fill up on the cereals etc. at breakfast: the 'full English' was the most measly I have ever been offered...

Smallest cooked breakfast I have ever seen.

My husband and I should have been staying in ilfracombe for a week but the booking had been cancelled somehow! I’m grateful that this happened because we ended up at this amazing B&B.

The owner Chris couldn’t have been nicer and it was the little touches such had always having a glass of water on the table for my husband to take his tablets. Chris was an excellent tourist information guide and pointed us to some lovely tourist destinations. 

Breakfast was fantastic quality and Chris was always around asking if we needed more. The room was lovely and clean and the bathroom was a well appointed wet room. There was free WiFi included.

We were amazed to get this all for only £60 per night. 

This was the best staycation we could have hoped for.

Simply amazing value

Great little spot. The rooms are dated and could do with some modernisation, but this is just a small B&B - not the a 5 star hotel. Overactive and friendly dog - which is a bonus. Very nice owner. Very accommodating.

The rooms were clean and tidy, if a little outdated- the wet room really needs updating due to rust around the fittings. The host was friendly enough and provided a nice breakfast. Wifi was available and we were perfectly comfortable during our stay.
