The room was spacious and very tastefully furnished. Superking bed, two armchairs, wardrobe and two bedside tables. The bathroom was one of the biggest I have seen. Big shower cubicle and very clean. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were lovely and warm. We had an evening meal in the restaurant downstairs, which was excellent and plentiful. We were so pleased that we decided to eat there. Breakfast was continental and everything was left on a big worktop outside the room. There were several choices of cereal, granola, porridge, bread for toast, pastries, jams, marmalade etc. in the fridge was orange juice, apple juice, butter & yoghurts. There was a kettle, toaster, microwave and plenty of cutlery/crockery.

Brilliant place to stay. The staff are very welcoming and friendly & its very clean. There's a good choice for breakfast in the mornings. The bed was really comfy

Excellent place to stay

Our room was spotless, luxurious and extremely comfortable - it had a fabulous bed, bathroom and a bijou corner with beautiful easy chairs and coffee table. All furnishings were very high quality and we mustn't forget the coffee machine with loads of pods. Breakfast was great and the restaurant excellent, offering a delicious selection of meat, fish and vegetarian meals.There's private parking and the hotel central for all amenities and not far from the station. All staff were very warm and helpful - we stayed a week as we'd just moved house. One of the best hotel experiences we've ever had.

We stayed in one of there rooms, they where amazing, so clean and ample room, as there was a huge bed, also to large chairs and a coffee table.
We stayed in the chatsworth room, so we didn’t hear any noise from the communal landing, we where on the main road, but for a weekend I didn’t find the traffic noise that bad at all.
Plenty of tea, coffee and water available from the communal area, outside the rooms, and continental breakfast was always well stocked. If that’s not your thing, there was a Wetherspoons pub 2 minute walk away.
Had a great time and will definitely be back!

Lovely

Rooms are very comfortable, clean and large.  We stayed in the Chatsworth room.  The hotel is on a busy road but the double glazing cuts out all the noise. There is a parking space for each room but a bit tight if you have a large car. I have Merc E class, no problem. Luxury double shower room.  Two comfortable arm chairs and a table and foot stool to enjoy your drink or breakfast.  Continental breakfast consisting of fruit juice, cereal, porridge, yogurt, bananas, croissant, bread, butter and jams available in the corridor outside the 4 rooms, help yourself.  Tea and coffee making station also in the same space 24/7 with fresh milk in the fridge.  We had a delicious meal in the restaurant that was atmospheric and very good value.  Two minutes walk from the shopping centre.  Smiley helpful staff.  Highly recommend.

Lovely hotel in the centre off Chesterfield.

This was a lovely comfortable hotel….probably the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve slept in ….Matthew welcomed us warmly….very clean…all round excellent…very close to the town centre  and buses which we needed as we came to watch football…I would thoroughly recommend this hotel..we will definitely book again

Very nice room with decent sized smart tv.  We had the Hardwick room which was quieter as on side street.  En-suite Bathroom was good too. I agree with the above comments about other guests not always being very considerate about using tea and coffee facilities in the early hours.  I think it would help avoid this issue if kettles etc. were provided in each room.  Hotel in great position for pubs etc. and shopping mall just around the corner.  Breakfast that was provided was good and room was good value. We were travelling back from Northumberland to Berks and this was a perfect pit stop. We went to the Barrowhill railway museum which my husband loved.  Had a look inside the beautiful church with the crooked spire which is just up the road. There’s also a canal visitor centre down the road but we ran out of time.

Good value hotel

When we first arrived and met James, I was really happy, when we got to the landing and was informed that's where breakfast would be I was not so happy, went down to restaurant for a meal absolutely amazing meal, so I was happy again, we then returned to the room about 8.30, the room was lovely, then until 2.30am someone was boiling the b****y kettle, and open the fridge close the fridge, the tea facility was right outside our door, the room are described as soundproof but the doors not, had to open window room was hot, fan useless, winter duvet on bed, because opened window we were privileged to hear two people argument started about 2.45am which went on until the police came, with blues and twos going, about 4.30am, after that finished I thought finally peace, 6.00am the kettle started again, I decided to make a cuppa myself 7.00am to open door and the kettle had gone, some one took it in there room, finally I heard it put back at 7.30am, don't get me started on calling breakfast continental, as there was no chesse/hams, also fridge to small, milk got pushed to back and was frozen,
