Took ages to check in as we were firstly given a room that already had someone in, then a second room without a bed for our children. Paid for a family room for 2 adults and 2 children and were eventually given a normal room with 2 singles squeezed each side of the double and absolutely no floor space. Room and bathroom were tired, smelly and not clean. Breakfast was decent.

Convenient for short visit, food a bit of a let down quality wise, bit overcooked and lacked some choice but overall pleasant. 

Weekend in Chatham

Phoned before we travelled to tell them we would be arriving after midnight, no problem they said. Requested a room with a Dockyard view, again no problem they said. Arrived a little before 1am and had to be let in by a security guard as the receptionist was not available. We phoned the number to contact them and there was no reply. We waited 15 minutes for the receptionist to appear. My name was on a list of no shows despite having phoned to le them know we were arriving late. Went to our room to find it was a room with a view of the road so complained. After much ado, they managed to find a room for 3 with a Dock view. In need of a cup of tea but couldn't have one as the teabags, sugar and coffee sachets were in the little blue tray but had been drenched with water and could not be used. 
Breakfast the following morning was good, regularly replenished and started our day off well. Before we went out for the day we put the blue message sign on the door asking for the room to be refilled. Got back to find more towels which were actually not needed as we had only used one of the previous ones. The bin had been emptied and dumped by the door but no sign of a refill on the drinks. Hubby went to reception to ask for more and was met by a very grumpy receptionist who rather grudgingly gave him some.
Decided to dine in the Cafe Bar that evening and enjoyed our meal which was served in a reasonable time by a helpful young lady. The food was tasty and well priced. Breakfast on our second morning was much more haphazard than the day before. Less food available and not topped up as frequently as the day before so very disappointing.

I have to say that this was our second stay at the Chatham Maritime hotel, our first being in August 2023. I think the hotel has experienced a change of staff as the standards of cleanliness were not as good and the customer service was not as good. A closer inspection of our room revealed carpets that had stains on them, a bathroom that had dirt round the skirting boards and marks on the floor of the shower, a window that had water ingress and had broken as a result. Curtains that fell off the curtain rail and a horrible dirty brown stain all down the outside of the window.

I'm not sure we will be in a hurry to return to this hotel which is a shame due to the convenience for access to the Historic Dockyard. That is a shame because we had enjoyed our first visit so much last year.

Jade and Erin and very poilte staff Any thing u need they will help you they are very helpful and really nice all the staff are amazing and great havnt had any issues or problems so far me and my son very happy with the rooms they are very clean and tidy 5 stars very happy

Disaster from the start. Booked a double accessible room and this was confirmed by email.  Arrived at the hotel only to find that we then had overbooked the disabled rooms. Then had to wait for nearly 30 minutes whilst they try to sort it out. Finally given room 205 which had disabled facilities.  On arriving at the room we found that it was a twin room and there were flies hovering the toilet. The cleaners need replacing as they obviously aren't doing the job correctly.  After going to reception to complain the receptionist Jay come to look at the room and  agreed that it wasn't good enough.  We were moved to a family room and although it was not what we had booked we do have the ability to not use a disabled room and ti give it up for someone less able. 
We visited tge restaurant for a meal in the evening and although the food was absolutely fine, the service was very slow and there was confusion over what drinks were available.  No £18 bottles of wine which was the cheapest and no budweiser which surprisingly was also the cheapest. 
This hotel seems to be a stop gap for social services and has forgotten about paying guests. 
Would we stay here again,. Very unlikely.  

On a positive note. Jay was absolutely fantastic.

Chatham travelodge

We booked a budget hotel so our expectations were not very high. We arrived half an hour to early to book in, but we were not left to simply wait. We were offered a complimentary benefit and treated as though we were really important guests. After fifteen minutes, our room cards were delivered to us. We had late drink that evening and again the staff were first class.
 
The room was spotless and everything worked. The hotel was a pleasant surprise. Would happily stay again.

A very pleasant surprise

Whilst having paid for breakfast served until 10am, came down at 9.30am and staff informed us that the limited food that was on offer was all that was available. Such as one piece of bread for toast and three slices of bacon. Poor customer service given it is advertised as being available until 10am. Came across as they were not bothered. 

Service was well below what you have come to expect from a national establishment.

You could argue that you get waht you pay for, however, the advertisment for "fluffy pancakes and pastries" is misleading. As they arent fresh from the kitchen. Coffee does not taste of coffee at all. Small selection of fruit, no ambience music, and staff disapears after your fisrt plates are handed. 
The pillows are a bit too hard for my liking.

Breakfast was disapointing

We booked breakfast for 09.20, and found 6 tables with groups of people with laptops and holding meetings. Not a leisurely breakfast and quite noisy. If I had walked into the conference room with my breakfast I would have been asked to leave.

I’ve been here for few weeks and the cleaners and house keeping staff always are running around for guests 
Very shocked with the little equipment they have 
They use a brush on the hands and knees scrubbing the shower rooms 
In 2023 surely the team should be given better equipment
