Our visit and stay over here, was a pleasure and very comfortable stay, on arrival Sam greeted us with a very welcome greeting. Our room was clean and comfortable, we dined in the restaurant, service and food was fantastic. After a comfortable nights sleep we had breakfast, which this too was very good, definitely will be doing a revisit

Great little gem

A lovely quirky pub/hotel with ample outside seating. the food was amazing, service was great, staff very friendly and helpful. It's advisable to book a table in advance for food. We stayed in the amarillo room the room itself was spacious and the bed very comfy, although the bathroom is small it has a great power shower, we stayed during the heatwave so the fan supplied was very welcome. It's on a main bus route from durham-newcastle with stops either side in front of hotel. Myself and husband both have mobility issues but we managed fine with the stairs. We could hear the some noise from the bar area but that was all over by 11pm and it wasn't anything major. Would happily stay here again and worth the money.

Worth the stay ☆☆☆☆☆

A lovely place to stay and we enjoyed our two nights there. Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was of a high standard - both evening meal and breakfast. It's a bit of a trek into the centre of town but there appears to be a number of buses available with bus stops closeby. Nice outside areas and car parking available on site.

A two night stay

Stayed here from Friday to Sunday (today) to visit Beamish Museum. Checked in with Olivia who then showed us to our room. The room was good, very clean and airey. 
We booked to eat at 6.30pm. Our table was reserved for us. We were told that there was live music on Friday’s.  I ordered scampi and chips my husband ordered rump steak. The portion sizes were fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. The young girl singer sang a variety of songs to suit all ages and was good.
Breakfast was equally delicious and cooked to order. The breakfast waitress was very friendly (as were all the staff) and welcoming. 
Dinner last night was great. We chose the light bites 5 dishes for £18. Perfect to sit and enjoy together.
I can only say that for £90 per night per room B&B it was extremely good value for money and a great experience. Definitely would like a return visit!

Fabulous Stay!

Visited for Sunday lunch with my Father and Daughter,  we all enjoyed our meals, had the mussels to start, they were amazing, best I've had in a while!
Roast pork was cooked perfectly and a good serving of crispy crackling went down well, Huge Yorkshire puds and plenty of fresh veggies, too full for dessert, except my 9 year old who demolished the profiteroles. 
All the staff were very pleasant, especially Izzy who was very professional. 
Big shout out to Debs, Zak, Dale and Aaron in the kitchen for doing such a great job!

Sunday delish!

I stayed at the Lambton Worm twice in December, once for 9 nights and then for 2 and I couldn't have had a better experience. I stayed in the Columbus room which was beautifully appointed with a huge wardrobe where I was able to store the contents of one large suitcase, a large sausage/tote bag, a stewardess bag and the bags themselves leaving the space around the bed clear. The room also had two bedside cabinets each with two small drawers and a dressing table which doubled as a computer desk/tea and coffee making station.
At first the room felt a little chilly and I thought the radiator might not be working properly but after a phone call downstairs, Mark quickly sorted it out and the room was warm and cozy in no time. The room itself was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The bathroom was compact, very clean with a shower, sink, toilet, plenty of towels and sachets of shower gel and shampoo/conditioner. The tea and coffee making supplies, biscuits, bathroom supplies and towels were all refreshed on a daily basis or as needed. 
The breakfast was incredible - choice of cereals, fruit, selection of preserves and fruit juices, toast, tea, coffee and then a full English Breakfast - bacon, eggs, sausage, hash brown, mushrooms, black pudding and beans, more than enough to get and keep you going all morning. 
Arriving straight from an international flight, I really appreciated being able to order from the full restaurant menu and have food and drink brought to my room whilst I waited for my PCR test result. Isolation doesn't get much better! Sam was really helpful, carrying my heavy bags upstairs to my room... twice, which is a huge relief when you are travelling on your own.
I dined in the restaurant with other family members several times. Although a couple of times it took a while for our food to arrive, ( I blame the effect of the pandemic), the quality of the food more than made up for it. It was absolutely delicious!! My favourites  are: Fish & Chips, Steak & Ale Pie and Small Plates.
The reason for my trip was a sad one. My Dad was taken into hospital and then moved into palliative care. Because of this, I needed to extend my stay. When Mark learned of this, he was genuinely concerned and went out of his way to make sure that whatever difficulties or problems I was facing, accommodation was not going to be one of them. I was even able to stay in the same room.  Mark, Sam and the whole staff were so kind and caring, it took the edge off the intense emotional roller coaster situation I and my family were in. Their thoughtfulness and compassion made this trip feel like a home from home.
If you are looking for a charming, one-of-a-kind hotel that is much more than a place to rest your head, access to a cozy pub with loads of character, great food and genuine, welcoming and caring staff, this is the place to stay.

Exceptional Unique Hotel, Great Food, Welcoming and Caring Staff

Had a comfortable overnight stay in a clean room and a good breakfast. A day and a half later I couldn't find my new fast charge phone charger so contacted the pub to enquire if it had been left. A day or so later they rang to say they'd found it and posted it to me free of charge! Amazing, thank you so much!

Honest caring staff!

Amazing quality meal, a touch pricey but once you’ve eaten you see that prices are justified.
Christmas dinner booked. Festive December meal booked and a Sunday lunch in December.
I’ve read the occasional bad food review but all restaurants must occasionally have a bad day. I definitely recommend this place to everyone
